Topic: Virgo IC and Kids

Do you fellow Virgo IC's find dealing with kids awkward? Is it easier for you guys to deal with animals than kids? And by kids, mean the little ones. I have Virgo IC and I find that I'm very awkward with kids. I don't know what to do with them. It's like they're some sort of foreign substance to me, but they're really drawn to me (I'm guessing that's because I'm a Leo sun). I look at other people and how they deal with kids, especially the ones who are really good with them, and I realized they treat kids like how I would treat a puppy or a kitten. It looks and sounds easy, but technically you can't treat a human like an animal. And whenever I do try to treat them like how I treat puppies and kittens, I feel like I just couldn't do it because it's not the same. If Virgo IC is not an indicator for this, what aspects or placements would be? IP: Logged |

Wow, yep same here. I have always felt a little awkward around kids too, and I don't even really 'gush' over them much either like a lot of people normally do. It feels a bit foreign, yeah. I definitely prefer the company of animals to children. I also haven't really ever fantasized about having them or having a big family. Maybe it does have something to do with Virgo IC then. Finally someone understands  although I'm not comfortable with kids, I do plan on having at least two of them. Maybe that's just my Cancer moon. What sign is your moon at?

My ex husband has a virgo ic and cancer moon.
We had 3 kids.
Babies and toddlers love him for some reason.
But he never would get down on the floor and play with them or anything. I always felt he was too worried about looking foolish (he has cap sun). IP: Logged |

My IC is Virgo. I love kids and I'm very playful. I'm the same with my dog. I turn into a kid myself lol

Well, if you look at it from an objective perspective, kids and humans are animals in general, haha! I have a Virgo IC at 0 degrees and it can go either way with kids. Some children just stare at me like I'm an alien or like they're extras from a Children of the Corn movie. Other children cling to me and make me feel like their fairy Godmother. I LOVE small animals, and larger ones. I also turn into a kid when I am dealing with kids, but I think that's because of my Gemini ascendant with Venus rising. I enjoy teaching children, guiding them, questioning them, healing them and positively influencing them so they can be the best persons they are meant to be. But I have noticed a negative side of Virgos and their interactions with children. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all your replies guys. I find it that I'm really good with people at least 5 years younger than me, but anything younger than that, I'm still good at but sorta uncomfortable. My moon and sun love children, but maybe it's the Virgo ic that's making me feel uncomfortable with them? Like it takes me a while to adjust to them.IP: Logged |

I have Virgo IC and Virgo Sun conjunct IC, I love kids :hearts:.I'm not uncomfortable with them at all and I'm actually in school to become an elementary teacher. Maybe it's your 5th house? IP: Logged |

 Yeah... I was going to mention that we are all animals. Many animal lovers see their pets as kids, so it's not so strange that you feel that way Solar_Leo. From my perspective they are a lot like kids - and they are part of the family.
People who have never had a pet don't understand this. Well if your sun is conjunct the IC, then that would make you be naturally good with kids. My fifth house is in Libra and I have Mars in there. I don't see how that would make me uncomfortable with kids.

Lol I get what you're saying. Kids and animals love me but I just feel really uncomfortable with kids. To me, it's a little bit different. Dogs and kids feel really different. Maybe it's because dogs have fur and kids don't? Anyway, that's just a weird and dumb thing to say. I really just don't feel comfortable with kids right away as much as I do with animals.

Haha, I do! My moon is in Gemini in the 12th. I guess I could see the slightly detached, restless, not-wanting-to-be-tied-down thing from Gemini's nature as a result of being not that interested in children too. I also have Mars in Gem. IP: Logged |

I'm a Rising Cancer with Venus & Mars conjunction in Cancer. I think babies, toddlers & children are fascinating, cute, innocent and so fun to play with. They are naturally drawn to me like I'm their mother or something, and I just love them so much. I'm 16 and my dream is to have 4 kids with 2-3 year age differences. But 10 years from now, the economy will probably make people want cry, so I wouldn't mind starting with just 2 kids, and have another 2 as my salary increases.

Finally someone has said it! Dealing with kids is awkward. Yes, I have Virgo IC, plus Moon and Mercury in the 11th house. So that "mothering" instinct is there but only so long as the kids aren't mine (moon) or it's for a short period of time (mercury) like 15-20 minutes. I've gotten better at seeming natural with kids but I still feel awkward af. I just talk to them normal after a little bit and joke with them but you know, they're kids. They don't get my jokes! Basically! Exact same placements too!!
My mum who's a Virgo rising says the same, that she just cant get interested in other people's kids.

What are your Moon and Mercury in? My moon is in Taurus and mercury is Aries, so I'm apt at telling kids what to do but not being warm and fuzzy about it. *shrug*IP: Logged |

Lol me too I don't ever feel like being "warm and fuzzy" to kids. It makes everything awkward for me. To think I have Cancer moon which should be really smothering and fond with children. Well, I can't say I won't be affectionate when I have my own children because I'm not at that age yet, but with other people's kids and my little cousins... just naaahhhh.
