Hey guys. My partner and I have been sitting on the idea of a brewery and are now in the naming process. Tomorrow we are meeting to discuss these names. I have my Mars in Taurus and it has taken us sluggish two years to complete our beer education...so I'm thinking this name fits in theory and....it sounds much more interesting than most names. Would you guys buy a beer by this name? I guess I'd like to hear yay or nay? Or other cool suggestions that you won't sue me for later lol IP: Logged |

I want to call it Mars In Taurus Brewery. That's so unique. And I haven't taken this up with him yet...but I think I want to design dark beers that are named after intense/exalted astrological placements like Pluto in Scorpio (being the darkest and hoppy-est). Jupiter in Cancer being a nice pilsner and maybe even a Sun in Leo being a lighter beer... I can't believe I didn't think of this a year ago! IP: Logged |

That is unique, and interesting. My next question was going to be what type of beers. Anyway, it would intrigue me enough to visit because of my love of astrology and I like beer a lot too. I like the name Bacchus, (pronounced back-us) a Roman God of wine and drinking. The number is 2063, you could see if it has any significance in your chart. Bacchus Brewery perhaps. There's also some neat names in the fixed stars, like your username. For example the fixed star Hamel is in the constellation of Aries (mars) & in the zodiac sign of taurus- just another swing on your idea IP: Logged |

Congratulations! You're going to regret asking for advice by the end of this thread...lolI personally like your idea names for the beers. Pluto in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer... I like the word Mars and I love the word Taurus, but for me the preposition "in" weakens it just a bit. You could go 'Taurean'. It's not fun to say, but it would look great in lights or on a sign. Obviously you wouldn't go Martian... or you could depending on where you live (which is actually relevant) If you're serving food you could go with AstroPub, playing on the gastropub thing. You could go with AstroPub even if you're not serving food. Or the position of the planet (a double digit is better). I'm going to rip off of Aries23Degrees, but she has a great number. So 23Degrees, Mars@23... You want it to be meaningful to you, but sometimes the biggest mistake business owners make is their decisions are just a little too personal. Make sure that whatever you go with you are giving serious consideration to what is attractive to the public you're serving. Find that perfect middle ground. And above all, have fun. It's yours. You have at least earned that right to make your own decisions, believe in them wholeheartedly, and have fun. Best of luck to you!

HA! love all the ideas and input. You're probably right, "In" seems to weaken it a bit... I'll probably keep it though because I want to keep it strictly astrological. This way when my Mars in Leo buddy rolls in with 5 names not related to astrology we have a clear cut dichotomy. IP: Logged |

Yeah. I already think you're pretty cool- running your own business...your choice of business...I just realized you live in DC. In that case I actually do think it's a good idea to be specific. There's so much going on there. I get it. IP: Logged |
