What's the difference between them all? If anyone can break it down for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Whose more ambitious? Whose more quiet? etc.

I have a Capricorn Ascendant, but I swear I'm the laziest thing. I often fascinate about getting things done rather than actually doing the tasks.

I see you also have Neptune rising and think you just perfectly described it. You're a big-time dreamer, in an ambitious way. But, I think you might just be being a bit hard on yourself. I'm sure you have the stuff to manifest those dreams! Just imagine yourself as being a mover and shaker and act out that role!

Anyway, I think Capricorn Sun is usually the least typically Capricorn of the trio, by far. You usually don't see the conventional Capricorn seriousness in these folks until they're at least in their mid-thirties or early forties. And I think the men tend to come off as more grave, by this point, than the women. But, they are all usually very purposeful, in some way, no matter how light or fun they may seem to be. Capricorn Suns are also the most social; very good at networking and thrive on the recognition they receive professionally. But, with dignity.

With Capricorn Rising, I think we come off as the most Capricorn-like right away, as this is the obvious function of the Rising sign. We automatically seem very mature or dependable. Capricorn Rising has got that gravitas. From a distance, others might often believe we're sad or lonely or stressed out. People take us seriously, too seriously, at times. The more people get to know us, the more they see our silliness or love of fun or whatever other lighter traits. I also think Capricorn Rising tends to age most gracefully and seamlessly, as well as clean up the nicest in formal wear, as this placement's about appearance

Yet, it's the total opposite with Capricorn Moon. The more people get to know them, the more they encounter a side that's sort of stern or depressed or distant. This can be surprising if they seem to be different. By far, I find Capricorn Moon the most concerned with financial/professional security. Capricorn Sun or Rising is far more likely to really follow their heart and take some crazy career risk (though we'll think it out). But, that would paralyze a typical Cap Moon with fear. The Moon just wants to be safe so these folks will always play it safe when it comes to career. Even if they're in the arts, they have very strong business instincts. They can also be bigger workaholics than Sun or Rising and usually take responsibilities to loved ones deeply seriously.

I have a Cap Moon and Draconic Cap Asc, Mars

I am VERY career oriented and like to work 24/7. I can also be VERY aloof, distant and closed off but at the same time-when I feel
like it-goofy.

I can shut my feelings off in a second and become completely inaccessible. You will wonder what is going on beneath the surface but I won't be able to tell for the simple reason that I, myself, don't really know. My Moon is square Pluto so I sink deeeeep into my emotions to the point where I suffocate myself and probably everyone else as well :-/

So what is the difference between asc and rising? How do you find your rising?

I am a Cap asc also and work with a Cap moon and Cap sun. I would say the Cap sun is the least laziest, but she is also an Aries moon. The Cap moon is a Sag sun, and she is always telling us how lazy she is, haha. I guess I would be in the middle. I can be lazy, but seem like I am always busy. My Mars is in my 12th house, so I am naturally low energy.

Someone else made this point once, I can't remember who but it was a good point.
Rising is the sign that rules your asc.
Asc is the very specific point in your chart that begins your first house.
They are the same as far as most of us think of, but to be technical...

The degree of your ascendant, based on your time of birth, shows your rising sign. They are basically two different terms for the same thing.

Haha, don't tempt me! I'm obsessive enough to do it!

And I have always used Ascendant and Rising totally interchangeably. I didn't know there was a little difference between the two terms.
