Leo is forever confident, Capricorn often self-doubts.

And so this push-pull dynamic in a birthcahrt often has someon who "appears" a lot more "toetehr" and confident , than they actually are.

The more moutains Capricorn climbs, the higher their confidnce is. the les mountains there are to climb, the less confident they are.

Leo thinks themselves great regardless. And therein lies the difference.

Often Capricorn will say "what makes you so confident and self-assured Leo?"

To which Leo will answer " Nothing. I just am".

the self doubt and shakiness .. would that not be moon in capricorn more? isn't mars like the execution? so he'd go about getting what he wants in a cap way and whatever self doubts etc whether he has them or not that would be tied to his moon?

If the individual is young, there might be a tendency to run over people. All mars in cap I've met felt like they have to be their own parents. It is an exalted mars nonetheless. So even though there's some hesitant, given time, a cap mars will be able to make plan and approach a problem in a methodological manner. I don't typically see a cap mars back away from a problem unless the native is really young.

Another tricky feature with cap mars is that cap energy isn't passionate. It's not mars-ruled so if the person isn't sure of success, he will back out. Mars in cap don't pursue.
