I've been doing some thinking, in light of Libra Moon-gate, , and I have realized just how much the effects of Saturn in Sagittarius are all over this board. I think, as astrologically aware people, we are very in tune with the current transits, whether we realize it or not, and they show up in these conversations.Saturn transits affect us ALL and have something to teach us all. They can bring out the negative side of the sign and show us how limiting and self-defeating those negative traits are. And what is the negative side of Sagittarius? Being overly opinionated, biased, and self-righteous. I think Saturn in Sagittarius is here to show us that we're TOO entitled to our own opinion, in ways that prevent humility, maturity and growth. We throw around these sayings all the time: "I'm entitled to my own opinion", "I'm just speaking my mind", "I'm not going to tell people what they want to hear." It makes us all sound kind of stupid, after a point, because it makes us stop listening to facts and reason. Well, throughout these next couple of years of Saturn in Sagittarius, we're ALL going to learn the consequences, good and bad, of voicing our opinions so freely. And I think the backlash that happened in that aforementioned thread shows those consequences. Now, I'm not singling out Ami, in particular. This kind of thing can happen to ANY of us on this board, when we start voicing our biases without thinking of the consequences. We're going to have to answer to that, if we go there. It's a habit we all have. It's pretty cringeworthy to stand back and think about the sweeping generalizations we make on here about placements on a constant basis. It's the kind of thing that makes people who know nothing about astrology question us. It makes us look like a secret cult of bigots and jerks who only like certain placements and want nothing to do with other placements because of our experiences with them and judge them harshly for their differences. Well, who cares about our experiences? Saturn in Sagittarius is going to teach us now how VERY limited our experiences are, even among the wisest, old-soul types. We can live an entire life and still never know everything, still have a hundred and one things to learn. So, why do we constantly talk about astrological placements in such an opinionated fashion, as if what we're saying is right? As if what we're saying could even possibly account for the MILLIONS of people alive with that placement who we've never even met? Yes, we all know how dead-on astrology usually is. But, it's not so accurate that it never leaves room for many different nuances and exceptions and contradictions. You can say that you're just speaking your opinion and you're right. That's all you're doing and throughout Saturn in Sagittarius, that's not going to be good enough. We all need to channel some of Sagittarius' opposite Gemini. We need to stay totally open to all the different mental perspectives out there, instead of clinging to our biases. We need to be willing to change our viewpoints and not be dogmatic in our outlook. If not, then, Saturn's basically going to kick our butts. We all need to learn how being so opinionated all the time does nothing but limit and frustrate us, in the end, because it turns every conversation into a struggle for "rightness". I think people are in a much more objective state of mind nowadays. People don't really want to be brought down by a Saturn transit's energy. So, people don't want to be brought down, nowadays, by someone else's dogmatism. In conversations, other people are LISTENING to you. So, we all need to be more aware of how people will take what we have to say. If you're not willing to behave with Saturn-like responsibility and maturity in this way, and actually CARE about what people want to hear and how they're hearing it, don't be surprised if you end up frustrated and things become difficult for you. Because people don't want to have conversations with people like that, after a while, especially during a time like this. Let's be open to what Saturn's here to teach us, folks. Again, this is not just for one person. We all can learn this lesson and benefit from this wisdom. I have Mercury conjunct Mars myself so I'm no innocent in this department, either. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Totally. It's no coincidence that all of that ISIS stuff started almost exactly when Saturn went into Sagittarius. There's going to be a lot of bigotry and narrow-mindedness in the air (in many different ways) but a lot of people aren't going to tolerate it for long, either. There's going to be a backlash against this kind of behavior. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Brilliant, and very insightful. I was wondering whether Mars at Aries 29 was causing the heat, but it makes sense (and I personally prefer it) if it's a sign of a deeper and long-lasting transit. Yay for backlash against narrow-mindedness. IP: Logged |

Hahah, you know, I honestly am not obsessed with the news. But, I could've sworn that's the name of the terrorist organization. I Googled them and that's what came up... Maybe we're just on two different pages here. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Oh my gosh, so this is why people are telling me I need to listen more and not talk about myself so much. hahaOh yeah and Saturn is doing a dooesy squaring my Venus right now. But I'm being pretty mature for the circumstances, and am beginning to genuinely become optimistic about my life. IP: Logged |

He's squaring my Mars and Mercury at the moment. And will square my Venus, down the line. So, he's definitely going to be teaching me some things these next couple of years. Which is just perfect (no sarcasm there) because my Saturn Return will be right after this transit. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Thanks for pointing out the correlation with ISIS. Saturn's transit in Sagittarius is going to impact the U.S. ASC-DESC axis. The U.S. is bombing northern Iraq. Saudi-Arabia and several ME countries are at war in Yemen. The proxy war with Iran is escalating. As for backlash, I haven't looked it up but there was a story in the news awhile ago about people coming out onto the streets and taking a stand against ideologically driven violence. IP: Logged |

Ah, okay. I gotcha. I had no idea that was the original name. I could really stand to get more informed. Now would be the right time to do it.

Saturn is opposing my Mercury in Gemini. It's been difficult to reach my friends on Skype I tell you that... and at the same time I don't feel like talking so much as usual and a little melancholic. But I've been more focused since the transit started and my head was all over the place before and I couldn't get any work done :-DSo kudos to the Old Man! ------------------ Do thy will ___________ Sun in Gemini Moon/Pluto Scorpio IP: Logged |
