Hello all!
I've been slowly getting to know a lovely Cancer man over the last few months. He is 20 years older than me but we have a great connection. We met while walking our dogs. He's extremely shy and reserved but has started to open up to me. He invited me for a coffee then I invited him. We arrange to meet each other for walks and talk non-stop. He rings me and texts me a lot. He has never directy flirted with me but his body language tells a different story. He tilts his head at me when I talk, makes lots of eye contact, blushes, seems nervous, babbles a lot, laughs loudly at my jokes, always keen to help me out and see me. I have never said anything suggestive to him and vice versa but I swear I can feel sexual tension. Something twinkly in his eyes, it's the way he looks at me then quickly looks away! Do you think he sees me as a friend or something more? How can I ask him this without making a complete fool of myself? I'm usually brave but my Leo pride is terrified of rejection!

This sounds so sweet. My guess is he's interested. He's probably more afraid of rejection than you are. The age difference, with you being 20 years younger would likely make him fear rejection more.

On the other hand, he could like you but be afraid of the age difference. The older partner usually understands where the younger partner is in his or her life. If he was kind of unsettled and maybe exploring when he was your age, even if you don't seem to be unsettled, he'll consider that.

But overall it just sounds really nice!

I know about Leo pride and Cancer sensitivity. I'd say that the Cancer is at greater risk.

Maybe suggest that you hang out doing something else besides waking dogs?

A night out, bowling if you like that or whatever!
Good way to gauge him, break out of the routine and see how he responds.
All without asking directly!

I'd say he likes you BUT, it still doesn't mean that he'd act on it.
I know first hand there's a lot of things that go with big age differences. One being dealing with preconceptions that may even come from close friends and family which is probably all things that he'll be thinking about.

Thank you both for your replies. I quoted the above because I wondered what you meant? Cancer is at greater risk of what?

Thank you for your insight!

Hi greeneyedleogirlie (love your name)

I meant that the Cancer is at greater risk of injury from rejection. Not to say Leos don't have feelings. It's just that Leos are naturally more extroverted, and very good at picking themselves up and brushing themselves off, even if their pride gets hurt.

Since Leo is so good at making friends and socializing Leo can find people and things to distract her from her recent disappointment. It's just not that way for Cancer. It's harder for him to bounce back. He doesn't suffer from wounded pride and disappointment, alone. It's closer to heartbreak. Yes, even if it was only a love interest. Depends on what he's entertaining in his thoughts when you aren't together. It depends on how much he is invested emotionally. You never know, it could be quite a bit. I'm a Cancer Sun Leo rising.

Anyway, I'm just talking about the Sun signs, not taking into account other placements that could change the dynamic.

I like DeepFreeze's suggestion.

Well then Venus, I am just the opposite of you! I am Leo Sun, Cancer rising. Oh and Cancer moon.
I totally agree about Leo having lots of friends and being able to bounce back. However, I also have Cancer sensitivity so I can see both sides. He's separated so has been burnt before - I'm picking up that he's incredibly wary of jumping in!
