My natal Venus is Retrograde (Cancer 1) square Pluto. It has been retrograde through Gemini most of my life (42yrs) and just now about to conjunct my natal Venus. I have had the hardest lessons of my life with my Venus. Not loving enough or not knowing what IS love to now starting to understand what it is and loving TOO much.

So this brings me to my question...is a personal planet in Retrograde a good indication as to what lesson that individual will face in their lifetime?

I've heard that retro planets represent things that you have to learn over and over again. in your case it would be the themes that venus is all about: love/relating to other people/your values/how you spend money etc.
