One of my favorite movies of all time is The Lion King. But one thing that fascinates me is that each of the 3 main characters perfectly reveal the different "sides" of a leo. The Ideal leo, the Fallen Leo, and the Developing one. Mufasa, Scar, and Simba.. THE IDEAL LEO..........MUFASA
1) Noble and Sagacious. Holds firm to higher ideals instead of ego. Possesses full self, and collective awareness (purpose and understanding of himself and the world). 2) Calm, steadfast, and fierce only when necessary. Doesn't have anything to prove to anyone (like an Aries does lol) 3) Broad-minded and expansive. Treats others as he would want to be treated. Which allows him to truly care for and connect with his kingdom instead of "dominating" it. He wants them to be just as great as himself. THE FALLEN LEO......SCAR
1)Ruled by ego and lowered vibrations. Has no self-awareness (purpose and understanding) which causes him to suck the life out of others. 2) Cunning, arrogant and manipulative (bad leo trait) 3)Can not see past himself, because he doesn't have himself. Intelligent, yet lacks wisdom for the better good of himself and others. Domineering because he has a void filled by petty emotions. THE DEVELOPING LEO.....SIMBA
1) Full of life, imagination, and creativity. Sees life as a grand adventure with much to learn and give 2) Has the potential, yet fear of failure keeps him from reaching full potential like the ideal leo. This has much to do with being unable to master the ego and separate it from a more higher, noble calling. 3) Attention-***** . Wants something to prove, yet fails to realize no one can give him what he can't give to himself. Must realize that we are all equals and deserve to support one another as a link in a chain. Thats is when true leadership qualities like Mufasa are revealed. Rafiki (Aquarius) teaches him this.. Yup, welp. Thats it

A really great post. I'm still in the developing stage -- hopefully I can be like the Ideal Leo as time goes by. Mastering Leo energy can be a little rough sometimes, but great stuff happens when you do IP: Logged |

I recall when I saw this I thought of "good Leo vs. evil Leo" (and the flamboyant air only added to it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZjk_gtkbd0 And then I find HP is a Leo in the canon (I couldn't find the birthday for Lucius). That aside, I've thought Mufasa and Scar were good for that, too. You've put more thought into it. IP: Logged |

*gasp*
I didn't know Harry Potter was a Leo! And not by accident, I'm sure. I love Leos (of course I do). ♥
But I have dated one of the bad or 'fallen' ones,
and there's nothing worse than a lion with his nose out of joint because he thinks he's gotten a raw deal. Insufferable. ------------------ It's my Pisces Moon. ☆☾ IP: Logged |

Very interesting... Thanks for reminding me my childhood I have kind of love-hate relationship with Leonine folks... They're GREAT friends but HORRIBLE enemies. Scars seems like mix of Leo and unevolved Scorpio to me. Simba on the other hand is great mix of all three fire signs...IP: Logged |

I've been through the fallen leo phase. It was a nightmare for me. My very own ego sucked dry the life out of me and left me wondering why I was so lonely. Before that, I was the developing leo. Now I'm back to it again and I do hope to become the ideal Leo soon. OMG I love Rafiki though such wise monkey Maybe in another post, Pumba and Timon will be there too. IP: Logged |

J.K Rowling has her Sun in Leo so it makes sense for Harry to be one lol IP: Logged |

Sadly, many Leos have become "fallen". We don't have too many Mufasas these days. Many don't have the strength to master their ego and use higher ideals for noble/creative purposes. But thats what leos are here to do IP: Logged |

Leos and Scorpios are BOTH TERRIBLE when unevolved. Leo has to set aside ego for a higher purpose which involves their self-awareness and creativity for the greater good of all. If not, they will be destructive instead of productive (Leo is the semen of life) And Scorpio needs to find peace with their own resentments in order to bring healing to others. They need to find balance within themselves before they terrorize people for something that doesn't even exist. IP: Logged |

I guess it does, then.
Why deviate from greatness?

I'll actually be going to see the Lion King play on Wednesday for my birthday! I'm absurdly excited about it. I will always and FOREVER love that movie. It came out during the peak of my childhood for goodness sake! I adore Mufasa and I do love that particular embodiment of Leo. Great post! IP: Logged |

That diss to Aries was not necessary though. The mature Arian (such as myself) doesn't have anything to prove either. We blaze our own trails and don't need approval. Thank you. IP: Logged |
