I love having this aspect and wanted to poll some of the Moon-Mercury folks here and compare experiences. Here are the questions:

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?
2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?
3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?
4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?
5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?
6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

Here are my answers!
1. Moon in Scorpio in the 10th sextile Mercury in Virgo in the 8th

2. I read all the time and I'm pretty mentally all over the place without a good book to work on. And I have excellent focus. I kind of like reading a book to feel a little like a goal or a task. So, I'm a sucker for those thick classic books!

3. Well, you all know about my blog. I've been creatively writing since I was 9 years old and it's always been a sort of comfort for me. Eventually, it'll be my career.

4. I'm very quick in conversation. Respond to things right away without thinking. I understand that some people have to pause and come up with the words, so I try to be patient. I'm good at keeping the conversation going and have been regularly complimented on my sharp wit. In many ways, I do speak without a filter but still have my secrets, too.

5. I feel both planets very strongly. My Moon's angular and highly aspected. So, I am definitely very instinctive and emotional. But, Mercury's highly aspected, too, so I am a thinker and do have an intellectual side. Cause of the sextile, I think it's very easy for me to be both.

6. I spent the majority of my life journaling and that would be the sole way I'd really hash out my feelings. Now, I'm learning how to openly talk about them and how if someone is dismissive of them or won't really listen to them, I don't need to be close to them. Yet, I do still love to journal. Lifelong habit!

Interesting post!

My answers:

1. Cancer Moon in the 4th, trine Pisces Retrograde Mercury in the 12th.

2. I love love love to read BUT I am extremely picky. I do love classics (like my fav Wuthering Heights), Stephen King....but I am really not into Non-fiction. Mostly on a daily basis I read manga (the Japanese Comics), and novels more spaced out depending on my mood. My focus really varies. Sometimes I can focus perfectly, others not so much. Then I usually end up skipping ahead in the story or just taking a million hours to read one page.
This may be because of my Mercury squaring Uranus and Mars in Sag in the 9th.

3. Yes I do feel I have a talent for Creative Writing. However, aside from academically I haven't written much else recently. A while ago I did write a fantasy novel, and did some poetry. I plan to start writing another story very soon . Most of my writing ideas come to me in daydreams or dream dreams.

4. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It really all varies. It doesn't depend on my mood or anything, but it does depend on who I am talking to. I can be a very ineffective mumbly slow speaker, a normal effective speaker or a quick responding amazing speaker. It really does all depend on how the person makes me feel. Frustrating x__x!! I'd say I am 50 percent unfiltered.

5. I feel both heavily impact different areas in my life. On paper and in my mind the aspect allows me to seamlessly express my ideas in creative ways. This way I have the comfort of editing my thoughts and controlling them more.
I wish I had this luxury with my speech! Usually with speaking to a person I feel the Mercury strongly feeling out/accessing whether my Moon is going to feel comfortable enough to allow me to speak effective, quick, appropriate and witty (or maybe its the other way around lol, who knows!).

6. I hate talking about my feelings in depth with other people period. I usually am the one to be asking questions, not answering. I do not journal, nor write my feelings down. I usually end up just thinking about them and dissecting them myself, all in my head quietly. But I can take the imprint of those feelings and make a creative story if that makes sense.

I guess it really is like being two different people! The one on paper, and the one talking. Strange!! lol anyways great post!!

Awesome thread! Love it
This is one of my favourite aspects in my chart. It's also my closest aspect.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

Moon sextile Mercury, both at 18 deg of the sign.
Moon in Capricorn, 7th
Mercury in Pisces, 10th

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

O.M.G I read a *lot*. I don't think I go through more than 15 (at the very most 30 min) throughout the day and not read.
I do a lot of research for work and in my studies. So I'm always reading things I 'have to' read - but I do find them interesting!
In my spare time, I read a lot of astrology-related things and ironically - I love science magazines like New Scientist, Cosmos Mag, Discover... Although, maybe it's not that ironic, since I consider astrology a science
I don't read much fiction though, for whatever reason.
I can focus well as long as I'm reading a couple of things at the same time. I don't like having to focus on just one thing - but that's probably my Gemini AC. I like variety!

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

This is a difficult question because I used to be very good at creative writing as a teenager. But as an adult I ended up in a career that requires a lot of analytical (left-brain type) writing.
So I'm not sure... I guess I could go back to creative writing. I always feel like I don't really have the time and space for it. But in theory, I would like to!

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

I'm pretty quick. Not as quick as the Geminis I know haha
But I'm always talking back. I seldom pause - unless I have a good reason.
I make sarcastic jokes but it depends what mood I'm in. I'm usually upbeat around acquaintances though, so even if I was in a bad mood they wouldn't know it.
I definitely like entertaining people!

My speech is never completely unfiltered though. Even if I reply within seconds, I have probably already filtered it haha

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

Ummmm I think I appear very mercurial - but deep down I'm probably more lunar. I have a serious/emotional side for sure, but most people who don't know me well wouldn't pick up on this socially.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

I do both. I like talking to specific people who I feel have helped me in the past, because I trust their advice.
But there are times when I need to write about it and try to figure things out on my own.
Sometimes I write about it on LL!

Good topic !

1. Mercury in 12th house Aries square Moon in 9th house Capricorn. I would kill for a soft aspect! The square is quite simply annoying.

2. Reading is my number one hobby, I normally carry around two books in my purse (one poetry, one random). Focusing is easy but I find I like to switch between fiction and nonfiction every so often even though overall I prefer fiction.

3. Thankfully I am talented at writing since I'm awful at communicating orally. I've gotten better over the years but it's always a struggle to express my ideas out loud on the spot (12th house probably). Creative writing is my favourite, I've won several contests.

4. Once I'm comfortable with someone, I tend to come on rather strongly I think. I'm pretty good at keeping the conversation going with people but I do start off reserved. My sense of humour isn't really "jokey" so most people don't pick up on it until they get to know me.

5. It's hard to explain, I feel more mercurial in general (i.e., logic > emotions) but I identify more with my Capricorn Moon than my Aries Mercury. When I'm communicating though it's like I'm trying to be clear and concise but my feelings on the matter keep trying to cut in.

6. I definitely don't talk about my real feelings but sometimes I'll sort of fake it to try and empathize with others. I started keeping a journal when I was 16 which was a good way to sort out my feelings (and practise my writing).

@the89freespirit, do you feel that the Scorpio energy overwhelms the Virgo in this aspect?? I am asking since your Moon is Scorpio, and your Mercury is in the 8th.

@Odette, do you feel that the Capricorn energy is more dominant since your Mercury is in the 10th??

lol same question for both of you I guess

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?
Gemini Moon (11th house/12th house) conjunct Cancer Mercury (12th house). I have a double effect with my signs: Cancer (emotions) and Gemini (intellect) is similar to a Moon/Mercury aspect.

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?
I read everyday, I have good focus ability when it's something I truly want to learn, but things that are not interesting, I can lose my concentration and have to read it again when I drift off.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?
Yes, even as a little kid, students and teachers loved my stories. I don't consider myself an amusing person, but they would think some of the stuff I wrote was funny...

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?
It depends on the conversation, sometimes I'm quick sometimes I'm not. Occasionally I make jokes, but it's not a Jim Carrey thing, I tend to be more reflective. I'm more tactful when I speak, I don't blurt out things etc. When I do speak I try to be as authentic as possible.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?
I have a mutual reception, so hard to say. When I activate one planet, I activate the other. I'm both lunar and mercurial. I have a lot of emotions but I'm very rational too.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?
I don't like to talk about my feelings all that much, I pretty much counsel my own self or read up on issues that bother me. I don't journal all that much, sometimes I do, but everything is in my brain, so I mostly think everything through, no paper is necessary. When it comes time to write, it just flows across the paper, like a glass of water has spilled over.

Inconjunct. :/

Moon Pisces H11

Merc Leo H4

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

Very often, and very well.

I have an almost compulsive need to have

something to read at all times... I used

to get in trouble for dragging books to the

dinner table as a kid.

Now, I'm more into non-fiction than I was

when I was younger.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

I like to think it's a natural skill lol

Creatively speaking, I can if I'm so moved.

.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

Depends on the situation, but if I'm fairly comfortable,

then yes; I'll keep it going without a hitch.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

It really depends on who I'm talking to, but I prefer

the lunar variety when it comes to convos.

Much more interesting, though all too rare.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

Feelings?

No, not a fan of talking about my feelings.

I don't journal, either.

Once you put it out there in the aether, there's

no bringing it back. :P

Hi Freespirit,

I do not practice creative writing. If I did I'd be a much better writer, able to communicate the richness of my ideas (ha ha pats self on back), in the written word. I am a much better speaker/talker. I enjoy public speaking, and I enjoy the process of organizing a speech. I enjoy one on one conversations the most. I do well at parties, but I don't always have fun. I don't always communicate my feelings, but I do communicate with feeling all of the time. I dont know if I'm quick or witty in conversations. I like to take my time, and explore and play with ideas. I guess it also depends on the communication style of the other person. I can adapt.

I don't read much for work, and I'm not in school so when I'm reading, I'm reading what I want to read and so, can focus on what I'm reading. But if it's boring to me, forget it. I read scripture of all religions. I don't study the religion itself, just read scripture. When not reading scripture I like books like Einstein's Dreams and 100 Years of Solitude . One book entertains my Jupiter, Mercury 12th house conjunction, while the other appeals to my Taurus Moon conjunct Chiron, opposite Uranus. They are different, but both keep my Gemini Mars' attention with new ideas and frequent changes.

I guess at this time I'm more lunar. But I have a Virgo NN so, we'll see what the future holds.

I don't journal. LL is like a journal and the other day I was thinking that instead of posting a topic right away I should write about it for a bit in something that could easily be called a journal.

I share a lot of things that I haven't quite figured out here, on LL, but that's not how I do things in my everyday. I work on myself very privately, keeping my true feelings to myself and a short list of friends. I should journal!

12th house Leo Mercury is conjunct Jupiter, and Ascendant. It's sextile Gemini Mars (11) and Libra Pluto (3), square Scorpio Uranus (4) and Taurus Moon (10).

I should add that I am not reading anything now and it's just as well because I speak what I hear and I write what I read and I might very well address members of this forum as thee and thou, but I shan't.

My sis, a student and a writer, told me I need to read more scholarly works just for the sake of reading them. She's going to mail them to me. That's just funny to me. I will read them though.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

Moon in 5H Sag stellium (with Mars, Uranus, Neptune) sextile 3H Libra stellium Mercury (with Sun, Venus, Saturn, Pluto)...and Scorpio Jupiter between them. (Obviously, Leo ASC.)

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

A lot. I can tune out the world so someone interrupting me may find it about the same as waking me up. It used to be an escape for me as a child.

I also read nonfiction just as eagerly and am very curious about the cosmos I live in.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

Yes. I was told when I was 10 that I'd become a professional writer someday. I still get told that even today.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

Generally yes to the first two. And all that reading I do helps with that and it's amazing how many people think I'm "one of them" even when I don't mean to (sometimes people will argue me, like when I explained I wasn't really a goth to a friend she debated me on it as she listed my music, movies, and at some point she even said "your saying you're not a goth proves that you are!" )

"Unfiltered" depends. As a child I wasn't filtered at all, I spoke plainly but people couldn't handle it, and not because I was saying bad things about people but because they didn't know how to respond to it, not even to answer a question (or feared they'd get in trouble if they did answer). Many teachers gave me license to read or write my own stories in class AS LONG AS I didn't participate in class discussions or ask questions (it was something other kids pointed out since they might try to read or write as well and the teacher would call them on it even as I was doing the same).

As an adult I came to learn the price for alienating people I did business with as well as neighbors so I became much more careful in my speech, particularly as even violence was possible if I didn't. Again, it wasn't that I was braying insults but rather it was the very ideas and unusual knowledge I possessed that could alienate, offend, and even SCARE people (and in some cases that had a chain reaction of alienating others).

However, with close friends I'm unfiltered, and it's welcome as they're odd as well who want a genuine talk rather than scripted talks with pat replies. They know they're safe in "unfiltered speech" mode with me as well.

I'm generally unfiltered here on LL though I do hold back a lot, especially on my humorous inclinations...though I'd hold back less if my actual "tone" came through rather than the tone others imagine into it.

That said, I've always been good about keeping secrets, at least when I understood I wasn't supposed to share something.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

Good balance, and yes.

And just for the record, the fact that I don't typically trumpet my feelings or wear my heart on my sleeve doesn't mean I don't have feelings or a heart. And though I manage my emotions and don't let them rule me I do take them into consideration and let them advise me rather than try to crush them like some Vulcan.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

Depends, and a bit of both. When talking about current feelings I prefer to talk them out with someone who has the proper context and understanding and knows me well. Many times I like to analyze these things alone as well and talk about them after I've worked it out, when that's a possibility, though I don't normally shut people out. In the rare cases there wasn't people to talk to I manage without it bothering me, though it's rare that there's no one to talk when I desire it.

1. Moon in Taurus in the 3rd house trining an 11th house Capricorn Stellium (Mercury,Uranus,Neptune).

2.Not much. When I was younger I read a ton of books. I had a habit of going to the school library and picking up a new novel and a new non-fiction book and would finish both within a few days only to return them and get two new books to read. I read so much that I got burnt out on reading and haven't read much since. As for focus.... I have a hard time focusing on anything. I do have Mercury conjunct Neptune and Uranus ya know.

3. Maybe? I used to write poems and wrote a few funny stories. I will still write occasionally if I get any good ideas, but I don't get good ideas with any consistency. My creativity comes and goes, it's not something I can access 24/7. Again, I blame it on Mercury Conjunct Neptune and Uranus.

4.Depends. I hate small talk! Despise it! However,if I'm having a conversation about something interesting I'm a very good conversationalist. I don't have a filter. I pretty much say whatever comes to mind.

5. I'm definitely more mercurial. No,I don't feel this aspect has much to do with that. I think it's because mercury conjuncts my chart ruler (Uranus), my mars is in Gemini, and moon is in the 3rd house.

6. I'd rather talk about them but writing them down would be fine too.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

Taurus Moon in 3H trine Capricorn Mercury-Neptune-Sun conjunction in 11H.

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

Every day, and I always have a few books on hand which I read in parallel (i.e. I'd read one of them today, then pick up the other one tomorrow etc, depending on my mood), usually 1 or 2 novels/ fiction stories and 1 or 2 non-fiction ones (mostly in the areas of history, psychology, and esoteric topics). No problem focusing

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

That's my best skill I even had a few publications in my teens, though I neglected creative writing during the past few years, and am starting to reconnect with it now. But writing has always been a big part of me since very early age, and the best way for me to make sense of the world.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

If the topic or people interest me, yes - lots of jokes and inspired discussions

Otherwise no, especially when people engage in small talk or turn on an autopilot ("Holiday was good, too short though. And it will take me another 2 weeks to catch up on emails now."/ "What, no, haha, I haven't lost any weight. No, no. I look like a pig." / "I only post selfies on Facebook as a joke, lol.") I know all the templates so I retreat in my mind and engage with my own thoughts instead.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

I'm more mercurial.
My Moon has been fighting for survival in its t-square with Venus and Pluto, so it's a part of my nature which I've been keeping to myself. I've only just started integrating it, so Mercury is still dominating.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

Journal. Don't like talking about feelings with others, but should probably learn to.

Love the replies everyone! It's interesting because I can see a lot of similarities but can tell the specific little differences in everyone from the signs, houses, aspects, etc. Even in mine, from re-reading it.

Moon Bunny,

I do think the Scorpio/8th House energy plays a big part. With Moon-Mercury, your thoughts influence your feelings really strongly and vice versa. So, it's like intense emotion of the Scorpio Moon and intense concentration of 8th House Mercury can make the aspect really powerful. But, thankfully, I think this aspect significantly lightens up my Moon when needed. I can sort of breeze through the deep feels, at times, instead of just getting stuck in them. So, it's funny. I can get consumed by a mood or emotion and then be over it fairly quickly. It also allows me to articulate those feelings easily.

Yet, Mercury being in Virgo plays a big part, as well. It makes me very, very observational, which does help me in conversation, too. I can usually notice things that most people don't or verbalize them more easily than most people can. Die-hard people watcher. So, I think my Scorpio Moon and Virgo Mercury work together very well, in many ways. I'm really sharp when it comes to whatever I'm focused on.

I love these kinds of threads!

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

12th house Libra Moon conjunct 12th house Libra Mercury.

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

I read a lot!! Almost everyday. I'm in the process of reading several different books at a time right now lol so I think that answers how well I focus. I'm really hyper and sometimes I focus really well other times I just can't. It all depends on how good the book is and if I'm being forced to read it.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

Sure is. I love writing. When I was younger I used to write mini novels. I still have a journal but don't write as much in it as I used to. Writing, painting, reading are the best releases for me. My brain can get really intense at times and for me those 3 are what really work for me. I'm the most creative when I'm stressed, upset.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

Really quick. I talk fast, walk fast, move pretty fast for a shortie lol. I get really impatient with slow talkers. I do like to make jokes. I love laughing, laughing releases so much stress and adds that feel good, contented vibe. I'm one of those people that are always laughing and smiling. Its like I'm high on happy and for me being happy, contented with life changes everything, it makes my view of life so much brighter. I don't take anyone or anything for granted. I'm pretty unfiltered. I talk about the craziest stuff. Whatever is in my head comes out. I like to know everything and like to share what I've learned with those around me. I'm soo random!

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

I feel balanced between the two and believe the aspect, the sign and the house definitely have to do with that.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

I don't have issues talking about how I feel or what's on my mind but because they're in my 12th I'm naturally secretive, feel misunderstood a lot, I withhold certain things that may be viewed as important to someone else but are unimportant to me. I don't like when anyone worries about me so I'm always "together." I'd rather deal with things on my own than draw the attention from others. I just never feel right accepting help from other people, it makes me feel incredibly selfish. I'd rather that attention be given to someone who really needs it. I worry a lot about all of the people in the world that don't have a quarter of what I have but are actually happy, grateful. I don't like to complain and don't get along well with people who do. I get really weirded out and turned off by people that take offense to everything, are sensitive about everything. Life's too short to be so uptight all the time.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

Aquarius Moon exact square Scorpio Mercury. Moon is in the 10th house. Mercury is in the 6th.

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

I love reading. Recently, I have a love/hate relationship with reading because no story I find can satiate my need to feel satisfied. So I go off and on. Obsessively reading for weeks, and then not reading at all for weeks.

As a child, my favorite places were the library and book stores. Forget toy stores.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

Yes and no. I have to make an effort to write well if I'm doing so creatively. I do have the ability to do so, but it doesn't flow out of me like a river. It's not easy, but I have been complimented on my writing when I allowed myself to let go.

That being said, I am incredibly creative, but I struggle with the delivery of my creativity.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

It depends. I'm pretty quiet and keep to myself unless I'm comfortable with the person or we are talking about something I feel passionate about. I do joke around, but I attribute that to my Mercury square Midheaven.

I have had to learn to not curse so casually. I've been trying to filter the naughty words out of my vocabulary. I feel like I say the f-word a lot.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

Neither. I'm not really a lunar person and I've always been a quiet individual. The square keeps my mind and heart totally separate when making decisions.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

Not casually. I DO talk about my feelings through writing. I have noticed I spill a lot about myself on this forum, for instance! I do keep a journal for my daily emotional expunging. I find that it helps.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

12H Gemini Moon sextile 3H Leo Mercury

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

I used to read a lot when I was younger, especially as a child. I enjoyed going to the library and checking out new books. Now as I've gotten older I tend to read less, even though I'd like to change that and get back into the habit of doing so. When I do read though, I'd say my focus level is pretty average, and I usually don't have a hard time concentrating. This is probably because when I do read it's either only when I'm alone, or at night time when it's quiet.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

I'd say so, yes. I always excelled in writing class and grew up having people compliment my writing ability and tell me I'm very articulate (writing and vocally). I even had a few instances of people accusing me of plagiarism and me trying to do my best of assuring them I would never do so, and which I have not. I do only write creatively, and it's usually only poems and/or prose. It's a way for me to express what I'm feeling or dreaming about when I can't verbally explain face to face.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

I would say I'm average when it comes to quick responses. Sometimes I do get tongue-tied and can't seem to verbally speak what is on my mind, and I can be shy and not talk too much unless I'm truly comfortable. I love joking around and usually try and keep things lighthearted and sweet. How filtered I keep my speech is pretty much entirely dependent on whom I'm speaking to. I can easily change personalities and different ways of communicating for different people.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both? Do you think the aspect between the two has to do with it?

A good balance of both. Mercury is my most dominant planet, and the Moon is my 2nd/3rd. I'm sure there is some possible correlation between the aspect.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

It's usually always been hard for me to talk about my feelings with other people, and if I'm not close to them or don't feel comfortable or have established an emotional connection, chances are I will remain quiet and somewhat secretive and elusive. Only a few people in my life know what some of my true feelings are. I do often find though that writing them out, whether through a text message or through my own creative process such as poetry/prose, helps a bit.

Oooh sounds like fun

1. My moon is in Cancer in the first house, sextile my mercury in Virgo in the 3rd house.

2. If by read, you mean books, then I would say not too often. I only read books when I find them intruiging. I feel like there's too much details in the non-fiction ones while with the fictional ones, if I read the summary and it's not interesting, then forget about it. I won't even care to read it. However, if it's a bunch of stimulating articles and funny things on the internet, then yeah I read a lot. I also like to read things on packagings and boxes when I'm bored lol.

When I was younger maybe.. I liked fictional books better back then.

3. I would say yes, I am pretty natural with writing especially creative writing. I write some poetry, but more specifically I write songs. Tried to write a book once, didn't work lol. I got lazy and found that writer's block was my biggest enemy.

4. I'm very talkative when I start getting comfortable talking to someone. I joke all the time and I'm not always into serious conversations because I feel like they bog me down.

5. I feel more mercurial simply because I'm a Gemini rising, have a lot of air in my chart, and my Mercury being really strong in my chart. I don't like to show feelings and I feel that I have to be objective all the time so I can make good decisions. I like to talk about many different things but barely talk about how I feel because I think all it does is make things too serious.

6. I don't always like to talk about my feelings. I prefer keeping a journal and figuring myself out on my own. It's easier because when I make decisions that don't work out, I only have me to blame for it. Plus, it makes me feel more independent and in control of my own feelings than talking about it to other people.

1) 11th house Scorpio Moon sextile 1st house Capricorn Mercury in retrograde.

2) I prefer to read articles over books because there's less to read in a single sitting. I like to take in every word, so I read somewhat slowly.

3) People say that I'm a good writer, but I think it's because I use decent grammar. I take a long time to write something and be happy with it.

4) I wish I were quick in conversation. I have anxiety, so I'm not always comfortable in social situations. I prefer to be blunt and honest, but will hold back if the environment calls for it. Well, it's not that I prefer to be blunt; it's just that I often come across that way.

5) I don't think I'm either, but I know how each placement feels.

6) Hm, that's a tough one. I'm private and often like to work things out on my own, but I also benefit from heart-to-hearts with friends and therapists -- people who will actually listen and try to understand me.

I usually read something every day. I used to read more books, but now I read more online, although I'm also using reference books and doing research which of course requires reading. I can focus for short periods of time or longer if it's required.

I'd say writing is a natural skill. I started writing in high school. At the time, a class was created for us writers.

I'm not quick, but I do make jokes once in awhile, although I'm generally thoughtful and serious. I prefer and am more comfortable writing than speaking, but that's because Mercury is also conjunct Saturn.

I'd say I'm both. But, I've had friends tell me I'm intellectual. I'm very conscious of communicating in a balanced way and not allowing my emotions to distort the content of communication. I hadn't thought of attributing this to the aspect, but it makes sense.

When there's a problem, I like to sort things out by myself before I talk to the person. I work at communicating in a non-blaming way, but in order to do that, I need to think about what I'm going to say before I say it. I prefer being direct and open about feelings and what's going on, but I find that with some people that gets misinterpreted as being confrontational.

More great responses!

I think I've come to understand more so how this aspect works for me through you guys' responses.

Mercury is also sextile my Midheaven (every planet that aspects my Moon aspects my Midheaven, as the two are conjunct by zero degrees). I think aspects to the Midheaven often have to be worked on and reached for. They're like goals and a personal goal of mine has always been to be very easily sociable (Mercury) out in the world. I was more defensive or guarded (Moon) in public when I was a teenager/adolescent, sometimes painfully so, which translated into shyness or reserve to some, even though that Moon-Mercury inner dialogue was always racing and people would later realize that. Now, I find it very easy to carry on conversations with even strangers or acquaintances. But, I've sort of had to train myself to do that; almost like media coaching or something. Yet, since it's the Moon, as soon as I opened up that part of myself, it felt very natural and easy and spontaneous.

Funny how all of that works.

1. What is your Moon-Mercury aspect, including signs and houses?

Moon in Pisces 3rd opposite Mercury Retrograde in Virgo 9th (wide)

2. How often do you read and how well do you focus when you do?

I read constantly, but mostly short pieces. It's hard for me to finish a book, especially as I've gotten older.

EDIT: However, my focus when I am reading is intense. It was always a joke in my family that "she can't hear you; she's reading." Someone could stand right in front of me talking to me loudly and I wouldn't even know they were there.

3. Is writing a natural skill of yours, particularly creative writing?

I'm a decent technical or non-fiction writer, but I don't like to write long pieces. It's not a natural skill, and I think I don't have a creative bone in my body, although people who know me well disagree.

4. How quick are you in conversation? Do you make jokes and keep things flowing easily? How unfiltered is your speech?

I'm more a listener than a talker, except when discussing a topic I know a lot about. I value honesty, but wouldn't call my speech unfiltered - quite the contrary. I think a lot about how to say what I want to say without hurting the other person. I tend to repeat myself when I'm not sure the person understands what I mean.

5. Do you feel more lunar or mercurial or a good balance of both?

I'm always struggling to find a balance between the two.

6. Do you like to talk about your feelings with others or would you rather figure them out alone, maybe through a journal?

I love and need to talk about feelings. Deep feelings. Trained as a counselor; been in therapy for personal growth most of my life. I've always thought I should journal, but never keep at it for long.
