I have the opportunity to work with a volunteer based organization, Boy Scouts.

I have really had to step up to the plate and play a lot of different roles in this organization. You can really find out who a person is when theyve been asked to volunteer.
A lot of people dont understand it and are not dependable when it comes to devoting their free time.
I get it, were all busy, but someone has to be there to step up to the plate.

So here I am...
I have noticed being in this organization the ones that do step up really have unique personalities.
Most of them are your lovable nerdy/geeky/dorky types (and I mean this in the most enduring manner. Im very much a closet dork myself, Im just too shy to let it all out)
Without these people who knows where our communities would be...

But it got me wondering, what common traits do volunteers share in their charts?
Volunteering is a 6th house trait, correct?

I have my 6th/12th houses intercepted. But I'm a very Virgo type with a stellium at 5th house. Thus, I have done many charity/volunteer job and most of them was about children.

Im wondering about 9th house too.
That would be more of a religious based (missionary work?)

Virgo is a volunteer based sign?

I have venus in my 6th house (Aquarius)
Virgo is my rising sign and my 5th house (children) has sun and mercury in it.

Yes, it is a 6th house thing, volunteerism, but can sometimes correlate to the 12th. Although the 12th relates more to involuntary service.

Don't know that you'd see any such obvious themes standing out in the charts of such a group, however. Reliability is another set of factors generally. Planetary fixity, Saturn, Moon.

I would guess for me it's my packed 3H Libra...nearly all my volunteering is within the community. By my packed 5H Sag with its Mars probably prodded me to be the change I wanted to see in the world (and I generally didn't have to be asked to volunteer and offhand the only times I can think of where I was actually asked to--at least where I accepted--was by people I trusted who had people bailed on them and they needed my help).

What I'd be curious about are those who promise to volunteer but flake. I was stunned when a Summer Reading Program had 20 volunteers promise to show up and they ALL flaked. I was told that's why the library always gets so many because so many do (I guess some people don't want to say no so they say yes and then don't show), but even they were surprised (and panicking) when not even a single one showed up. And it was a rough gig for me but I'm glad to say I reaped some good karma (in the form of a smoking hot reference that would expand into a glorious butterfly effect) by taking on that gig myself which exhausted even me when I was 17 and still filled with boundless energy (and after I continued to volunteer with the library until the library board and director offended me).

Thats the position I got stuck in.
We are supposed to have a Committee Chair, Cub Master, Den Leaders, and Treasurer.
EVERYONE dropped out leaving kids with NOTHING. I signed up to be the Chair but had to wear every hat.
Seriously.. Who could do that to kids?
Yank the rug right out from all of them...

I have Aquarius Mercury and Capricorn Mars in my 6H (Mercury conjunct PoF and Dsc from 6H).

I also have Saturn in 11H, trine Sun.

When I commit to volunteer, I follow through.
Sometimes, getting paid less than a living wage for what you do for a living is also a sort of volunteer work when you're helping people in need, but I do the free kind as well.

And yes, I'm very quirky and idiosyncratic, but I find that most people appreciate my sense of humor, if they're not too narrow minded and/or repressed. So says I.

<Eta> I suppose I should mention that I have a Virgo Moon.

And yes, even when the thing is about I would expect people to be more sensitive but NO. Why the heck would they be?

During the time I work for the national child service there were many slack-offs and just being a regular member of the club got me wining votes for many kinds of presidentship.

I believe that saturn positions in natals have indications because volunteer service is also about a commitment to cause.

I've volunered twice, in HS. I walked around the town with a can during a national event that raises money for various medical causes and I helped gather some food for the poor in a local supermarket. Currently I'm a volunteer wannabe, will get back in action this or next year. I see myself volunteer during xmas and in a hospital as a reiki practitioner. I'd love do the same in a zoo if possible.

Virgo ASC, Sun conjunct Neptune, Jupiter in the 11th, Vertex in the 6th.

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

I enjoy volunteering, my mom introduced me to giving back when I was young and I've continued to do so since. I've mostly found myself working with kids in lower income areas or in rough situations/environments.

No planets in 6th or 12th house though.
If I'm just guessing, some aspects/placements that might make me more inclined would be:

Midheaven in Pisces
Virgo Sun (4th)
Sagittarius Jupiter (5th)
Vertex in Sagittarius (5th)
Saturn in Pisces (9th conjunct MC)
Sun trine Neptune
Sun trine Uranus (tightest natal aspect)
Sun Quintile Jupiter
Moon trine Jupiter
Venus sextile Jupiter
Asc bi-quintile Jupiter
Sagittarius is also on my 6th house cusp

I love to do things like soup kitchens and helping the homeless...I don't know why I relate so much to them but I do. I guess I feel displaced also and know how much it hurts to feel so alone with nowhere to call home.
I'm much more likely to show up to volunteer on time than to show up at work on time, lol!!

I have a 12th virgo moon, opposed pisces Pallas/Vesta in 6th. All of these make soft aspects to my scorp NN in my 2nd house.
