When I started to study astrology-especially on this forum- I was so impatient. I wanted to understand and know everything overnight.

And so the first two years of learning, I was reading, reading, reading. I still do read....a LOT.

So don't sweat it,it takes time.Enjoy it because its more fun when you do

Well,in both astro.com and cafe-astrology,I get Leo Asc 10/MC Taurus 4.

I am late to the discussion so forgive the redundancy. Now to test this time of birth.....

I will try the 1st method which I have been dying to apply And I got it from the very brilliant Lauren Delsack videos.

In her videos she credits Noel Tyl's books on solar arc in helping her to rectify birth chart times. So lets see if it works with you.

Anyways according to the source,Noel Tyl says that Solar Arc works for 1 year of life=1 degree.

So to test the validity of a birth time we look at all the natal planets that arch to conjunct the angles AC/IC/DC/MC i.e planets in the 12th,3rd,6th and 9th house

In the current chart of the Leo Asc we have;

*Mars in Cancer 18 arching to conjunct the AC at 10 Degrees Leo.

*Mercury 16 Libra arching to conjunct the IC at 4 Degrees Scorpio.

*And although the 6th house has 3 planets, we will work with the 2 closest to the 7th. And that is the Moon in Cap 28 Degrees /Neptune at 22 Degrees arching to conjunct the DC at 10 Aquarius.

You are still well below 30,so this method may not work effectively in testing all the arcs. But lets give it a shot and see what we come up with the ones we have heh?

So now the questions...

1. What changes (if any) occurred between the ages of 12-14?

To get this age we take Moon at 28Cap-Dsc 10Deg Aqu and we get 12 i.e

-28Cap -30Cap=2
-00Aq -10Aq=10

10+2=12

I extended to 2 years ahead for variance. It can go either way.

2.Was there something significant in your life that happened at ages 18-20?

Again we take Mars at 16Lib-4Sc=

-16-30Lib=14
-00-4Sc=4

14+4=18

Again,I added the variance of 2 years to be sure.

I know the two questions are really vague

But if there was something that happened around that time-or even slightly earlier, the mind has a way of recalling it as well as the age you were at.

I'll continue after your response.

Wow That was a mouthful.Lol

Well, the adjustment of the time of birth rests on your 2nd brother's birth(indicated by Mercury).

But seeing that this is your 2nd little brother, I wonder if the 1st brother's birth is "more" significant.

But this is a process. So let's work with the information.

In order to reflect the birth of your sibling,I moved the IC back to 28 Degrees of Libra.

So Mercury 16 Degrees arcs to conjunct the IC at 28. Mercury arcing to conjunct the 4th house often signifies a move/birth or change on the home status. So that just stuck out for me.

Subtract 16 from 28 and you get 12. The age you were when your brother was born.

Now with this new adjustment,Mars 18.39 Cancer arcs to conjunct the Asc at 5.55 Deg in Leo.

So that means that something happened at 17/18 with regards to your Image(AC) as well as your relating to people(7th).

This is what I took as the move to the new school( Mars on the Asc) and your crush on the boy(opposite 7th): Pursuing him relentlessly and him being very passive to your advances(Mars opposite Dsc).

Your accident in the pool with your Dad coming to the rescue is Uranus (sudden incident)arcing to oppose your Asc/conjunct your Dsc(physical body endangered suddenly) at age 12/13.

Soon thereafter,Neptune(confusion and a sense of not knowing what is going on) went to oppose the (self)/conjunct the Dsc at age 14/15 years. this was the feeling of being depressed when your parents couldn't reconcile.

Now to test this hypothesis;as the above events reflect a time of birth of 3:48 am with Ac in 5.55 Leo/Aquarius and MC/IC at 28.48 Aries/Libra.

But again I have to emphasize that this rectification rests on the birth of the 2nd sibling.

But I really suspect that it is the 1st sibling. The sibling that affects you directly on the IC/MC that counts. Not so much the 2nd.Hmmmm

When was the 1st sibling born? Are you the eldest? Because the Mercury arcing the 4th indicates a move/birth(as stated).

Yes astro.com does address the dst issue. I read it on their birth input box under "extended settings" .So manual input there is not necessary.

In your birth chart, the Mars in 12th does suggest some internal struggle in asserting yourself and having confidence issues.

I thought the Mars arcing to house 1-in the previous proposed tob- had to do with a change in schools. But I see that the radical change in image(1st) is a strong indicator of this too.

Usually I look at events that span over a 3-10 year period as that is when planets move definitively to other signs. More especially Neptune,Uranus and Pluto

The other events could be shown in the progression and solar arc chart. But those 3 usually knock on the door and make their presence felt.

I look for accidents, births, the 1st marriage, moves outside the state or to another country etc. Things that are very "action" oriented, psychological and even traumatic-over the above span of years.

But the more specific, the better i.e I started high school in Feb 2011 for instance etc. So that we can trace retograde to direct hits of the outer planets.

This could also be a significant life event that should be indicated somewhere.Do you remember the year and month you had the surgery?

Mercury went retrograde(backwards) to Aquarius from Pisces in Feb 2014 and Venus went direct(after the retrograde hit) in Cap 13-25 Degrees.Hmmm

If he got off with minor bruises,Venus perhaps?

But you were also saved from the disaster. So perhaps Venus conjunct the DSC oppose the Ac(body)? *ponders*

I don't pay attention to retrograde hits. Not until they turn direct-emphasizing the nergy of the sign.Hence I am not even looking at Mercury.

Either way, your brother could use this information in his Asc/Dsc analyis too.

But back to you....

When I rectified the chart again to include the birth of the 1st sibling,it does give me a Cancer Asc/Dc axis of 26Deg with the MC/IC axis at 17 Aries and Libra respectively.

Mars in 12th directly squares the Mc/Ic axis.I think this could be significant.

Plus Moon(ruler of your 1st) sits on the Dsc(7th).

So your life(Asc)dependended on the competency of others(ruler of 1st in the 7th).And so did your Mom's(Moon indicates the mother).

Plus Moon in Cap suggests challenges-as Saturn rules the Moon.

But you also do have Neptune/Uranus squaring your Moon too-so we could be overplaying the same aspects over?I can't say.

But in order to be sure,we need to tend to the details before drawing assumptions.As in the new chart,there are new changes;

Mars in Cancer 18 arcs to conjunct the Asc at 8/9 years of age.

Uranus at 22 Cap arcs to conjunct the Dsc at 3/4 years of age.

Neptune at 20 arcs to conjunc the Dsc at age 6/7.

And finally Mercury 16 arcs to conjunct the IC around age 1(reflecting the birth of your sibling.Give and take a few months).

We need to be able to verify both times(not forgetting the initial one ofcourse)with transits;to see if either are correct.Or if we are still way off.

Meanwhile,do any of the above ages ring a bell? Anything significant happen during those times? Ask you parents because you were very young at these times.

Okay, I think we may be overcomplicating things.

I think to make this process simple,I should first check major events and then look at the chart to see if they correspond.

You have given me events, but I am not sure that some of these events are “major” in the strict sense of the word: Because others that you listed are more unpleasant social experiences or minor incidences etc.

We each have different experiences in life that we can call “major”.

For most an accident is “major” but for those who work in a very risky environment, it is less so etc.

So I will use myself as an example. And notice that there is a gap between the years. And there is usually a link to the natal chart (using Delsack’s method) when not present in progress or solar arc chart.

1.I had a car accident in October 1994 and was hospitalized. I lost a lot of memory from that year and really can’t recall how I passed my then grade 6.

This was the “EVENT” that made confirming my Asc pivotal. It wasn’t a minor “almost” or some random hit by a car that I “got up and walked away from” etc. It changed my life.I lost blood and would have probably have had to have my hand cut off etc.

I was bed-ridden for weeks, couldn’t use my hands and hand to learn to function all over again.

At the time,Neptune and Uranus were conjunct but in retrograde (moving backwards) in Cap.

But guess what? Days before my horrific car accident in October, they went direct.
Neptune sat on my then proposed Ac/Dc axis exact! Uranus sat on my proposed Mc/Dc axis exact!

The astrologer who did the rectification said that that was BIG. But we needed to test it still with transits.

When I look at my natal chart (using Noel Tyl’s and Lauren’s method) and after making the necessary adjustments, the event is suggested by Mars arcing to oppose the Asc at age 10/11. I was around that age when the accident occurred.

The chart must “sing” the events-births, divorces, changes in residences etc. That’s what makes the Asc/Mc points so important.

The life events don’t have to be many. Many of us really don’t have that much drama in our lives. But we all have experiences that have to be “life-changing” or deeply affecting in some way. And we are very quick to recall them as “stand outs” in our lives: Even if it is just 1 or 2.

So in your case, you have given me a lot of information. But the information is so close together in years that I am not convinced or find it really hard to tell which of them are “major” from those that are “minor”.

If your parents had a sudden divorce and you were separated from your sibling; having to live in another state/country for instance with one parent, that is “major”. That affects your environment, psyche and way of life.

But if you lost a treasured toy at age 7 and had to sleep crying that night. For a child of 7,that may be “major”: But not in comparison to the above example.

Not unless the same child got burned by acid after playing with a dangerous chemical and had to have plastic surgery or spend many months in recuperative therapy???

This is what I mean by major life events: Events that really shook you and your relative way of existence.

Did those operations affect the way you functioned in the kindergarten years?

In other words, did you suffer self-esteem issues because of getting teased at school or bullied by other kids because you had shortness of breath, walked very slowly or were constantly in pain?

If not. I think that could be an isolated event as I was born suffocating and green in colour.

They had to pump oxygen into my lungs but I have not had/never had a subsequent asthma or related breathing complication in my toddler, teens and adult years. EVER!

What I would look for in your case is the following;

1. Relocations to a new place that caused you to have to start over with new friends, new neighborhood, new everything.

2.A sickness/illness with one parent that changed the dynamics of the family unit i.e the mother had to work for a couple of months whilst the father rested and ,as a result, the income bracket decreased/increased etc.

3. Perhaps a situation that caused you a great deal of stress that spanned over a period of a year or longer i.e temporarily taking care of your siblings whilst your Mom and Dad worked demanding jobs etc.

It has to be something that when you look back you say "man that was tough". And it must have had a a ripple wide enough to last longer than the event.

My car accident left me with a scar on my hand and head.

The head and hand scars didn't heal completely for years and they would really get sore in winter. But now they've completely healed.

My mom had a sickness around 2000. But since I don't remember it affecting our family dynamic that much so it doesn't stand out in my memory as "significant".

Although it was a horrible experience for her(and it shows in the chart I rectified for her with the transits),It wasn't mine to learn from.

So you must at times be subjective and at other times a little objective.the wider the span of years(say 5 years). The better

In your listed events,I was particularly interested in the transition from an "all girls" school to a public school that you went through. That must have been traumatic or life changing?

Also, the accident of almost drowning with your brother stood out for me.

But by the sounds of things,it seems like you both recovered quickly from that.So it didn't strike me as something that major.

Your father's injury was also of interest.

But since it had little butterfly effect on the family role/shift for years onwards(well at-least not mentioned), I took it to be not that significant either.

I'm sure there is something though. Maybe even 3 things that are very vivid and made an impact.

If its really tough to recall,we'll have to try the whole sign system and narrow the degrees down manually.

The fact that your Asc is between Leo and Cancer makes the job a little easier. We will simply have to trace patterns when Neptune/Uranus/Saturn was moving in fixed/cardinal signs through the years.

Chart rectification is a process as I said. really

Your early years were quite challenging I see.

With all the information you have given and all the correction I have made.

You were born with Uranus/ Neptune retro at 22/20 degrees Cap respectively.

Uranus and Neptune went direct in October at 22/20 in Capricorn in October 94.

I ignored this at first because of the trine aspect they both make with your Sun.

But there is also that wide opposition they make with the proposed Asc/Dsc 26 Degree of Cancer/Cap. So yeah.

Often Uranus/Neptune aspecting the Sun (also representing the physical body),suggests that there are disruptions (Uranus) and defects (Neptune) with the body (Sun): Something unexpected (Uranus) and difficult to decipher (Neptune) that affects the vitality of the native (Sun).

The trine suggests the challenges can be rectified or mitigated without much effort.
Or this adversity can be overcome.

But I wanted to look for degrees far from personal planets that had an impact.

Again transiting Saturn in Pisces went retrograde in 1995 July at 24 Deg (when you were 10 months old).

Saturn went direct in Feb the following year ’96 at Pisces 24 Deg-making an opposition to Sun; weakening the physical body as Saturn oppositions to the Sun often do.

Progressed Mercury(siblings) square natal Mars in 18 Degrees (exact) that year.

Also since Mercury denotes the esophagus, the square to Mars could indicate choking on something or having an uncomfortable experience involving breathing/swallowing.

Natal Uranus (unexpected) Arcs to conjunct the Dc-opposing the Ac at age 5(‘99/’00).

Neptune arcing to conjunct the Dsc and opposing the Asc. Neptune weakens the body (opposing 1st house).

Natal Mars arching to conjunct the Asc , opposing the 7th house at age 8.

In 2004 Saturn went retrograde in Cancer at 26 Deg in Dec.

It went direct the following year 2005 May/June at 24-26 Degrees (conjunct the proposed Asc in Cancer at 26Degrees).

When tr Saturn forms a conjunction to our Asc/opposes the Dsc, we usually go through an image change.

Mars in Taurus went retrograde 17 Degrees in October that year 2005. Then it went direct in December 2005 at 9 Degrees on Christmas day- opposing your natal Venus at 6 Scorpio: Suggesting a conflict in feelings (Mars opposing Venus).

Venus also rules my proposed 4th house(IC in Libra) and the opposition to Mars does suggest a quarrel and heated feelings in the home(IC Libra) environment.

In 2009 Saturn went retrograde at 21 Degrees of Virgo in Jan.

It went direct on Sunday the 15 August 2009 at 21 Degrees of Virgo. Highlighting some stress with yourself and having to do a lot of growing up and assume the “adult” position (Saturn conjunct Sun).

Uranus (disruptions) was in retrograde motion in July 2008-22 Degrees of Pisces. It went direct to 22 Degrees in March 2009-opposing your Sun in Virgo 22; suggesting some physical changes (Uranus) to in relative environment or you (Sun) that year.

You mentioned that you switched schools within two weeks when you were 15: New people, new environment and new everything. This is Uranus at work.

In Feb 2011 when you decided to break your silence on family issues, Saturn went retro at 17 Deg of Libra.

It would later go direct at 17 Degrees Libra in Sep 2011-conjunct your natal Mercury and squaring the proposed MC/IC axis.

I believe this is the change in status in school (MC) as well as the tough energy at home(IC).

It also includes the situation with your brother as well as the ongoing therapy (Mercury/Saturn conjunct).

Mentally, you had to keep your head above water and do a lot of growing up.

Progressed Mars in Cancer 28Deg conjunct the natal proposed Asc in Cancer 26 Deg by less than 2 Degree orb.

In 2012 when you went to your public school, Saturn went retro at 29 Degrees in Feb 2012.

It went direct to 24/25/26 Degrees of Libra in August 2012(the month you started public school)- squaring the proposed Ac/Dc.I believe that this was the HUGE image change you mentioned.

The point of the Ac/Dc is to time life events.

In other words, one watches when planets are in a certain degree and sees whether those planets,at that specific time, affected the native externally in any way.

It has to be something visible as angular points(Ac/Mc) often show themselves visibly

The time comes from when most likely the planet hits a natal point and involves calculating i.e 1 Degree=4 minutes and adjusting ahead/behind in order to correlate with the MC/IC axis(which is what I did).

So the time needs no further adjustment as far as I am concerned,it is 3:05 am. All you need do is enter it to get the proposed placements.

But take note. Chart rectification is a process. In other words, no matter how good the estimate is, how compelling the evidence. It is still a guess.

The verification will come from watching the transits. They SHOULD affect the significant points highlighted and if one doesn't feel a significant flux in their lives when transits hit the sensitive points, the sensitive points are off.

The transits of Pluto/Neptune Uranus are HUMUNGOUS. You can't miss them. Pluto works more internally and shifts things drastically outside and if on the AC/MC, people may often decide to start their own business or take up BIG managerial roles.

Pluto gives even previously "timid" people some unprecedented guts to do things that they themselves never thought that they would have the stomach to do.

So when it hits their sensitive points, the rest of the people around them say "You've changed. You are not who we thought you were anymore" etc.

Sometimes it is tricky to differentiate between planets hitting a natal planet and those that hit the Ac/Mc- especially if very close together.

The slow moving planets help with this discernment more than the fast moving ones..

If correct, the transit to the Ac should hit earlier than the Moon(26-28)but after Uranus(26-22)

It may feel like one big CLUMP of events and flux. But transits to the sensitive points inspire "action". One usually wants to "do" something than be passive and let thing unfold.Even when the sensitive points are in fixed signs Scorpio,Taurus,Aquarius and Leo.

And as far as people saying "oh, you are Leo rising" or "You come across so Cancer". I would take that with a pinch of salt. Because there could be planets that have that influence somewhere in the chart.

If for instance we had confirmed that you had a 1 Degree Leo Asc,people would say "but I feel like you act so much like a Cancer" etc. And that is because your Moon in Cap would be arching to conjunct the Dc form the 6th house.

So when you interact with others(7th) you would project a lot of Moon(ruler of Cancer) qualities that you may not readily recognize in yourself i.e nurturing, caring, sensitive etc.

But I must add that with Moon in Cap 6th arcing to the 7th, you would not so much "baby" others as accept responsibilities and perhaps be a stern parent to them.

This would be more in line with the Moon in Cap as it emphasizes more on practical responsibility i.e "I'd rather go pay the bills, make the money and build a home than hold you all night long, wipe your tears and cook for you daily to ensure that you feel secure" etc.

So others may also notice Cap traits come through strongly.

In short, test the points validity with transits.Read the descriptions of planets in the proposed houses. Include also the ones that arch to conjunct the following house(by very few degrees-say 10 ).

But i would be very careful with descriptions as they can be very "copy and paste"-lacking variation and substance really.

But the transits are objective. The chart should "sing".
