Transiting Jupiter will conjunct my natal Ascendant this year on my birthday! So this brings up the question for me...which do you prefer to do for birthdays...solar returns or progressions? Why?IP: Logged |

Easy Answer - both.If you want to know how your year will pan out, probably SR. I personally haven't had much success looking at SR charts. Only thing that stands out for me is SR Venus conj SR Sun. The following year has always been very good for romance. **Though I suspect the SR would likely play out within the confines of the progressed chart. Eg. If you're having a New Moon in your PC, this will mark the major theme for the next five to seven years of your life. This aspect, imo, will take precedence over all others. A SR aspect will then mark year #1 in this new cycle. IP: Logged |

So either type of chart...how would you read them? Like you would a natal chart? And also like you would a synastry of sorts to the natal chart? I took a peek. In the SR there's a nasty looking Moon, Pluto, Mercury t-square that lines up on my points...and another opposition. So I should know the approach before I dive in. IP: Logged |

Yea, like a natal or transit chart. However, SR isn't my strong suit.IP: Logged |

Progressions. Solar returns are dependent on how you cast it. Progressed moon shows up the most obviously for theyour emotional state for the next year or so.IP: Logged |
