Can you please explain to me in depth what's the major difference between these 2 houses? I have venus, pluto and a bunch of asteroids in my 5th house, but my 11th house is intercepted. I've always been curious about these 2 houses. I feel that people with major 11th house influence, get a lot of attention "naturally", from people, and in general they are well-liked. They make friends easily, and they got something "special" about them, something that just draw peoples attention. But can you say that it's the opposite with 5th housers? I feel we have to do something "extraordinary" to get the attention we fully crave. Major 5th house influenced people I feel need to get recognition for their creative or entertaining abilities, but it is not something that just comes naturally to them, as for 11th house people? And 5th house people is not generally liked? Are they actually downright not-liked in opposition to 11th house people? IP: Logged |

I have Venus/Cancer and Mars/Gemini in 11th.My daughter has Mercury, Venus, Sun in Cap 5th. Of all of my children, she and I have the most similar attitude socially. She is easy going, loves to laugh, and is super easy to get along with. She thinks my pranks are funny while the other children might think my pranks are immature or irresponsible. People love her. She is just attractive in every way. She's a major flirt and I don't even think she knows what it means to flirt. It just comes naturally to her when she likes someone. She is usually confident, but once in a while I am surprised by her negative attitude and lack of confidence. She can be a little mean and selfish, but so can I. I don't really see a huge difference, but these are my non-professional observations. IP: Logged |

So is she generally liked socially? Does she crave any attention from others? Does she got a special creative hobby (anyways this would be a good idea for any 5th house influenced person! Let their creativity unfold itself!!)

I have sun, venus, mercury, saturn, ceres in 11H Cancer (Saturn in Leo) and moon in Capricorn 5H. I have all my life been in the middle of everything. I have mothered my friends. I have wanted to belong to a group of same purpose and push us along. I have also wanted to be in the spotlight but when I have gotten it I have become shy (Leo Saturn). I LOVE to dance and I LOVE arts of all kinds. In a way I am much like a Leo moon (moon in 5H) but when things go wrong or if I become too emotional the Capricorn/Saturn side takes over and I become colder than ice and extremely inaccessible. I get along with a wide variety of people from all walks of life but I can't stand when someone is too narrow minded, jaded or illogical!! IP: Logged |

The 11th house will give anyone an "Aqua" vibe, and that energy is not as intense as a "Leo" vibe, considering they're different elements. I have Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus in the 11th house. I don't know what asteroids are there at all. I get along with people easily, on a superficial level, but I wouldn't say I draw an excessive amount of attention to myself unless I want to, but that must be the Aries influence - my terms, when *I* say so. People with a lot of 5th house influence might come off more showy than they mean to or they simply actively demand to be noticed for their creative talents. I have Pluto in Scorpio there as a singleton and it's a fantasy of mine to be a singer for large audiences, like that would just fill my soul because of the unity music brings about. They could appear more childlike and maybe more innocent / less able to be understanding of "grown up" problems, possibly? IP: Logged |

It isn't so cut and dry as "this is the opposite of that".The 5H represents internal. The 11H is external. You're trying to equate both on external terms, and it just doesn't work like that. The 5H represents what we find fun and entertaining. The things and people we like, the place we relax and let loose, how we lose our qualms and take risks, as well as how we romance the things in life (whether it be food, games, people). It's an incredibly selfish house, driven by self-centric desires. The 11H represents our place in the world. It is how the world receives us, how it adapts to and assimilates our presence, it is our place in the group. This is how we try and "fit in", the things we are willing to do for others, and how they will reciprocate our efforts. It is the results of our hard work and the rewards we reap. This is a selfless house, an erasure of Self and a change into "Us". The 5H is a personal house, and you cannot expect anyone else to really understand it. By contrast, the 11H is on display, and while people may misinterpret it too, it's on terms they can contribute and play a hand in. When it comes to "popularity", both houses play a role. The strong 5H natives are drama queens and kings, but they stand firm in their paths, which a lot of people can admire. Their relationships are strong and vibrant, and they make people feel special. The strong 11H natives are usually very relatable, and easy to become attached to. It's harder to be in a close relationship though, as they tend to treat everyone distantly. IP: Logged |

Love what you said!
But I'm curious how 5th house people treat others warmly vs. the 11th house? I agree but I need an example to associate with it so I can think on the differences or similarities more.

A 5H native would treat the person preciously, because "mine, my preciousssss, MY friend". An 11H native is more along the lines of "take a number, we're all friends here, so everyone gets equal share". To be more specific, showing preference is against the idealism of the 11H, which values equality for all. It goes against their aesthetics, and will fuel tremendous guilty pangs when they do show or feel favoritism. "Everyone is welcome here." Meanwhile, the 5H has no qualms about being picky, and when you are a friend to a 5H native, then you belong to their chosen set of Crown Jewels, and are treated as such. "You are part of my favorite things." IP: Logged |

I an relate to this, but if I use myself (11H planets) and my daughter (5H planets), I would say that I also have an exclusive group of friends. I genuinely try to give my love (in its many forms) to everyone, but I give my confidence and trust to that small group. My daughter does not care to share her love with everyone because they are people and because she relates to all of humanity in that way. She just loves who she loves. And like you said, she doesn't give it a second thought. I don't think it's a bad thing either. It's charming, and you feel more special when you are her friend. Her friends adore her and are very loyal. My friends love me, but they are like me. We can find love for everyone. IP: Logged |

Yes. She is very creative. She is an amazing sketch artist. But this is where her insecurities come into play. This is where she wants recognition very badly, and is very self critical. This is difficult for me to understand. Everything I do creatively I do for release. I do it to take the pressure off, not to add more pressure and stress... IP: Logged |

This is interesting... I though that 5th house people would feel this way about their creative hobby as you do... but it's true, I can tell from myself at least. I have venus, pluto, lilith, eros in 5th house and I want to make art so badly, because it would "release the pressure and stress" but instead I find myself being all stressed out, because I wan't to do good, be perfect and get recognition... it's very interesting indeed, and I think the relationship between 5th and 11th house is completely mysterious even, and hard to figure out...I don't know why...
