When you have a house cusp very late in the sign (25 deg +), so the rest of the house is in the next sign... Do you feel like that sign is pretty significant? For example, if your 4th house cusp (IC) is Leo at 28 degrees - and the rest of the house is predominantly Virgo - you might relate to having Virgo-like family members, or having a childhood/early family environment that is described by both Leo and Virgo. Or, if you have a 7th house cusp in late Capricorn... and the rest of your 7th is in Aquarius... you may well be attracted to Aquarius/Uranian types. If a person's Aquarius placement (e.g. Venus) were to fall in your 7th - you might still see them as a potential spouse. This is regardless of the fact that your actual DC is in the more conservative sign of Capricorn. Do you relate to this? I know we dont normally use cusps when it comes to planetary placements... So a planet is either in one sign or the other. But when it comes to houses, I think it woukd make sense that both signs (and sometimes intercepted signs) are present in the house.... mainly when the second sign occupies so much territory. I think so! My descendant is in the late degrees of leo thus virgo takes up most of my 7th house and I notice that I tend to be attracted to girls with virgo placements more than those with leo placements. IP: Logged |

I agree. My 3/9H cusp is at 29° Ari/Lib, but I jive much more with Tau/Sco when it comes to 3/9H matters. My MARS is in Cap and MERCURY in Sco too, so the earthy 3H energy is much more my style (add to that VENUS in Sco, too). I'm not inclined to spout off things without thinking about what I'm saying first, which is atypical of Aries 3H. My MARS is a singleton, which contributes, and I have a Libra stellium, so a lot contributes to it, but in general - I agree that late degree house cusps are totally on the fence when it comes to what sign's energy is prominent. I can relate to the part about the 7th house, the attraction is stronger toward the next sign than it is for the sign on the house cup. However for the first house, I identify a lot with my asc and I find that I can't really access the sign that follows so I don't really relate to people in said sign/energy. I feel them there, like in any description given of a planet falling in my first house, but I just don't get the sign itself in a way. IP: Logged |

I think it may be worthwhile to look at the ruler of the house cusp-as well as the sign that it is placed in.So in the case of someone having the IC on the 29th degree of Leo and the rest in Virgo,I would look at what sign the ruler(Sun)is placed. The individual may relate more to Virgo if their Sun sign and Mercury is in Virgo. But more to Leo if their Sun is in Leo. If in the former, the Sun is in Virgo but Mercury is in Leo,you have mutual reception A very annoying thing to have in a chart to intepret successfully and to assign exclusive rulership on. So I think that that may be the only time that they feel very much the "pulls" of both energies and strive for appropriate expression that is context sensitive The opposition aspect can give a similar kind of energy. I agree! A few of my houses are in late degrees. For example: my DSC is in 28° Taurus. The descriptions sound so painfully dull. Gemini is much more suitable for me. However, that doesn't mean my DSC doesn't have any Taurean flavor to it at all! IP: Logged |

I noticed that I have this, especially with my house cusp signs. I have an Asc in Libra at 01 degrees, but my house cusp are what a virgo ascendant would be in my chart. I feel more like a Virgo Asc more than anything sometimes. I also have a Virgo ascendant in Vedic (lahiri) and that description was spot on scary, haha! IP: Logged |

Miley Cyrus is the same. As a Taurys Asc, I'm like she talks too much for a Taurean IP: Logged |
