No. Not necessarily... and definitely not to sexual signals. If the owner had a very serious problem with someone - if they felt scared, threatened, extremely angry etc. then the dog would be able to sense that and either ignore the other individual completely or become aggressive towards the individual to protect the owner.
But if the owner is neutral towards the other person... not necessarily "in love" - the dog/s can still be extra friendly, loving and jump all over you.
Dogs have personalities, just like people do and some are friendlier and more social than others. It depends on breed, age, the way they are treated at home, whether they are walked regularly and get lots of interaction - or not... There are many factors, including astrology.
My dog is very friendly. We bump into other dog walkers at the park - who I might not love or be very interested in - and my dog will still jump all over them, at times, to say hello. Or other times a stranger might randomly want to pat him and he'll still be friendly.
But it depends. He has a mind of his own. He likes and dislikes people mostly independently of what I feel towards them. He's an Aquarius with Aquarius Mars lol As I was saying - I would have to have a very strong reaction to someone - like strong fear - for my dog to be instantly "hateful" towards them.
There are people my dog simply snobs and is disinterested in, even if they try to play with him. I might think they are perfectly nice people - but he won't be interested in them for whatever reason. Dogs easily spot superficiality. If you genuinely love them - they'll be loving back. If you are putting on a show to impress your bf or someone, the dog will be like "Ummm... Right... I'll just stand over here now".
So I'm guessing the dogs simply liked you *for* you - not because of their owner
