So I heard a lot about Neptune transiting in 7th house. Mostly bad.
From what I've heard so far, common themes are
-> Falling in love with wrong people
-> Heartaches due to disappointments
-> get cheated on
-> break ups
and so on

Now my question is...
How does saturn effect this transit?
and.. do people with this transit initiate break ups? or do they get dumped on?

I apologize in advance for poor choice of words

Yeah, Neptune will also enter my 7th house soon :/ I guess much will depend on aspects transiting Neptune will make to your personal planets (esp. Venus, Moon, Sun) while in the 7th house. Also the time when it will conjunct your Descendant. These will be critical periods. I would read natal Saturn in the 7th house as a good sign here, it might make you generally more realistic when it comes to relationships and love, unless Saturn is severely challenged.

I myself wonder how to best deal with tr Neptune in the 7th, especially because it will opposite my Sun in the 1st house at some point...Other transits/progressions might provide some additional information about how the situation will evolve and they might reinforce or mitigate Neptune’s influence. For example, looking at other long-term transits, I noticed that tr Saturn will make many aspects to my personal planets during this long period as well, and at some point it will even conjunct my Neptune in the 4th house and trine my Sun, Venus, ASC… I really hope tr Saturn will make me more realistic and will mitigate Neptune’s undesirable influence.

I think that much will depend on what aspects the planets in the 12th house make in the natal chart as well as on Neptune aspects natally.
I have my Venus in the 12th house as well. The problem is that it trine my Neptune. Plus, I have Neptune square Sun... I blame these aspects for being very, very idealistic when it comes to love and for being susceptible to romantic illusion :/… I am now more aware of these energies but hard Neptune transits only make things worse.
I guess the best things that can mitigate Neptune is a strong Saturn influence in the natal chart or Pluto aspects that give a strong personality and can help resist romantic deception.
