Look for sun sign, aspect and house. and aspect of sun dispositor and house placement. that should give you some clue into the purpose of your life.

for instance, I have sun in cancer in 3rd house in conjunction with mars and venus. sun dispositor (moon) is gemini-conjunct mercury, square uranus-pluto (in 5th)

what would be the purpose of my life? having sun in 3rd house, i need to develop my communication and intellectual skills to its best. I would not be happy with manual job where no intellect develop.. sun in conjunctiion to mars and venus. One of the purpose of my life is being assertive but aware of others. to balance the venus with the mars drives. it is not an easy task, but that is what i am supposed to do to be fullfilled. my sun also sextile jupiter, which takes me to superior studies. I have follow that path and that suit my soul needs. then the ruler of my sun moon in second house. I will not complete the purpose of my life if i stay penniless. life put me always in the situation to make myself unsure about fiancial, but this is also helping me to be stronger with finances. I feel (moon) the insecurity and fluctuations in finance, but also aware that to achieve my purpose in life i need to master the material world. some people may not care about material world, but I do and this is part of my purpose in life, to master it, to become financially independent and covers my material needs..(as dispositor of sun is in 2nd)... and so on...

Hard to say. I'd rather see your chart (with birth data) before commenting.

Let's break it down, though. It is more important to first get a feeling of who you are -- apart from any 'doing' or goals.

The general rule of thumb that I have found quite profound is your intuition leads to your purpose. Its so natural and simple that it can seem difficult to grasp, like water that runs through our fingers.

Intuition here means your interest and curiosity, what you are drawn to most naturally. It can be revealed even by what riles you up and gets you passionate.

Not everyone's birth chart reveals their mission or purpose in life clearly or even narrows it down well enough. Hypnosis can be a very good way for pinpointing it. Worked for me.

You may find that your first order of business is to get grounded. It is really difficult to process on a practical level and move forward if you are not grounded.

Some people nowadays need EMF protection of some type in order to get grounded and stay that way. See if you can notice times when you feel more ungrounded, unstable and notice what is in your environment. Many of us have to reorient ourselves in our environment before we can stabilize.

This aspect would point to the fact that it is hard to get your goals in line with your purpose.

You may feel you are spinning your wheels and not finding that for which you were BORN to do.

One's purpose feels like "home"

Well if Pisces is suffering or elusiveness, and the 7th (my NN placement) is relationships, then I'd say I'm on plan.

Also, it is important to understand that one's spiritually originated purpose in life is not limited to or defined by an earthly task or vocation. I think it is best visualized the way in which things grow organically, like imagining it grow as a seed grows into a tree. It starts with a small potential, but reaches towards the light as a sprout. -- It is important to feel what draws you with a feeling of passion and purposefulness.

This will often be based in past life experiences for some people, but not everyone.

I don't agree that squares to the Nodes or any other chart point contribute to someone having trouble finding their place/purpose in the world. This is a misunderstanding of what square aspects are. Square aspects are driving in nature and set up an unrelenting tension or default/reversion dynamic determined by the planets involved (and how tight the square is).

For any authentic notion of a beneficial orientation in life, interpretation of the Nodes in a person's chart must be integrated with that of the Asc, MC, etc. And this cannot be done with consistency unless the astrologer uses declinations and knows how to verify the accuracy of the Asc. Get the Asc off by a few degrees and you can have the Nodes in the wrong house pair and have entirely different aspects to the Asc and MC.

It is actually quite difficult normally to extract very specific information regarding a helpful vocation -- or even more so, an authentic orientation that will bring balance to a person's overall development (nodes). It appears that many people's belief in astrology overrides clearly false or misleading direction regarding life purpose taken from standard interpretations of the nodes, etc, gained from books. I'm of the opinion that not enough astrologers -- including authors -- are taking careful inventory of people's lives who are fulfilled and balanced against a backdrop of assumed interpretations of their birth charts. Those of us who do this see the need for adjustments, specifically in how we treat the Asc and in validating it before proceeding with highly specific interpretation.
