Astro.com lists that I have moon square venus and moon square uranus. Astrotheme however doesn't. My venus is 17 degree in Cappy and my moon is 7 degree in Aries. My Uranus is 15 degree in cap IP: Logged |

Self-confessed orb stickler here... Astro.com? I'm not familiar with them. It sounds like it could've possibly been Astrotheme because they always allow for very wide orbs, particularly with squares. But, I don't even think they go as far as 10 degrees... Here are my ceilings for orbs, in general: conjunction - 8 degrees; 9, if its in the same sign and house opposition - 8 degrees square - 5 degrees; anything wider, in my opinion, eliminates the tension of the square trine - 6 degrees sextile - 4 degrees Some people care more about orbs than others. It's not a black or white rule. Some might say your Moon is square Venus and Uranus. I wouldn't say that, however. I value the orbs because they show the relationships between the planets, via the aspects. It's how they talk to one another. So, in my mind, if they're too far apart, the relationship is weakened. It's like they're shouting at each other from across a large room, straining to hear each other. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Aw, thanks! Apparently, some people get really emotional when reading some of my articles because I get that response a lot. And that makes me tear up myself. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

Does this apply to orbs in synastry as well? IP: Logged |

theunknown,To answer your question, it depends on what planet the Moon is aspecting. I'd say your Venus at 17 Cap is conjunct Uranus, but the 10-degree separation between exact square between Venus and Moon is a bit too far. You cannot assign an orb to a single planet because orbs are features of geometric relationships of planet to another. The original concept of orbs is found in the original term 'moeity of (two) orbs' which refers to the mean orb. Venus has a much smaller aspect leeway than Moon. If it were Sun supposedly conjunct Moon at 10 orb, yes, that would at least loosely fit. In astro.com's options you can choose a percentage of the full orb. That is what I do to read the aspectarians much more easily, especially for progressed charts. For natal aspects or transits I typically set it at 75-85%. ------------------ Professional astrology - Expert rectification http://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/ Rising Sign descriptions: https://kannonmcafee.wordpress.com/rising-signs-2/ IP: Logged |
