Maybe it's a certain perfume she likes, an author whose books she reads a lot. Has she been talking about some of the things that catch her that she would like? Maybe a tour at a winery or a seat at the chef's table in a restaurant, where they serve phenomenal food. A trick would be, start to really listen to her and see what comes up or do some observations while you visit with her. IP: Logged

One of our favorite things to do is to try out a new restaurant - she is Yelp queen, I tell ya! She will chat up an owner of a restaurant and a chef, if she could. We've known each other since high school (20+ year), we are very good friends. Funny you should say that about conversations because one of the last things we spoke about when we saw one another was taking a vacation, one of the last things we spoke about on the phone was a weekend getaway. So, yeup, the theme is vacation. Little does she know – we are having a surprise baby shower for her. Her husband (Gemini Sun, Aries Moon, Virgo Ascendant) specifically said that the new baby (#4) doesn’t need anything and if we wanted to get anything, get something specifically for her. Sooooo, I think I'll get her a gift certificate for the day of the shower, make plans with her to go away for the weekend after her birthday next month, and/or secure a plan with her to do the CA trip in October. We could both use it. God/Allah willing. p.s. I'm not comfortable with the perfume idea - it's just weird (to me). How can you pick a scent for someone else when you don't know what it will smell like on them or how it will take to their skin? I mean, unless you know for sure what they use and she doesn't. Her skin is pretty sensitive. Besides, the only people I've bought any type of scents for (perfume or oils) were family members and I already knew what they liked. As for the book - nah, she does not have time for that but I can totally see purchasing a book for her husband since I know he is an avid reader, she is not. She and I already tried to do the - let's start a 1x a month book review thing - yeah, that worked for 2.5 seconds. IP: Logged
