If you compare the character traits of your Sun sign (only your Sun sign, excluding everything else in your chart) - with the character traits of your Chinese sign - which do you relate to the most? Which seems to suit your personality more overall?

Disclaimer: I am aware of the downsides to taking into account Sun signs without looking at the entire natal chart.
I'm also aware of the classic criticisms of Chinese Astrology - e.g. That the yearly Chinese sign is not so personalised, since it encompasses a large number of people - and that the Chinese pillars (hour, day, month signs) are also relevant - or more relevant.

I don't need a refresher course in this ^ or negative opinions on Sun Sign Astrology

I am really just curious about your reply as to -which sign- you relate to the most

Thank you

I'm an Ox in Chinese astrology. Apparently, we're supposed to be conventional, loyal, stubborn, great planners... all that stuff that sounds a lot like the Earth signs. I don't really relate to most of the Oxen traits, but there's a few that I can relate to--strength, diligence, and determination. It also corresponds with my birthpath number 8.

But like I said, I don't relate to it as much as I relate to the traits of a Leo. I'm more open to new things and I love to be spontaneous with almost everything. I like to be the center of attention (can't deny that) and I can exaggerate just to make things more dramatic and alive.

that there is more than just a year sign for Chinese astrology.
And that you have a Chinese month sign, day sign and hour sign.

here's a link to find yours, enjoy! http://www.chineseastrologyonline.com/YourSign.htm

I'm year of the horse, month of the metal dragon, day of the fire sheep, hour of the wood snake.

Thank you Solar-Leo. Have you ever met a Tiger-Leo... and did you feel like by contrast to them you were more responsible and organized?

Thanks Charlie! The Dragon is a powerful sign. I think its influence is very noticeable. Like you could never mistake a Rabbit/Cancer or Goat/Cancer with a Dragon/Cancer

It's ok. I'm sure there are people who don't know about the day/week/month pillars, so the link is useful!
She probably scrolled quickly and didn't read haha We've all done it!

Banshee - What is your Chinese Sign? And which do you relate to most?

^^ Rabbits are very wise though. I know a bunch of Rabbits because I'm an '86 born Tiger and they are a year younger, '87 - so I've met several Rabbits through school and Uni.
They have an inner calm/poise that a Tiger could never mimic. Tigers are more instantly reactive. Rabbits are thinkers and they like responding in a way that takes into account every person in the room. They seem like a mix of Libra and Pisces to me. They are also very philosophical, so maybe there's a touch of Sagittarius in them.

Your vibe seems very balanced to me Vajra, so I do feel the Rabbit in you
But I see what you mean about being more passionate like the Tiger/Horse. That comes across in your posts as well... Do you have Leo in your chart?

I haven't been able to find an old website that combines eastern and western astrology (and may be down at the moment) but I did find this that had about the same info (just not as good a format and I think the site I recall had more):
http://voiceoftheangels.com/spiritualforum/index.php?topic=299.0

Scroll down to the "East Meets West" per sign.

I apologize everybody. I should of read more carefully!

Thanks for being so forgiving Odette, I really appreciate it!

Well I can relate to my Aries Sun. I'm pretty energetic, enthusiastic. I'm flirty when in a good mood. I'm decently confident. I also love to exercise. I go to the gym, run. I love swimming for fun, and I miss being in dance classes. It's great for my well being. I'm more motivated to exercise for taking the edge off than looking a certain way. However, I don't mind the bonus of looking more fit after a while.

However Aries are known for being independent. I really don't think I'm that independent for my age, working on it though.

I relate to my Horse sign too. Free spirit, energetic, life of the party, humorous, romantic.
Horses are said to be popular. I feel like my popularity fluctuates. There have been times in my life where I was a total outcast and isolated.

So with both signs I can relate to most of it with the exception of one thing from each so it's hard for me to pick which one I relate to more.

both Aries and horse are pretty outgoing and physical.

I've only met one Tiger-Leo that I actually am sorta friends with. Yes, I do feel more responsible and organized than her and more emotionally controlled lol. But I'm not sure if it's because of that or because I'm sorta Virgo -.- My friend-acquaintance... she's very.. uhh sorta ratchet while I like to keep it rather classy.

AG- lmao.

I'm an Aqua Sun and Earth Snake [insert stereotypically negative perception], which makes sense with a Cap stellium.

I think the Snake is a good refection of both my Pisces Moon and earth placements- Snakes are perceptive, generous, rich imagination, cautious and goal oriented, independent and secretly intense.

Aries Sun, Gemini Moon, Scorpio ascendant.
I can't remember all three for the Chinese signs, but I'm a Wood Rabbit, and I think Dog ascendant. I can relate to descriptions about the rabbit (skittish and such), but I can also relate to Aries descriptions - except for that we're always on the war path.

The Bloggess wrote about bunnies, that we will fight like hell if we have to, and that is true.

I'm a Taurus Rabbit.

I relate to Taurus' steadfast, stable nature...our stubbornness, being affectionate, faithful...but I don't relate to Taurus being a glutton or being lazy and boring. Perhaps the mutable energy in my chart alters that.

As for the Rabbit character... I relate to appreciating grace & charm. My biggest turn-off is arrogance and uncouth mannerism & speech. Also relate to being cautious and discreet. I don't like sharing my personal life with others unless they're trusted individuals and even then, I share selectively. Also don't appreciate intrusive people.

Same. I was wondering if we were around the same age. I relate to most of what they say about the rabbit.
