I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like it because I can see what's going on in my daughters life without prying and it's fun at times...But sometime I get a lil freaked out because I feel exposed. Libra AC, Pluto conjunct IP: Logged |

I used to be all about facebook but now it's whatever to me. Too many of my mom's friends and my SO's mom's friends. I can't post anything I really like unless I want to get a bunch of s**t about it. Everyone has an effing opinion and I don't care to hear it. I prefer instagram. Less drama...pretty pictures. Oh, and tumblr. IP: Logged |

Hate it...very Plutonian. Must be that I cherish my privacy. I used to be on it and deactivated myself TWICE!! I get razzed all the time but I don't care...a lot less stressful for me as I'm a Cancer ASC and very sensitive so the things people would post would drive me NUTS!! No Thanks...IP: Logged |

Lol...I made an account once using a last name from my childhood and my middle name, told ppl I wanted to keep up with about it but no one else. I can't stand the thought of ppl just typing in my name and finding our where I live and what's going on in my life.
Now a use a version of my real name but nobody can look me up. I try to keep it cryptic to an extent....lol...that's what happens when your Pluto is in such the social sign libra! Ugh! IP: Logged |

Hmmm, I know another cancer AC that deleted his account due to ppls posts. He said ppl where terrible and he didn't want to see it in his face everyday. He got so irritated and stressed with it he just wanted out. IP: Logged |

Hate it, could care less about it. Never been a fan of broadcasting my life or relationship to the internet. Don't get people who do. I value my privacy more than anything. I had one and sooo glad that I deleted. I had too many people that I didn't know friending me. I couldn't keep track of who I did know and didn't know anymore. I could NOT stand the drama and weird postings from people. Libra ASC square Neptune and Uranus, trine Saturn and conjunct Mercury. Pluto is square Saturn and Chiron, sextile Jupiter and Neptune, exactly trine my MC and minor aspects my Sun, Moon and Mars. I'm not a fan of "social" media anyway, would rather be social irl. Yeaaah, it's average imo. I have two or three with fake names that I initially used as spy accounts too  because I would feel too exposed and it's also just for convenience sake as everyone now has FB. It's useful sometimes to get more info on people. It's also good for getting news on things we 'like', especially as most of mine are for entertainment purposes (Memes, Did you know ?, Cyanide and Happiness kind of stuff). It's like YouTube actually. Can't get off it once I've started watching videos. Start listening to some nice classical music and end up watching giraffe videos.  But besides that, nothing extraordinary. I don't disclose anything about me, enter fake names, fake birthdate when needed. I love my privacy too much for that. Virgo ASC (but Libra Sun and progressed Libra ASC for the laziness) square IC/MC axis 2, trine Saturn 3. Ruled by Mercury in H3 and Scorpio and progressed Sun in Scorpio, both probably for the spying and investigation. Liked it, had fun. then hated it. so, deactivated for a couple of years.
Went back on for promoting work, also cause friends were bugging me.
Had a little more fun, got addicted again, and suddenly just quit it again after feeling it was completely invading my privacy one way or another. Too many tags for no reason.
Also annoying me seeing the same narcissistic posts pop up way too often, overtaking sometimes important posts of articles that may be of interestI prefer something more like reddit and pinterest Gemini Asc square sun,mercury,neptune and trine venus Pluto on ic, trine venus and neptune, sextile lilith

I use it like a phonebook, I just have it so I can contact people when I need to. Theres nothing interesting enough to discuss about my profile so I dont care about the privacy thing- theres nowt to hide Cancer Asc, neptune and uranus opposite.

FB and social media in general...Hate the privacy issues, but the fact of the matter is that it's simply too late. The genie is out of the bottle, and like the bomb, you can't uninvent it. As a society, we must start discussing how we will and will not accept this information to be used. As someone with a career in information technology, I have no choice but to interact with it. Don't care for it. They obviously have no respect for those who use it, what they police is absurd, what they don't police is absurd, it's an invasion of privacy (both the well known and less known kinds), the vast majority of people on it are fake anyway (and will like everything--some hilarious experiments have been done on that, btw--just so they get some likes back, and some get vengeful if they feel they're not getting enough likes from a certain person), and then people IRL want to be added and then everything responded to or feel ignored. I doubt I'd have time for LL or much anything else if I were plugged into FB instead, and my internet experience would be a lot more superficial (and thus pointless) as a result.I am curious how I'd be if I were a teenager today given that I'd have been raised with it and wouldn't want to be kept out of the loop. OTOH, I expect if all that had been around when I was a kid I'd have been a major target for cyber bullying where they didn't fear getting smacked upside the head as most would-be bullies learned to fear in my childhood, and imagining how vile the sexual harassment would be makes me think I'd run away from it screaming and thus loathe it even more than I do already. Aside from the privacy issues I get frustrated with how connected we are expected to be, it's like nobody can have their own space without others wondering where you went.
Maybe I should try a new forum like the ones you guys are mentioning. I like seeing and hearing about news, articles and funny things going on but i don't like how personal FB is.
I don't need to see a thousand pictures, know they went to work out, like they do everyday, and post it everyday! I don't need to know someone went to a restaurant and had a med rare steak, asparagus and glass of wine with pictures. Why would I need to know that? Why would anyone need to know that? I know ppl that will message me and say, "you didn't like my post" that's because I have a life and I didn't see it.
It makes me long for a time I can NOT answer my phone and no one gets mad at me or freaks out.
I've started leaving my phone at home for a couple hours here and there...it's kind of nice to NOT be so connected and not so available every once in awhile(except for my kids)!

I used to love it, would post lots of pictures and do a status update about once a week but now I only get on it about once a week. I dislike how people can see when you're logged in, get sick of people airing their dirty laundry & one girl I know uploads a different profile pic almost daily which is basically a selfie showing just another one of the many angles of her face with a cheesy smile. I would have loved Facebook in my teens and early 20s though but it's probably a good thing it wasn't around then 😆 Leo asc

I can't stand that ppl can see when your on...they know if your ignoring their message. I have a few ppl that message me the second I go on it, so immediately get off.
When your just going to chill and check up ppls updates and not really into having any serious communications about nothing important, the messenger part is extremely frustrating!

^^FB doesn't let you disable it or "be invisible"? Add that to a MAJOR reason why I won't use it. I got rid of IM fast as it was so annoying, too fast for me to think or research anything in depth but too slow to be of interest, and the topics were usually about nothing or something that bored me to tears (including getting erotic on me). And some would throw tantrums if I didn't participate. To get anything done I had to get rid of it and so I did. And the only use I have for texting is important notices (like where someone is and they're okay) or possibly to check while I'm at the store in case someone remembers something I should get while there. When I want to get in touch with people otherwise I meet them face to face (or at least voice to voice where less is lost in translation), and if they're too busy for that then they should be too busy to text. And I see enough reckless irresponsibility with texting that part of me wonders if it should be prohibited outright (prohibiting it only for walking, driving, etc, wouldn't do much to stop the recklessness of it as it would still be used in those circumstances as long as they can reasonably think they won't get caught, it would require a total ban--as in no service providers--to save lives). I used to like it but I've been off FB for months now and I'm not interested in it anymore.

I used to like facebook but after alll the parents and grandparents made an account it got wackkkkkk now i love instagram lmao Im in college and everybody has instagram so its kind of relevent and i actually get party plans or info off instagram at times but i could imagine if i was older than no i wouldnt use it either Scorpio sun

I've had a FB account since it started and over the years became steadily more addicted to it... to the point where I was checking my phone every few minutes, every day

I haven't got one. I deleted it about five years ago. when I did have one, I disabled comments/likes on my statuses and profile photos. and I had it set so no one could write on my wall. and i untagged myself in any photo someone tried to ID me in lol. so it completely defeated the purpose. people who i never spoke a word to in HS, had no mutual friends with, tried to "friend" me and i didn't like that either. I think i'm too private for social media. and i find it boring/a waste of time. tumblr and instagram aren't bad though. there's more freedom for self-expression in them, imo.scorpio asc- quintile moon (dunno what this means), square jupiter, sextile uranus & neptune, conj pluto IP: Logged |
