So....is it bad that with 8th house Sun (conjunct chart ruler Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th) and Scorpio Moon-Jupiter in the 6th, I HATE the 8th house and Pluto? I hate how it has manifested in my life. I know that for me Pluto is about personal power vs. victimization, but also some major traumas (mostly traumas that unfortunately I could see coming from when I was a child) and worst fears realized. All Pluto and the 8th house have done for me is cause pain, PTSD and OCD, and lots and lots of therapy. I've never felt safe and secure and have trouble believing that I ever will be. I will say, it has helped me to "see" people, places, events, etc. well before anything takes place, but this has only freaked me out and prevented me from accepting any good that can come from this kind of "gift." I try not to blame Pluto but really, can't I be ignorant? What's next? Should I duck and cover? Ugh. Anyone else feel the same?

Here's my chart for reference:

I have pluto in 8th and I have been a receiving end of abuse, attempted murders to mention a few but I don't feel like a victim.

I feel ya.. venus and saturn in 8th and all that its done for me is prevent me from fully being happy and enjoying the moment because i know that this wont last and that whenever i am happy , the rug is pulled beneath my feet and everything falls apart. I have been a victim, sexually and emotionally and i believe these aspects explain this as I have read numerous times that people with 8th house placements are susceptible to it. On a brighter note, we have a huge healing ability and most healers have 8th house placements. That is, if, of course, we sort out our issues and overcome them!

It's not easy. I have sun conj mercury too in the 8th plus scorp rising. It's been tough to say the least. I can relate to what has been said. I have been subject to abuse, always having to watch that people don't walk all over me. Standing in my own power has been a lifelong lesson. I used to deny this part of myself too and just wanted to be 'normal'. Sometimes I think it would be easier to just be ignorant and not want to delve so deeply into knowing 'what lies beneath', scoping people out etc. Also my relationships have suffered because I believe that when someone is plutonian and the other person isn't, they can't always deal with the growth that is asked of them when pluto touches them and so power struggles happen and all sorts of defenses to deter this from happening.

I can relate to your PTSD and OCD. I can only suggest that in time this will get better, especially if you find a damn good therapist or some other sort of intervention. I had to have several sessions of biofeedback which probably saved me during a tough time dealing with those issues from the loss of someone very close to me.

Having said all that, it definitely has its blessings, really makes you appreciate life and gives you an impeccable sense of truth about people and situations. Life becomes more than just motions.

there may also be some progressions/transits you may be experiencing at the moment that could be making you feel a bit heavier too. I wouldn't discount those.

I have Sun conjunct Saturn in the 8th house of my birth chart. I don't hate it.

You'll never get anywhere working with your astrological influences so long as 'hate' is your outlook. Judgments about whether it is bad or wrong are irrelevant. Its just not effective in dealing with life or astrological influences.

False. This is based on a limited or distorted understanding of 8th house factors.

I want to suggest that you don't know your chart as well as you think and that there is the ability within you to transmute any perceived negatives into definite positives and strengths.

About Pluto in your chart, it is sextile Sun-Neptune. You do have Saturn contra-parallel Pluto, which does set up some challenges of learning control/power balance, particularly relating to authority structures, but that is normal.

I'd say that transiting Saturn (and probably Pluto) is coloring your outlook at the moment. Saturn has been parallel your natal Venus recently. And Pluto has also been making challenging parallels to points in your natal chart.

Blame achieves nothing, not even blaming particular astrological factors. You're going to live with them the rest of your life, so what good does blame do? Transform it into determination.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your responses. My original post was meant to be more of a "vent" and less of an "I don't know my chart very well or the 8th house or Pluto works, etc. and therefore I will blame Pluto / 8th house" This anger comes from recent Pluto transits that have resulted in a lot of pain and grief. I have been working with a therapist for some time, learning to own my personal power.

As far as what's been going on, I just finished Pluto-Sun and Pluto-Mercury transits, as well as my Saturn Return a few years ago and the subsequent conjunctions to planets in my 6th house as Saturn moved forward. Since the Sun-Pluto transit, I left an abusive marrige (which was a powerful decision, transformative, and something I am quite proud of), was sexually assaulted a number of times, entered into a very Plutonic relationship where my boyfriend had been hiding his addictions and cheating multiple times with a number of people, 3 car accidents (most likely Uranus-Mars influence there), and the sudden, completely unexpected death of a beloved best friend and family member who had just finished his Saturn Return as well (the day after my wedding / 1st day of my honeymoon). These are a few of the events that have happened to me since Saturn began to move through my 5th and 6th houses and formed a conjunction with Jupiter, Moon (depression, restriction), and then Pluto while simultaneously going through these Pluto transits.

This post was meant to pose a question about whether other people in this forum have also struggled with anger related to 8th house / Pluto influences. Unfortunately, the reality IS that Pluto transits have caused me a lot of pain and grief and have made it difficult for me to appreciate any transformation it may create. Perhaps I haven't arrived at it yet. I have become much stronger already due to my recent transits.

I do not project my anger or dissatisfaction with my chart or allow the struggles I am facing to influence others, especially those who I do readings for. I focus on their charts and some of the challenges they may face and try to help them from there.

In short, I am concerned that there is the implication that I may not know my chart very well (which is the complete opposite case), or that I harbor a lot of hate and blame. I suppose my original post was confusing and I didn't clarify my reasons for posting it. I imagine it made me seem less like someone venting and more someone who doesn't "get" their chart.

Now, I have Pluto transiting my 8th house and Saturn will be transiting my 7th soon, so that should be fun. Good thing I'm working through this with a therapist! If anyone else would like to reply and tell me about their experiences with Pluto / 8th house I would love to read about them.

I am grateful for everyone's responses.
