I think we learn from sharing. I think people have to develop tougher skins. Society is sanitizing things more and more, such that even comedians can't make jokes. Letterman made a joke last night and it was "sexist" and people got mad. That is Orwell's 1984. Leno said he did not want Mexican food for lunch and people were calling him racist. People talk trash about Gemini all the time. I don't care. That is their opinion. I am Venus in Gemini. This may be the most trashed Venus. I don't care. Man, I can't stand to live in a sanitized world. Everyone should read Orwell's "Animal Farm" and "1984" Believe me, you don't want to live a sanitized life! ------------------

Hey Ami,I agree with you on this. I've seen a lot of negative opinions about a few of my placements, but that doesn't bother me. Some I even agree with! I've seen positive opinions too, and sometimes don't agree with them  It's all relative and subjective. What bothers me with, for example, "Cancer vs. Aries" threads is that it leads to people arguing and generalising. Generalisations can be fun, but not in the context of competing about which sign is better. You can't learn anything from such a discussion, and I, who am still a newbie in astrology, am here to learn so I steer away from those threads, regardless of whether they mention a placement of mine or not  IP: Logged |

Well, people are so oversensitive and too easily offended these times. God, I've seen so much trash talking about Cancers and Scorpios (I'm heavily influenced by both signs) and I was not offended at all, maybe because I'm able to admit that some of those bad things said about those two signs are true for me IP: Logged |

I agree people are too easily offended generally, and maybe that's why I dislike threads which compare 2 signs - it's almost never a healthy discussion, it usually turns into an argument, even if that wasn't the original intention.If it were people sharing observations and experience, without giving or taking offence, it would be another story. More like intellectual debates, rather than emotive ones. Good point about wanting to hear both the positive and the negative - I aim for this as well, though sometimes it's hard to see the forrest for the trees and find something to learn in a thread where there is a full-blown argument in progress. The emotive ones are good, too. When I first came on, a guy was dissing Venus in Gemini up to the hilts. I was interested because it is my Venus. Some of what he said was true. I was not insulted. Each placement has good and bad. If someone wants to emotionally spout off the bad, that is good for learning too imo On here, people were saying that Gemini lies. I don't. I have a Cancer Moon. I am very honest. I did not take it personally. Gemini may have that slice to it but I don't, so why worry ------------------
