Eris is starting to get a REALLY bad reputation in the astrology community! She stationed last week, on the World axis of 22 Aries, as the various attacks occurred in Paris at the publishing company (Sagittarius rules publishing) and Jewish Kosher Deli (Sagittarius rules religion) stimulated by the Moon in Leo trine to Uranus square to Pluto. Can someone ask the astronomers to name their next discoveries after NICER deities? We need a break down here on earth! The millions of people marching together, including world leaders and religious leaders, was decidedly inspirational. Say no to fear….says Saturn in Sagittarius.Last week, Mars in late Aquarius set off the Uranus/Pluto square by semi-square. Mars was straddling the space in the middle of Uranus/Pluto, triggering their midpoint, stimulating them as well as the Nodes of Fate. Combining the three malefics with Eris stationing, there was an attack heard around the world with a whole lot of intense, crazy, unstable and destructive energy.
Mars enters Pisces on Monday January 12, until February 19, 2015. The Aries and Scorpio planets suddenly become softer, more pliant, emotional and deeply sensitive. They (and we) can feel overwhelmed with the suddenness of the energetic shift from air to water… imagine diving into the ocean and the shift from detached hot beach air to fluid, moveable, flexible water as the contents of the ocean flows over your skin. Pisces seeks to unite ~ understanding we are ALL connected on the little blue and green planet we call earth.
Our week ahead will continue to feel difficult as we face a momentous choice. Pluto squares the Nodes of destiny on Thursday, asking us to make an up or down, alone or partnered, evolve or devolve choice. Choice. Choose wisely. The choice aspect, a square, with Pluto talking to the Nodes, happens every 17 years. The last time was May 1998. We choose to move towards either the South Node or North Node. The South Node and Uranus in Aries, will be answering to the lower form energy of Mars in Pisces so addiction and dissipation can invite you to slip, slide down the slope, alone, sad or in despair. The recommended choice is to go toward the North Node ~ partnering with your own evolution and inspired by the Venusian ideas that propel you forward toward change, love, desire and connection with your own soul and your loved ones. Choose wisely! We choose on either Wednesday or Thursday as the Node/Pluto square (I use True nodes) takes place in the early morning hours EST. You will realize the magnitude of the choice on Sunday, when Pluto and the Sun connect by declination and Sun trines Admetos, really marking the conclusion of the story. Time to move forward.
Mars squares Saturn also on Thursday ~ Mars, as the ruler of the South Node will be blocked, hopefully in a clear way, from choosing incorrectly ~ Saturn asks him to think about his forward movement choices. We are being asked to become more conscious and invited to accept a new understanding of the choices available to us.
Uranus and Pluto continue to travel forward together, on the road again, separated by about a degree as they approach their final, seventh square on March 15. Their energy will continue to be intense until they start to separate when Pluto goes retrograde April 16. We have three more months of their intense energy. We will bounce between these two transpersonal planets ~ and watch our world evolve as we swing back and forth between the energy.
On any given day, you can be both Pluto or Uranus in your various daily interactions. In any given situation, notice which role you are being asked to play. The blessing of astrology is we know this is all transitory. We are right where we are supposed to be. We are evolving…right before our very eyes! Uranus the change agent, the rebellious teenager, the revolutionary, and the catalyst. Pluto the power guy, preserving the structure, and the evolutionary impulse to move from a caterpillar to a butterfly. We are changing right before our very eyes!
It can feel like a wild car ride, careening from one side to the other. No worries. In the bouncing back and forth, you are moving forward. Like the Chariot driver trying to control two wild horses galloping forward as you swing back and forth between Uranus and Pluto OR maybe a New York City cab driver, hang on tight, keep your eyes open and steer, correcting your own direction.
It is a big period for departures ~ deaths, endings and conclusions to those stories that shape our lives! Pluto, Mercury, Venus and Juno aspect the Nodes of Destiny. Relationships face important choices with Juno’s aspect on January 13. Juno aspects the Nodes every 4 years. Mercury’s annual aspect to the Nodes, takes place on January 15. This year, he will actually have three aspects as he is preparing to go retrograde next week. People are in the mood to be stubborn and swim away without a word of warning. Venus aspects the Nodes on January 14. Mercury and Venus are fighting with Juno so there may be an ending to a relationship that is important to you. Or you may decide to end a situation that you’ve outgrown.
We are in Mercury’s shadow, prior to his upcoming retrograde. This will be a fun one as he’s in a smart air sign. He’s quite mischievous and interested in causing all sorts of fun and games. Air retrogrades make for misunderstandings around communications. It is not a physical retrograde where you drop your cell phone into the toilet, more you text your ex or butt dial someone and talk about them so they can hear you. Careful with those emails and text messages!
Creative partnerships CAN be negotiated and entered into this week. It is not all bad. Lots of emotional energy is available and things can be accomplished as the Moons have good aspects from Tuesday night on. The changes taking place are actually supportive of you and what you need to do next. Emotional clarity helps us move forward.
Continue to work with the candle energy from last week. Move multiple votive candles around the room. Put them in a clump. Distribute them in clumps around the room. Separate them into stand-alone fires of energy and light. Look at the combinations of light and how they are enhanced or stand alone, a brave light in the darkness.
Continue to figure out what will bring you joy. What brings you joy? Go toward THAT…Look at your Venus by age (the degree is years, divide the minutes by 5 to get the month of your Venus… 4:35 is 4 years and 7 months). What house is your Venus in by sign? How old is she? A 4 year old Venus has very different joy than a 29 year old Venus. If you have a really BABY Venus ~ add 30 to it and think about the Venus activity in your life at that age. A reader wrote that she was playing with her Venus in Scorpio by writing Erotica. Venus in our chart is where our joy is. To calm all the crazy down, go and experience joy. Start your day with Venus, you’ve activated joy. Focus internally ~ you can’t do anything about the outer world if you are not connected to your own source of joy. Start you day with Joy, the rest of the day, crazy as it may become, centers and calms down. And when it gets a bit crazy in that old world of ours, center and ground yourself by coming back to what brings you joy. Connect with your joy.
Dreams continue to inspire. Mars in the sign of dreams brings action and adventure to our nighttime processes. Mars squaring Saturn this week brings dreams about tasks to be done and barriers to be crossed. Revisit dreams unfinished. Write them down. Work with them during your Joy sessions.
We enter a period of frequent day long void Moons because Saturn entered Sagittarius. The last degrees of the various planets are in early degrees in the zodiac. Take the day long void moons and use them to connect with your spiritual purpose on earth.
Monday has harsh ending energy and lots of letting go energies as Moon in Libra squares the Sun in Cappy. Tuesday Libra Moon is creative but the Moon is void all day. Wednesday and Thursday, are super busy with a Moon in Scorpio, her detriment yet with good aspects ~ you win, lose and draw depending! Friday is all over the place with Sagittarius Moon and good closing aspects. Saturday morning is productive with Sagittarius Moon void in the afternoon. Sunday Capricorn Moon is sensitive with firm closing aspects of major endings as it joins Pluto.
Void Moons in the Week Ahead: When the Moon is Void, it is wise to avoid making important decisions as they tend to be unrealistic, and subject to false starts, errors or unexpected hassles. Avoid being concerned with things beyond your spiritual center. It is time for subjective, spiritual and non-materialistic concerns. Kick back, let life flow, and center yourself. Connect into your essential oneness with the Universal Forces.

Moon day Monday January 12, 2015 ~ Moon in Libra goes void Square to the Sun. Emotions conflict with Ego needs to day… you want it but it just ain’t working. Mercury’s aspect to Saturn marks an emotional ending of sorts. Mars enters Pisces making every anger, action and desire, more sensitive, attuned to others and connected. It will make the world a slightly softer ~ if sadder ~ place until February 19th. Sun’s square to Eris this morning causes a bit of psychological processing. There are a number of health aspects today so health, immune system and stamina can be iffy. It is a good day for a cold or the flu to arrive! There are arguments or stresses around the home front. Jupiter’s quindecile aspect (165 degrees) to Neptune amps up the somber, emotional energy as well as sapping you a bit psychologically or physically. Venus’ square to Poseidon encourages us deeply feel our emotions and express them. Tears?

Today is a great day to spend thinking, feeling and connecting to your inner being. More health aspects encourage an quiet approach to the day. Venus connects with Saturn so financial matters are activated. Mercury’s square to Poseidon makes communications extra emotional and watery. Venus sextiles Uranus and offers a burst of energy mid-afternoon with a creative approach or fun adventure. Vesta’s square to Eris causes a bit of envy around the home or body. This is taking place on the world axis so others are noticing. The sniffles really expand at the end of the day. Juno’s aspect to the Nodes encourages you to form a new working partnership that helps you creatively. Juno’s in Leo helping your Sun shine in your Leo ruled house by bringing some new form of relationship, partnership or a new way of connecting with others. Allow the options to cook in your being so you are clear later in the week when it comes time to choose your new path.
