Yes.

I definitely put up a front.
I act like I don't care, but really I do; and it sends out confusing messages to the other party. However, I'm scared of things going wrong. The other person knowing the intricacies of my life, just how sensitive I am and then being put off or using it against me.

I've only ever allowed myself to fall once, because I thought I could trust the person. Knew him a very long time, he grew up with me. That ended in heartbreak that I'm still trying to recover from. Feels like he ran off with the intimate parts of myself. Stuff that no body knows.

I think it is too.
For me, I just can't trust that people can handle the depths of my feelings. I don't neccessarily think it's about the the other person expressing love like I do, but I definitely don't feel comfortable sharing certain things, so when I do and the person goes, it's too deep for me.

I will answer for someone I know with this aspect: yes.

This person once suffered from a broken heart due to a cheating partner. That was 12 years ago and the scar is still there. Walls are up and come down SLOOOOOOWLY, only to come back up when fear of rejection is looming. Feelings run very deep but are hidden behind concrete.
