I'm very spiritual its the air I breathe.

-How materialistic are you?

I can be without material things even food. I can enjoy material things as we all live on earth and its natural. But I'm more spiritual than material.

-What gives your life meaning?

Knowing that I'm here for a mission and that human life isn't permanent or real but only one aspect of me is. I try to stay connected to that one aspect.

-Have you ever experienced an emotional catharsis and what was the cause of it?

Yes when my chakras were cleansed by God.

-What do you hate and fear the most?

I don't hate anything and I don't fear anything either.

-Describe your utopia(optional)

Heaven on earth.

-Describe your dystopia (optional)

Its the world around us for the most part... Currently. I don't like it but its where humanity is in their evolution.

I only have a few from my teens and a few today. Not many.

Not much.

Lack of innocence that people have and lack of love.

Pluto in Virgo... The 60's... The generation of Pluto-Uranus

Religion... We're the generation that started searching for the spirituality that seemed to be lost in Leo Pluto. Probably the beginning of Religion a-la-carte. We want it practical, personal, and with freedom.

Materialistic - personally, I like my toys, and by that I mean tech. I'm in the computer field. Books, movies, songs, as befits my Gemini sun's need to consume information. Truly material things that I value most are family heirlooms with little physical value - 8th house sun among others...

Meaning... Relationships. Memories. Experiences.

Emotional Catharsis.. I suppose music would be my most common release.

Hate and Fear... Oppression, injustices by authority, Loneliness, Lovelessness

It's so integrated into my life it's hard for me to quantify it. Not that I'm a nun or anything, it's only one facet.

I observed religions growing up but generally didn't like what I saw, and thankfully I've only rarely been dragged to a church (and those times really reinforced my not wanting to be part of one, though the Russian Orthodox one I visited for a time was beautiful, though not convincing to me in the least).

I had a vision of Freya when I was 15 (and some interesting transits, which I described here) though I'm sure many factors went into why I had the vision I did (I believe the most relevant ones summed up in my post on February 25, 3:40 AM here).

Even so I found it both utilitarian/useful for the practical world (note, I don't divide the physical and spiritual the way most people do) and also because my Sag & Libra influences (modified by my Scorpio Jupiter) want to understand. I don't want to have faith, I want to know and understand, even if it's not pretty (and sometimes it's not). This lead me to dropping the neopaganism I'd picked up and becoming ignostic (not to be confused with agnostic).

IOW, for about the same reason I explore and develop many other facets of my life.

Note, love comes in many forms and I rarely mean romantic love when I speak for myself, or if I do then it's just one type of love. (ETA: while I'm at it I thought I'd point out I'm not for unconditional love. Last thing I'd ever want to tell someone or be told is "your existence brings me more grief than joy and that shall never change but I love you anyway.")

And pleasure includes that of learning, creating, accomplishing, and many other things, not just that of flesh, food, and fun.

Such catharsis comes from multiple sources: a trip on shrooms that gave me incredible insight to myself, the vision of Freya following the death of my best friend, the many practices at age 17 too numerous to name, a kundalini like experience, and the slow process of inner work as well as communing with the spirit of someone who I believe put a piece of his soul into me when I was 15 (to the point I gained his nightmares from his time in the Vietnam War).

I think self-righteous evil. I define evil as getting ahead (or even gaining pleasure) by willfully harming others, in this case either in making them second class citizens to outright violence (be it criminal or sanctioned), war, inquisitions. And when self-righteous they not only fail to feel guilt, they actually feel righteous about it and can even feel guilty for NOT being evil (thinking that by being evil they're being good). Though I'm also very, very baffled by some of the random violence of people that make absolutely no sense. If their brains just go totally haywire just randomly then mine can do the same, and so can anyone else, even my best friend who I trust completely or that cop's or President of the United States. But should I ever come to understand it then I'll (probably) fear it less.

Not many close friends these days, I'm pretty busy for that and also don't seek a plethora of perspectives as I used to.

I'm fine with how many I have, and always have been. I've preferred quality to quantity but in the past I had a wide range of friends because I loved the variety they offered. They serve the purpose of helping me learn, entertaining me (and allowing me to entertain), being there for each other, and sharing.

Not many are like this, but for me sharing pain can lessen it, while sharing joy (including laughter) can increase it for all involved. Until I realized how rare this was I considered this proof that humanity was fairly benevolent deep down as the perfectly "selfish" thing to do is be a good friend as it increases the happiness of all involved.

I'm not as religious as I am spiritual. I'm a non-denominational Christian, but I have other beliefs too that don't necessarily coincide with Christian teachings (e.g. past lives and stuff)

I am pretty materialistic, but I do not like material things provided to me. I like to earn them with my own hard work and money (2nd house sun). I love to show off whatever I have that I think is an amazing thing to have.

Happiness, love, and learning about why things exist and just things in general.

I don't think I've experienced that yet. I think I still have a few repressed emotions that are bound to get out soon. I just don't know what they are.

My utopia is an amazing world outside the universe where everything and anything is possible and where the purest of the good is.

I have many friends and acquaintances, but only a few true and really close ones that I consider actual "friends". My friends, so far, have been the type of people who bring fun, joy, excitement, and celebration into my life--something that my family lacks. They're my tunnels through which I escape my boring family life from (my direct family, not the extended one).

-What you miss most about your childhood

The awesome family parties my grandpa and grandma threw, vacations with my cousins, having servants doing things for me (not gonna lie lol), playing outside and having fun with my neighbors/friends, excitement for learning, not giving a sh*t about the rest of the world because I was too busy living in the moment.

-What hurt you the most as a child

There was barely anything that hurt me as a child, considering I was a very happy one. If anything, it would be harsh criticisms, but those don't haunt me anymore.

To answer your questions ...

I am spiritual, not religious. New agey/nature-based. It could be summed up this way: God is Love, so Love = God. The unconditional sort, that is.

Grew up in fundamentalist/evangelical Baptist home and left that at age 19. Attended Unity one year. Was a Unitarian-Universalist for 5 years. But I'm just not religious enough or invested enough in institutions. I keep my own connection directly to Spirit and relate to everyone as equally/openly as I can.

I'm not materialistic at all. I'm very minimalist in my lifestyle and expectations. Wealth is found in relation to nature, life, Spirit, people and our animals and in the spirit of sharing -- the abundance that life gives us naturally if we don't destroy it.

Those things give my life meaning ...
And my marriage with my best friend; being able to share the knowledge I've gained over the years with friends and family; Community -- I love the community in which I live. Its the best place I've ever been and I'm very happy with it and enjoy the opportunities in it. Village environment, parks, libraries, local coffee shops and other interactions with local proprietors. Near the mountains and the beautiful Oregon coast.

Yes, I have experienced something of an emotional catharsis, although not of the dramatic sort like people imagine that to be. It was slower and is in some ways ongoing. Not a sudden regurgitation of old intense emotions, but a slow bubbling to the surface of old things no longer relevant. The cause of it was being a human being parented by imperfect people who loved me the best they knew how and by old soul burdens from many lifetimes of my own living.

I hate and fear nothing and no one. Thoughts of fears pop up in my mind like when crossing the street the thought that a car could blindside me. But I do not believe those thoughts and do not 'go into them.' I've learned to identify them as instinctive or learned fear and to simply give it no power.

There is no fear in Love for perfect Love casts out all fear.

I don't believe in utopia. Utopia was a separate place where the ideal was preserved as money hoarded in a bank. Those places, known to us generally as communes too easily become cults and are too separatist for me and too often fail their own ideals.

I'm just too practical for that. But my ideal vision of the world is spreading greenness, reforestation, forestation of barren areas and abundance for all humanity. Desalination of ocean waters to meet a great portion of the world's local/regional water needs. Access to all of nature without prohibitions by law. Green, green, green growth in rural and urban areas alike. Capitalism is closely regulated. Banks are kept in their place. Social safety nets exist the world over to catch the poor from falling into permanent cracks of poverty and social discontent. Socio-economic balance.

Dystopia? Corporatocracy. Technocracy. Plutocracy.

I have one best friend -- my wife. I about 3 friends whom I have adopted as part of my extended family. (That reminds me I need to call my little brother). The rest qualify only as acquaintances or people who are part of my activist/community activity networks. No friends left from childhood days.

I miss nothing about my childhood. Maybe baseball.

What hurt me the most as a child was being laughed at by one of my parents when I announced my first girlfriend as a pre-schooler; ill-defined high expectations I felt I could never meet; fundamentalist attitudes towards sex that started a wildfire of guilt and shame in my adolescence; having my privacy invaded by parents; authoritarian parental demands emphasized over sympathy and encouragement; being kept on a parental leash and not allowed to explore the neighborhoods in which we lived; corporal punishment, often delivered in rage or hysteria, which was always over 'kids-will-be-kids' stuff.

Have never been religious, but am very spiritual. Always have been, since I can remember, but ignored it and doubted up until 2 years ago. I've now started integrating spirituality into my daily life.
Why? I deeply sense there's more to reality than we capture with our limited physical senses. I've always seen people as strong restless spirits striving for growth and perfection within a world of matter. How they define growth and perfection varies, but there's something in humans which constantly drives them to push the boundaries of the material world. There's more to us than just our physical bodies.

Not at all and never have been. Twice. The first time I got my heart ripped out brutally, which uncovered the vast number of self worth issues I had hidden in my subconscious. I worked through them and am now a completely different, stronger and happier person. It happened when Pluto transited over my Uranus, Saturn, Sun and Neptune.
The 2nd time I was living a content life and an emotional catharsis hit me out of nowhere (Pluto was again involved), which ultimately made me realise I had steered away from my soul and had fallen into mindless inertia. This was also a very transformational period for me.
