I have a really silly question. What in a chart would make a person talk to themselves a lot or have conversations with themselves in their heads.I have an awful habit of doing that.I would probably put that down my 3rd house being filled with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune they are all intercepted and retrograded and I think Uranus is out of bounds .I find that I'm it doing it a lot more than I should regardless of the fact I have been feeling more optimistic latelely.Sometimes I just find my mind runs away with me and I can become very emotionally volatile and disillusioned very quickly. It was a bit a shame as I such a good day today and then the positive feelings were gone.Although I was feeling bit sick last night so maybe that effecting my mood.So enough about me.What I want to know who is do you think is prone to this ?Is there anybody out there who is there own favourite person to chat to? I'm always thinking about several things at the same time and sometimes talk to myself - often I just write though. I do the cognitive rehearsal thing as well - when I'm nervous about something coming up... like a job interview: where you basically rehearse everything you'll say in that situation. But I guess many people do that. I don't feel like it's an awful habit. It helps me because I'm so mentally hyperactive - so if I didn't talk to myself or write things out - my head would just explode lolI have a Gemini AC and Mercury in Pisces (10th) square Uranus in Sagittarius. My 3rd house is empty. The ruler of my 3rd is my Sun in Aries in the 11th. :edit: My AC is on the 29th degree of Gemini, so there's a chance that it is very early in Cancer... but almost everyone guesses me to be a Gemini AC and it seems to fit, so I'm going with that IP: Logged |

I do this. Particularly for conversations coming up that I need to have or conversations that I want to have. Much like Odette said, for rehearsal. Otherwise I don't talk to myself much.I contribute this to Gemini moon 9th Square a mercury/mars conjunction in Virgo, 12th IP: Logged |

Thank You Odette and DeepFreezeI would definitely do the same thing if I had a job interview or something like that. The thing is I find myself talking to myself a lot more even when I don't have anything to worry about or to rehearse for.Its a a bit pathetic and strange yet also at the same time very comforting.I find it very hard to quiet my mind. Perhaps I should talk my doctor about cognitive therapy. When I was a little bit younger there was a doctor who did try to introduce me to its methods who failed miserably. At the time I was all over the place and a little uncooperative.I told him it reminded me of dog training and that I didn't find it particularly helpful.I think the methods do make sense I think the problem I have is taking the time to sit down and think rationally about something.I am really terrible I can't sit still.Sometimes they even tried to get me to listen to relaxation tapes.I really did want them to calm me down but they just made me feel more bored and all they did was made me want to move around more and be anything but relaxed. I'm surprised at this since I have very little fire in my chart and am air void.Although I imagine my aspects and house placements don't help matters. I suppose I should be glad I don't have a lot of Gemini or Sagittarius in my chart.I would probably be bouncing off the walls. I'm sure your Aries Sun makes the combination of your Ac,Mercury and Uranus much more exciting Odette. Do you feel as if you live to communicate and express yourself because your Sun rules your 3rd house ? How does it feel to have your Ascendant on a critical degree Odette? DeepFreeze do you think the nervous energy of Virgo and Gemini makes you prone to burnout? You must have a sharp mind with your Mercury/Mars conjunction. I think my Mercury in Leo in the 10th is unaspected as I'm sure I read aspects to the angles don't count.Mercury is sextile to my Libra Ac.It isn't in a very good degree either Leo 25°36'53. The ruler of my 3rd house is Jupiter In Cancer in the 9th From what you both have said it would appear that the mutable signs are quite prone to this.Cadent houses seem to be linked to it as well. Mercury,Mars,Jupiter and Uranus seem to be relevant as well. I think what you both have said makes sense.I think that it is interesting that I have a loaded 3rd and 9th house which houses The Sun,Venus,Jupiter and Chiron. You both mentioned Gemini and Sagittarius Gemini is linked to the 3rd house and Sagittarius to the 9th house and Jupiter was also the traditional ruler of Pisces. My Venus is opposed by Uranus and Neptune and Jupiter and Chiron are opposed by Saturn.I also wonder if my 11th house Virgo Moon is also part of the mix so it also made sense that you mentioned Virgo Deepfreeze. I imagine the Energies of Uranus,Jupiter and Saturn energising and expanding and contracting are playing havoc with my higher and lower mind and communication skills. My Mercury isn't very strong and probably causes me to get bored easily or to fixate or become obsessional. IP: Logged |

I remember stuff and I don't know why. I remember from a video thread that you had Virgo but I kept thinking asc. There's that mars/mercury conjunction. LOL Oh yes, burnout for sure. It doesn't happen often but it can last a whole day and it's not pleasant to be around me. I get so grumpy because I just don't want to think, period. I think myself out to where I don't want to think of what to eat or anything. Absolutely nothing. I have talked to myself while hiking. Sometimes I go hiking if I'm stressed and I find that speech, even with myself, is very therapeutic. IP: Logged |

I have a pretty bad habit of it as well. The only thing I can think of is mercury (R) conjunct sun. One interpretation says "...there may be a lot of thinking, double-checking, and reviewing of thoughts and ideas before communicating them..." Mercury being in the sixth house makes it worse I think; I call it my inner monologue lol On the other hand I heard it might be a sign of intelligence rather than being crazy. So there's that? I think this past full moon in Leo, with Jupiter transiting in Leo, along with today's sun conjunct the Mars/Pluto midpoint...is making everyone kind of self-absorbed. Moreso than usual. It's kind of like, every man and woman for themselves....I actually scribbled in a journal today: "Solve your own problems." It's empowering when you don't rely on anyone else for guidance...just digging for your own truth, trusting your instincts. It's a good time for that, nowadays. Talking to yourself would be part of it. For me, it's done more in writing. (Saturn opposing Mercury, "capturing" everything.)

This is a good question! I've been talking to myself since I could remember lol I am an only child so maybe that's where it stems from..but I've done it for so long I haven't stopped much. I have Mercury in Gemini in the 10th opposing uranus in Sag in the 4th. They say Mercury/Uranus is the "genius" aspect and we just tend to say what we want and come off a bit eccentric..I'd say talking to oneself is eccentric IP: Logged |

@PLMore specifically I think it's this: quote: The ruler of my 3rd house is Jupiter In Cancer in the 9th
Your Jupiter is domicile and exalted. You can really trust your instincts and should talk to yourself. IP: Logged |

You have a great memory DeepFreeze. You might be thinking of my Ac because I think somebody commented on my Libra AC. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets really grumpy. Thank you Lilting Lilting that must be really difficult having your Mercury in the 6th house it must be like having Ocd if you obsess over something .I imagine you like routine and order and perfection. Its good to know we are all not crazy

Interesting I was just thinking about how many times I use 'I' on here and how I feel a little self-centered right now... lol quote: Originally posted by Panthera Leo: You have a great memory DeepFreeze. I do go on these little perfection benders especially when I'm starting something. Before I made an account I stared at my username for idk how long trying to decide if I should capitalize it or not. I try to convince myself my neurosis is endearing lol

Thanks FaithFaith I would say the Leo Full Moon by itself would be more than enough to bring out everyones inner diva/divo.Adding in the other planets and aspects would definitely add to it,it would definitely be the the law of jungle rules. I have to say that I think I did feel the energy of early degrees of the Full Moon when it touched my Sun very deeply.I can't really explain but I just felt as if I was wired to the Moon.Even though I may not have really knew what I was feeling. Also Neptune is trining my chart ruler Venus who also rules the 8th and 12th house.Mercury is opposing my Sun and coming up to my Ic.Perhaps I was a little to connected to their energies. I think full Moons are really powerful. I can remember one night when The full Moon was in Cancer and it was Near my Jupiter and Chiron and to make things more interesting I'm sure the Black Moon was near them as well.I had a hell of a day that day and when I looked up and saw the full moon I said I knew it that explains everything.I felt like a huge tidal wave of emotions that night I agree it is good to solve your own problems.

Huh! I have been feeling really mischievous, and restless. I can't get serious. I work, then hop over here and shoot something out, then back to work, then back over here... Thanks Faith. About talking to myself, I don't do it because I like my words to land somewhere. I perform. The only time I do talk to myself is when I am looking at myself in the mirror, and then it is the biggest, most dramatic scene ever, even bigger than talking to another person, but that isn't really talking to myself is it? That's me performing for myself... Leo Merc/Asc/Jupiter.
I overdo, these days more than ever...I also fear that LL is providing a very specific outlet for a very particular aspect of my own insanity.... I hereby Vow to stay away for a week. Sorry for the unrelated rant, but I really do vow. I had to say it somewhere. IP: Logged |

It's so sad watching people try to quit Lindaland. It gets a hold on people...reels them back in...years after they've "quit" they're back. There should be a warning on the main page: This Site Is Addictive. quote: I also fear that LL is providing a very specific outlet for a very particular aspect of my own insanity....

I mean, doesn't everyone talk to themselves? We like to act like it's so weird or quirky. But, everyone has conversations with themselves, to some degree. That's natural. Or am I just crazy? For people who do it much more than others, though, a strongly placed/influenced Mercury is most likely the culprit. Mine has a ton of aspects, all easy ones, too, and it just gives you such a long-winded stream-of-consciousness in your head that you can't help but talk to yourself. I don't do it out loud. Usually. But, I have amusing conversations with myself all the time. I would also list Gemini Moon, too. Because the Moon is your inner life and Gemini loves to talk and communicate and be intrigued. With the Moon, it becomes a deep need. And if a Gemini Moon can't find someone else to talk to, they'll talk to themselves, make themselves laugh, ask themselves interesting questions, etc. Moon-Mercury is similar. I have the sextile. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Quite often actually, not while I am with other people though. My brain is constantly going on and on like the energizer bunny. I attribute it to my Gemini moon in the 1st, mars square mercury/pluto.IP: Logged |
