Saw white/gold first, then scrolled down, then saw blue/black.This has nothing to do with astrology however. Don't link astrology with everything please, this is exactly why astrology is seen as a scam. IP: Logged |

Outter planet transits can be responsible for events that impact on a large group of people. Just about everyone in the Western world has heard about this dress. It's well and truly gone viral. After finding out about it on this thread, I also saw it on the local news - and I'm in Australia. It makes perfect sense for the Sun/Neptune transit - because it reminds every average Joe - that everything in life is *relative*, not set in stone or *absolute* (As Saturn would like us to believe). And sometimes adult women eat haribos because they really like the taste. Emperors new clothes would fall under neptune transits too? IP: Logged |

I saw this yesterday. It's gold and cream. I mean who would make such a fancy, delicate looking dress in black and blue? IP: Logged |

But I see things going viral several times a week. This isn't any different, is it? IP: Logged |

The confusion can be linked to Sun/Neptune. I think it's funny. Not everything has to be dramatic, like a Pluto transit. IP: Logged |

I don't. I just happened to be on twitter, and saw that it was all about a dress. IP: Logged |

Yes, they would. What would be the natal aspects or transits for someone trampling over a little bit of fun, that does relate to astrology happening right now? IP: Logged |

For transits - something Saturn related, moon squares, mercury squares, mars squares, perhaps Something that indicates being personally annoyed with large amounts of people being influenced by something. My aqua mercury bff hates when things like this happen, just like he hates when bands get popular and hates Facebook etc. Lol I love him

The lighting is why people are confused. At first I thought Blue and Brown/Gold but it's the lighting that's messing with the color. The company that makes it confirmed that it is indeed Blue and Black. The things that go viral really scare me. What has the world come to lol! Not understanding the astrology association though. It's so cool that this is happening while the Sun is conjunct Neptune! And people roll their eyes when you talk about astrology... It's such a cool phenomenon. When I first saw the dress, it was white and gold, but a few hours later, I saw black and blue. As of this moment, it's white (blue-tinged) and gold (murky brown). What you see is based on your emotional state, right? IP: Logged |

No, not fun. But you'd have to be aware of it to see it, Ps op, you're not that important to me. I wasn't making a slight on you but on the topic or not even that in fact but human nature .... IP: Logged |

I'm not sure. I don't think neuroscientists and philosophers have studied the emperor's new clothes quite as much as they've studied color. And I doubt that women eating haribos - has nearly as much to do with the status of 'consciousness' as either physical, partially physical or non-physical -- as color-perception does. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/color/ This is a famous thought-experiment that often comes up in the consciousness debates: quote: Mary's Room is a thought experiment that attempts to establish that there are non-physical properties and attainable knowledge that can be discovered only through conscious experience. It attempts to refute the theory that all knowledge is physical knowledge.
quote: The experiment is intended to argue against physicalism — the view that the universe, including all that is mental, is entirely physical.
quote: Mary is a brilliant scientist who is, for whatever reason, forced to investigate the world from a black and white room via a black and white television monitor. She specializes in the neurophysiology of vision and acquires, let us suppose, all the physical information there is to obtain about what goes on when we see ripe tomatoes, or the sky, and use terms like ‘red’, ‘blue’, and so on. She discovers, for example, just which wavelength combinations from the sky stimulate the retina, and exactly how this produces via the central nervous system the contraction of the vocal chords and expulsion of air from the lungs that results in the uttering of the sentence ‘The sky is blue’.… What will happen when Mary is released from her black and white room or is given a color television monitor? Will she learn anything or not? It seems just obvious that she will learn something about the world and our visual experience of it. But then is it inescapable that her previous knowledge was incomplete. But she had all the physical information. Ergo there is more to have than that, and Physicalism is false.

Odette .. It's not that I don't think colour is subject to perception. I do. And I can theoretically 'believe' people actually see white & gold. But I don't believe it in the immediate even though, allowing for the theoretical, I believe I am potentially wrong. before it gets to that and this is my real point, I'd have to eliminate any human psychological twistedness. Same, except the opposite! I don't believe anyone who says they see straight up black. So ridiculous! ( the situation - not the different perspectives ) IP: Logged |
