So my natal ASC/DSC axis falls on Can/Cap 1'08. But my MC/IC axis falls on Pis/Vir 6'29. Why would my two axis differ? Shouldn't they both be on like 1 degree or 6 degrees? Is this typical?

It has to do with the tilt of the Earth's axis as well as the latitude you were born at. It would be unusual if they did match exactly unless you were using an equal house system for your chart.
