Don't you hate all these fake posts and pages on Facebook and Twitter? They're highly ignorant, biased, and are the main reason why astrology is shunned as a mere "pseudoscience". It just really makes me mad whenever I see them posts with inaccurate information about the signs. Like if you gonna stereotype zodiac signs, get it right. Grrr... Lol sorry. I just had to rant. Oh you mean like the memes and stuff? Lol, you know I post them sometimes but only to start a conversation about REAL astrology and people seem to become intrigued and ask me all kinds of questions. Maybe use them as conversation pieces  IP: Logged |

Oh boy, yes. I'm on Tumblr a lot, and that kind of stuff is all over that site now on a regular basis. And as someone who actively studies Astrology, I see incorrect/inaccurate information thrown about all the time even just pertaining to what the majority of folk know "exists" on there, which is their Sun sign. A lot of it has become memeish, so it's kind of joked around in its own way, but I have such the urge sometimes to want to educate people, especially those that don't believe Astrology exists and just laugh at it. I was reading up on a movie in the IMDb forums a few months ago, there were a lot of heated debates, and one of the topics drifted away to astrology - one poster mentioned a Sun sign characteristic and all hell broke loose. At least 6 or 7 posters started replying with "Don't tell me you believe in this non-sense", "Are you for real", and then they proceeded to declare their own Sun signs followed with "So what?". Turns out they were all Geminis, all 6 or 7 of them, and so they started comparing birthdays and laughing about it but were still adamant that astrology is a scam. A whole group of people, on an online forum, spending hours passionately analysing a movie in depth and engaging in intellectual discussions - but sure, the Gemini connection between all of them (only Sun signs mind you), of course that's irrelevant  IP: Logged |

They couldn't decide which traits went with which of their personalities! But I joke. I'm Gemini moon. So I'll pick on those also.

Hahah, Deep Freeze! Sun sign astrology does annoy the stuffing out of me, for many different reasons. But, honestly, I also really hate trying to convert and educate non-believers. After trying a few times, I've sort of given it up. There are too many believers out there for me to even waste time on the skeptics. If they choose to not buy into it, let them. Besides, I hate feeling like some Christian evangelist or something. I don't want to force my beliefs on anyone else who doesn't want to believe in them. So, I actually don't have anyone to talk to about astrology, face-to-face. It's only through these boards and on my blog. I guess it's something of a secret. Not a shameful one. Just a very private pursuit of mine. And that's probably my Uranus in the 12th at work. Besides, I have to admit, it's also sort of fun to have an upper hand on people who know nothing about their charts.  ------------------

Yes! I feel the exact same. I see it here waaaaaaaaaaay to much. What's worse is that you have "professionals" aiding in these biased teachings spreading more ignorance and prejudice. I actually laugh out loud when I see the memes for one sign bashing another and then that same exact meme changed and made for the bashed sign! IP: Logged |
