1, Saturn conjunct the Sun–degrees are very important here. An exact conjunction is very much harder than a 5 degree conjunction. One’s father may have been very demeaning. The person may feel as if he never measures up because he could never measure up to his father. One may struggle to feel as if he is good enough to make it in a career or in soceity.

2. Moon conjunct Saturn–The above situation exists except it is with the mother. This aspect hits one’s heart more than one’s career. One feels a generalized sense of unworthiness. It goes deep into the core of the person.

3. Neptune in the 12th House–This is a classic aspect for depression.

4. Moon in the 12th House–One feels as if one cannot express one’s emotions. It is like a tongue tied of the heart. This can lead to depression because the person has so many emotions( as we all do) but he feels as if they are locked within a prison inside him and he can’t get to them to let them out.

5. Mars in the 12th house-Mars in the 12th house makes for a person who is afraid to act. He is afraid he will look stupid and then be humiliated. Hence, he keeps his passions pent up. Passions cannot stay pent up forever. He,often, foes into a depression from the sheer pain of wanting to access his passions( as we all do) but not knowing how.

6. Saturn in the 12th house–I call this placement “The Child who Sits on the Sidelines but Wants to Enter the Group so badly but is afraid of humiliation” Saturn in the 12th feels left out. He feels that he does not fit in any group. He feels that other people are doing it to him( as we all do when we have certain Astrological aspects such as this) However, he is imprinting himself on the world and it responds in kind. However, all this doesn’t matter because he feels left out and this can lead to depression.

7.Chiron conjunct the ASC—This is severe bullying which can make a lifelong imprint on a person and lead to depression.

8. Chiron in the 10th House–This person feels as if he does not fit into society. He sees other people get ahead but feels like he can’t . He feels cursed in a sense. Usually, his father took away his confidence and hence, he feels he can never overcome this and be a success.

9. Mercury conjunct Uranus–This makes the mind race like one is on the Indy 500. It is not an easy aspect. It makes for brilliance but brilliance has a down side and this is madness. This aspect wreaks havoc with the gentle Mercury, which is one’s mind. It sends it buzzing. The native may feel as if he dances to the beat of a different tune. This can be scary and isolating and can lead to depression.

10. Mercury Square Uranus–the above situation occurs. However, it may feel even more locked in as the native cannot figure out how to stop his racing mind. These two aspects are very hard and my heart goes out to people with them.

Yeah I only have one, moon in 12th.
Maybe that why I can bounce out of depressions pretty easily.
Thank goodness, I finally have something that's easy in my chart! Woo hoo!

I have a mercury quincunx uranus and I notice that I do suffer from racing thoughts quite a bit! I cant imagine how a square/conjunct would be? I bet that they would have a strong mind to be disciplined and overcome it,like most squares!I also have a sun square saturn, which can make me so hard on myself for some reason. I love this Ami and thank you!

Great list! I think Moon square Saturn is worse than the conjunction though.

I'd thrown in Moon conj/opp/square pluto in their as well. Sometimes the feelings are so intense, you can't sleep well, thus leading to anxiety and depression.

I have none on list but I do have a very tight Mercury/Uranus/Asc aspect and I can attest to feeling as if I've crossed line into madness :-/ Brain just won't stop. Ever.

My fiancé has in natal Moon conj Saturn, Chiron in 12, pSun conj pSaturn. He has suffered from deep depression in past but it was more circumstantial (war). He has also told me that he's been bullied because he didn't speak up for himself as a child. I have a feeling there is more but I don't want to press him on this.

WAIT! I have Mars in 12H but conj Asc so I usually don't have problems acting but I can dwell on things before I do.

I've none but am depressed.

Think sun conj Chiron

T square Uranus/asc opp sun/Chiron and mars in square. Could that do it, it feels a lot to do with it anyway.

If sun Saturn can do it could Saturn in Leo? I really don't like the feel of Saturn. Maybe venus sq Saturn then? Still trying to learn things like this.

Moon in 12th also attributes to emotional problems with the mother, right? I would say so, because I do feel like my true self and real emotions are locked away whenever it involves my mother, or any female relative for that matter. Perhaps it's the result of trying to maintain the status quo so the person doesn't get in trouble?

Turns into awkwardness where it's hard to express to others unless I feel it's safe to. End up bottling my feelings up and feeling down more often as an adult than I did as a child. Thank goodness for Sun trine moon.

Not sure if it's the same but I have Mercury quincunx Uranus and my mind racing comes and goes in waves. I find it hard to focus sometimes because my mind will go off over-thinking and over-analyzing everything from love, career, family or friends until I'm upset or even crying. If I'm being entertained or kept busy by something/someone I'm interested in then I'm fine but it's the quiet moments like my commute home from work or when boredom sets in that it really gets to me.

I have 4 of these with the exception of my Sun squaring Saturn and Moon Trining Saturn (and Moon opp. Pluto because someone said that here) but I don't stay depressed. I'm a highly practical person and I think Chiron conj. the ASC allows me to see other's pain easier than some, so I guess Saturn and whatnot works different for everybody.

Excellent explanation of how moon in 12th affects the person! I also have this and I could not have out it in such direct words, you explained it perfect!

EXCELLENT ANALYSIS.

------------------
"Karma needs to be understood, acknowledged, and it needs to be either resolved or dismissed. Karma accumulates when you feed it with energy; if you stop feeding it (that is, you cease to foment the hate, the pain, the guilt, or any other negative emotion), it usually dissolves by itself."

Theodore Twombly: No. Don't do this. You don't turn this around on me. You're the one that's being selfish. We're in a relationship.

Samantha: But the heart is not like a box that gets filled up. It expands in size the more you love. I'm different from you. This doesn't make me love you any less. It actually makes me love you more.

Theodore Twombly: That doesn't make any sense. You are mine or you are not mine?

Samantha: No, Theodore. I'm yours and I'm not yours.

I have saturn in 12th (conjunct asc 5° orb), can't say I've ever experienced depression as such but your interpretation is similar to how I felt at high school. Once I hit university all those feelings fell by the wayside and I became my own person and developed a lot more confidence.

Two of my good friends have battled with depression, both been to counselling and off and on antidepressants- one has moon in 12th the other has neptune in 12th (she also has chiron conjunct descendant and a huge scorpio stellium in her 1st opposite this).

Interesting post ☺

Neptune 12th here- not sure if I agree with it being about depression as much as being empathetic. I naturally pick up what others are feeling and pick up on the energy from people and places so if it's a good environment or person I will be fine. A bad /sad environment or person will throw me off kilter. With that being said, I also have sag ascendent / venus in the first so I tend to be happy and find the positive in most situations. I don't know how well I would hold up depression wise if it wasn't for the latter two placements.
