why is is that some people have an easier time expressing themselves artistically (including music) vs others? What indicates easy creative expression throughout the chart? Aspects? Signs? Houses? Etc???IP: Logged |

I think we are all creative -to a certain extent in our various ways. But people with 5th house emphasized, may be preoccupied with being creative and expressing their inner creativity a lot. Saturn in 5th tends to make the person fear expressing their creativity. Convinced that there are people who have their talent of can do it "better" etc. Some may even downplay their talents a lot or say that they do not have any. Pluto/Mars in 5th may project themselves towards expressing themselves and getting themselves "out there". Neptune in 5th may be very talented. But terribly shy and inhibited in expression. Sun/Moon/Venus in 5th may use their talent to make a living. They may not even see it as a "talent". Or at-least take it for granted because they incorporate so much of their personality in being creative. Jupiter in 5th may have many talents. But rarely capitalizes on them. maybe even wasting them or not knowing which to specialize in?

This is a difficult one to answer clearly. Partly because I believe people have music/at come more easily when they have spent lifetimes doing it, developing such abilities.Yes, there are birth chart indicators, but a good portion of the time they don't show up until a thorough, quite technical, accurate rectification has been done. Factors like a planet being in near exact parallel/contra-parallel to 5th cusp, or other angular aspects like conjunctions, squares to the 5th cusp; planetary ruler/significator of the correct 5th house cusp sign being near the MC or in aspect (usually angular) in longitude or declination. There are a number of ways this can show up. With some charts it is more obvious -- a cluster of planets in the 5th or 11th. 5th house = creative drives/output/activities. 11th = audience/organizations promoting development of the arts. And in my experience, the more Bi-quintiles (BQ), the better. They indicate a rich history of creative potential. These potentials may be used in any of a number of ways. They are not skill set specific in my view. I think all of us go through lifetimes that emphasize creativity more through particular astrological urges/influences. This is to develop those creative powers in this dimension that are innate to being a piece of the Creator. So a person may have a 5th house stellium, but never gain notoriety as an artist, but always maintain artistic efforts, even teach art. Also childlike spontaneity and free flow of feelings. If we live too long in our brains and in a superimposed 'order' for living, routines, etc, we can lose touch with the creative flowing nature of life itself. That is choice, not astrology. ------------------ Professional astrology - Expert rectification http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/ Rising Sign descriptions: https://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/rising-signs-2/ IP: Logged |

Creativity manifests in many fields, but what I'm aware of pertains to music.Liz Greene has an extensive list of composers in her Neptune book. Almost all of them have Sun, Moon, or Saturn in major aspect to Neptune. The one exception I recall is Maurice Ravel, who had a Sun-Moon conjunction in Pisces and Venus square Neptune. I did a little research recently on another thread with her book in mind. All composers mentioned in that thread had Sun, Moon, Venus, or Saturn in major aspect to Neptune, and one Saturn-Neptune quincunx. Almost half had Sun square Neptune. The great Charles Carter, whose book "Astrological Aspects" I still have referred to Venus-Neptune as "the artist's combination." I would add Saturn-Neptune. Expanding the question to include a historical collective perspective, I have found periods of extraordinary cultural creativity as far as music is concerned to be aligned with the Uranus-Pluto cycle and its aftermath, i.e., the music of the 1960s. Good points, peony. I absolutely agree about Venus-Neptune, Moon-Neptune, Sun-Neptune, and if the Asc is accurate, Asc-Neptune. I've been a poetry writer for 31 years. My natal chart has Venus-Mars opp Neptune (and Mercury widely opp. Neptune), and Asc Quintile Neptune. These are aspects of inspiration, conceptualism. ------------------ Professional astrology - Expert rectification http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/ Rising Sign descriptions: https://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/rising-signs-2/ IP: Logged |

I have Venus square Neptune. Neptune trine Saturn (A couple of other aspects but those above were mentioned in this thread) But... no outlet. I feel it inside me but I feel a sort of, disconnect between what's inside and putting it into the physical world. A lack of talent, impatience, and lack of confidence that talent can be developed or appreciated. But internally I'm bursting. (Drawing, painting, and entertainment such as acting) IP: Logged |

So burst! All over everything with words and color and whatever is in there! That's what we are here for -- to create. Forget about 'good' or 'undeveloped.' We are creators and it puts us in the flow of life. ------------------ Professional astrology - Expert rectification http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/ Rising Sign descriptions: https://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/rising-signs-2/ IP: Logged |

DeepFreeze, is this your Virgo speaking? Is it possible you're being too self-critical? IP: Logged |
