Have you guys tried to overcome the effects of your planets that are in detriment and in fall? If so, how was your experience? And how did you guys do it?

That would be my Cap Moon in 5H and Leo Saturn in 11H. I think I've got the swing on my Moon but there are some things with my Saturn I need to work on.

I don't think you can do anything about it quite frankly though you can 'pretend' that something could be changed. You & I and everyone else who has it has drawn a short stick and we are stuck with it. The planets will act out what it is. If you are a rabbit, you can't eat like a lion...if you know what I mean.

Not to say that I've overcome them.
However, accepting that I have them. My focus goes to them. I remain aware of how they are hurting me. It's like taking a class, on life. LOL

Example, Virgo mars in 12. I'm learning to not hold in until I boil but to assert myself more consistently rather than just exploding one day.
In the back of my mind I regularly ask myself questions in order to keep an eye on this behavior.
It takes effort!

@astra7

I know the planets will manifest themselves either way. What I mean by "overcome", is how do we learn the lessons brought upon us by these struggling planets? There's always free will.

Like for example, I have Mars in Libra and I really admire people with Mars in Aries because they have the initiative to do things, the willpower to get things done, and the ability to say no. That is something I would like to incorporate into my personality (and have been trying to), although it is a struggle.

@DeepFreeze

I agree it is like taking a class and takes a lot of effort. I guess I never thought of "accepting" my detriment and fall planets because instead of acceptance, I look onto their opposite to learn what I should do.

I don't think you can overcome them, per se. I think you can try to accentuate your strengths. I have a Cancer Mars and I can feel it's sluggish nature and it's desire to internalize passions/anger/aggression etc. It puts emotions into the stomach, which is very hard too lol

Yeah, maybe "acknowledge" would be a better word choice.

Like previous poster has said, you can only accept what it is. Can't change planets' energy.

Thanks, Ami. I never thought about using my strengths because I focus on fixing what's wrong (virgo mercury lol). I do have quite a couple of dignified planets that top all the detrimental ones in my chart. And I even have my detriment and fall planets in good houses, so I think in a way, what you said could help me work with them.

Yes, S

I have very strong strengths and many strong weaknesses too lol

I am an earth void so not very grounded on the earth and disorganized.

I have many other weaknesses but my strengths help to give me confidence and I try to use these to help others, which allows love to flow from me to others and back to me, which is God's great economy for happiness in life!

I have Mars in Pisces in the sixth. I overcame it by eating healthy foods and taking exceptional care of my body and rejecting the american diet. I'm also a vegetarian.. almost a vegan I do eat cheese sometimes.

That's the physical aspect of it. The spiritual aspect is I rejected any impure inheritance from my family by recognizing it and healing it and trying to help them heal it.

I also have Moon in Capricorn. I healed this by telling my mother how much she hurt me and also recognizing that she herself was in pain and wasn't able to love me properly. What also helped me to heal is being gratfeul for the wisdom gained in not feeling loved by her. It complelled me to love myself instead of feeling like a victim. Today our relationshi is much better... And being self sufficient in this way is a very beautiful gift she gave me.

What ultimaltely heals is pure divine love and knowing that all imperfection is a temporary appearance that we must bring back into perfection.

Unluckily, I have three falls in my natal chart: Moon in Scorpio, Venus conbusted by Sun in Virgo, Mars in Cancer. Luckily, Moon is in the 3rd house conjunct Uranus, Venus in the 1st house conjunct Sun/NN/ASC, Mars in the 11th house trine Moon and Uranus, which help improve the fall condition. Otherwise, I would be a person who is very possesive, critical and emotional with bad temper.

Mercury in Pisces in 7th. I overcome it by writing. It makes me really happy being able to perfect my writing. I always put a strong emotional tone to my writing. My style gets me better in touch with myself. A piece of myself is always in what I write, but I can have a degree of detachment. It's a curse in a sense... haha. I can fear what I think, when I get closer to my emotions. NN in Scorpio in 3rd house, go figure.

I like how both mercury's depositors aspect my mercury.

Yes.

By my mid-30s I realized that Moon in Capricorn was no longer serving me and based on the perspective found in the Kryon material about our ability to change anything about ourselves that we want to, I started changing that. I'd admired what I saw for many years in those near me (mostly women) who had Moon in Libra and knew this is what I wanted to develop. So I used astrology as a language to communicate to the universe and inward to my own DNA about this change.

These changes of personality/body take a long time to be fully realized. Many years. Its not magic wand abracadabra.

And it is not based on a rejection of something about yourself, as in, "I hate having Moon in Capricorn!" Well, then you'll have to live with it until you appreciate it. Struggling against it won't create transformation.

In the Kryon material this is referred to as your right and falls generally under the notion of co-creation. There is no ultimate division between materiality and Spirit. So not only can you enact an intention to change, but you can elicit Spirit's help to do so. But it must come from a place of self-acceptance, not rejection of anything about yourself.

Instead, it is more a sentiment of, 'this is not the real me' or 'this no longer serves me.' There is a detachment that first occurs after coming to acceptance of it. If you're not there yet, then it cannot be transcended. Keep working with that astrological factor until you've used it up.

Not really, I just work with what I got. Trying to be something I'm not is not living holistically in my view, I don't have a problem with transformation but trying to change yourself to fit into some "normal" is not me. Having a planet in detriment means you do things differently, I don't see anything bad about that. In the long run, I see many people with detriments doing good things in life, so I think it works itself out subconsciously as the life progresses and one ages. I can say this is true for me, I'm getting more direct as I get older, but I still will never be in your face direct like they say Mars should act, I'm okay with that because that is not me anyways. I'm a much quieter person, so my Mars is quiet too.

I don't really care about detriments, I have seen far too many people with supposedly exalted planets not act in the best light either, so to me it's all pretty much based on the individual's willpower and soul as far as changes goes.

I don't know if I consider my Moon in Capricorn a true detriment. It has Saturn conjunct exact and I appreciate the very sober mind that I have.

The world has plenty of emotional, empathetic people to fill that role. I'm very happy to be the practical, calculating one to push everything forward. I'll make the hard decisions that need to be made because everyone else is caught up with the other difficulties. Sometimes you just need a person like me and sometimes you don't.

I accepted my Moon in Capricorn when I decided a good person isn't someone that is empathetic and emotional. A sense of rightness, justness, and honor is just as good. And, perhaps, a willingness to take blame for decisions that need to be made.
