The sun is the I am , the basic personality traits, its who you are. The venus is who you want to be, your values, what you love, and how you express your love. When Sun is in Leo and Venus is in leo and there's a conjunction then the person loves being a Leo because who they are and what they love are in the same sign.. but there becomes an issue when Venus is a different sign than Sun. For me for example I'm a leo with virgo venus. I want to be humble and pure, i don't want to be the center of attention i like to serve selflessly these are all qualities i admire... but my sun is in leo and so I do feel i'm egotical, arrogant , vain and then i know i want attention so these two signs really crash with each other and I find i just do not really like myself very much!! My critical virgo venus judges my sun in leo (also moon in leo) So anytime I want to be a leo my virgo venus slams me down and i'm basicallly completely rejecting my leo.. I had the leo venus conjunct my leo sun for a very long time in my progressed chart so I did have some high self esteem for a while, and then when that ended I started to have this issue.. before i was very proudly a leo, dressed like a leo etc but now my style has subdued and i cover myself up and don't allow myself to be sexual or even dress glamoursly like I did before. but i feel this IS ME!! now i just feel so uncomfortable because my virgo is criticizing my leo so much. How do i reconcile this issue??? I guess using the polar opposite energy of Pisces, unconditional love and acceptance??

My friend has virgo sun and leo venus opposite of me.. she acts egotistical, she is very self assured and confident but also very critical like a virgo.. she loves being a virgo which is strange.. since she is a leo, she doesn't even like leo's.. her mom is a leo so she just doesn't like them.. so that doesn't go with the Venus description.. i wonder why??? her venus is late degree too. I remember even before I knew my natal chart i would look up the horoscopes in the magazine and look up the description of virgo and really wish I was a virgo.. so interesting.. now I wish i was more Pisces and I don't know why?? I really admire the evolved Pisces energy of going with the flow of life and unconditional love and acceptance, their sensitivity and empathy etc. so beautiful.

What signs are your sun and venus? do you admire the sign qualities of your venus and sun? do you like your venus sign more than your sun and how does it effect you??

How could your Virgo Venus be Leo in a progressed chart? Impossible.

NOPE. Actually, it may be my least favorite sign and I even have a prominent 5th house.

First you say she's a Virgo. Then she's a Leo. What is she then?

Capricorn Sun conjunct Uranus. Aquarius Venus conjunct Saturn. Yes, I admire myself very much I even have Sun conjunct DSC ruler. What I should theoretically long for is already in me. Gimme my clone now

I hear ya. I have Sun in Sag, Scorpio Venus.

I think that when in love and romanticizing about a partner, my Scorpio Venus comes out.

This is not to say that I love all Scorpio's. Most of my relationships have been with air signs-mostly Gemini/Libra.

But I do realize that I act like a Scorpio when in love or showing affection; intense, sexual, become the psychologist, deal well with crisis, emotional, insist on intimacy and don't forgive easily etc.

I don't think that there is any chasm between the two actually. As the Sun is more "general" ;like a memorandum of the business i.e why the business exists.

The Venus is more detail focused i.e part of the business operations etc. and is more off earthly love/romantic love and the appreciation/extension of the appreciation of others strictly from a self-gratifying point of view.

Sun is the principle of conscious love and love that is impersonal and not limited to relationships etc. It is the love of self and connected more to Godhead.

Sun is devoid of eroticism and fixates only on the evolving SELF. It is not interested in joining others unless the "joining' enhances the knowledge/ remembering of self(spiritually)

When in death, whom we love will not matter. All that will matter is that we have peace(Sun).

When still alive, whom we love always matters. And for many of us there is no peace. Not unless we find the perfect "other" (Venus).

Gemini Sun, Cancer Venus (and Mars by the way).

I don't like having stuff in Cancer it seems odd in my chart. And it makes me feel vulnerable too.
But one of my best friends ever was a Cancer sun. We were like sisters, our friendship lasted 7 years.

I love my Sun and since I have Mercury in Gem as well. I really like laughing, talking and making friends. Yay! :-))My closest friends (2) are all Gemini as well. Our birthdays are in the same week. Imagine how wild our parties are haha

I personally wouldn't worry too much about this. Most people actually have Venus in a different sign than their Sun sign. It's a bit rare to have Venus in the same sign (even rarer to have the Sun conjunct Venus). It produces contradictions and conflicts, at times, yes, but that's part of human nature.

I guess that's why love and life is so complicated.

Aquarius sun, venus in pisces.

Sometimes I love it, sometimes I wish I had venus in aries conjunct my moon. lol.

Most of the time, I love how my sun sign and venus sign blend/work together. Although sometimes my Sun sign's overwhelmed when my venus takes over (it's water sign right?).

That's interesting I've always thought that the Sun/Venus conjunction was quite a common aspect to have in someone's chart..

Depends on your definition of "common"

In theory and using some "cocktail napkin" math...

Given 3° orb allowed

Venus should be conjunct sun roughly 6 times out of 96 or a little over 6% of the time

Other planets (excluding Mercury) would be conjunct the sun 6 out of 360 or a little under 2% of the time

The proportions change based on orb allowed.

Not impossible at all if the Venus in the natal chart is in retrograde (and, likely in earlier degrees of Virgo)

In all honesty, I like my Leo sun more than my Virgo venus. For some reason, the rest of my chart loves the Leo more because it's confident and proud. I find it that I dislike the critical qualities of my venus because it makes me very judgmental and it makes me feel like I don't deserve anything. This really sucks sometimes because my ego knows I deserve a lot of things, but when they come to me, my venus is like, "Do I really deserve this? I'm just a mere peasant blah blah blah." In the past year, I have gotten over that and I am glad because I can finally be who I really am... a confident and regal lioness.

Well, think of it this way. There are five possible Venus signs for every Sun sign. For example, a Leo Sun can have Venus in Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, or Libra. So, the odds are, more often than not, the Sun and Venus will be different. I come across way more people with these two planets in different signs. Having the Sun and Venus in the same sign, then, is a pretty fortunate influence, especially if they're conjunct.

It's not super rare or anything but it's not exactly the norm, either.

I'm an Aries with Venus in Pisces. I'm tough and courageous, but underneath it all, I can feel the unconditional love from Venus. Somebody looked at my chart and saw a tough outside and soft inside. I would far rather have my Venus over the polar opposite. The nitpicky Virgoness would drive me around the bend......

Well I am Scorpio Sun with conunct ASC so even though I fit the textbook definition of a Scorpio I have Venus in Sagittarius conjunct Neptune. I am very light hearted in my relationships at first...I like to have fun, I like intellectual conversations. I fall in love easily and fall out of love easily which isn't very Scorpio. So when it comes to relationships at first I am very Sagittarius. Also I am very temperamental which I think I attribute to Sagittarius...I am a feisty lady. And most of my past lovers sought out women with strong personalities since they were a bit the 'nice guys'. However once I live with someone I think I am more of my Sun with Moon(Aquarius). I think my fun and enjoyments are primarily Sagittarius related-studies: philosophy, art, foreign places...

Since there are less potential signs for Venus to be in and it moves relatively quickly, I think it not exactly rare.

And for scientific proof ( ) I have 10 people in my Astro list. 3 have Sun/Venus in the same sign, 2 of them have the conj.

Haha, nice. I guess I should say that I rarely see that placement. Check out this thread, even. Almost everyone has both in a different sign. It just seems to be more the norm, to me. But, of course, you wonderful Sun/Venus in the same sign people do exist!

It's probably just me. I'm lucky a that I have high percentage of same sun/venus. LOL Actually, I'm not even sure if it's bad or good. Seems neutral. I know at least one of them would be thrilled if he could date himself. :P

I also come across "lots" of sun conj merc people. I wonder if that is more or less common.

I like my Venus sign more than Sun. My Venus is in Leo, and I always find myself fascinated by woman in Leo Sun/Asc sign.
Leo is a part of me which I really appreciate, doesn't matter if it defines just one part of my life (love/romance/relationships). Since Leo has a strong influence over any person (when it occupates his/her chart even slightly).
I love myself when I'm acting like Leo and I admire that part of me which expresses love like it's golden and roars to the world how happy and grateful I can be
