inspired by the 'you know your obsessed with astrology when..' thread

so obviously birth times are really important for astro so how do you go about finding out people's birth times on the sly.. say on a date or out with friends?

the ones that don't know you're heavy into astrology.

bonus if you can tell me how you get them to call up their mums!

i usually just ask straight out cause i don't know what else to day :S

I don't make a secret out of being into astrology with my friends. If I thought they'd judge me as being a little "cray cray" - I wouldn't see them as *real* friends and I wouldn't really care about their charts or getting closer.

I can't be bothered with judgmental people.
So - I would just ask about their date/time of birth. I wouldn't employ any devious tactics haha

:edit: Actually I realised typing this that I only really ask for people's details if I'm already close to them or if they are someone I want to get close to. Otherwise I'm disinterested lol

But I do a lot of charts for people who ask me about it - so they volunteer their details! And I also look at historical figures sometimes - or people who were/are either famous or notorious.

In my opinion, I feel one should feel comfortable asking the birth time of the people close to them or ones they want to get closer to. So I don't beat around the bush. I just ask.

I usually (kinda) lie and say that I'm collecting data on birth times to compare them to sleep patterns (night owls vs early birds).

When I was curious about my boyfriend's birth time, I didn't want to come across creepy for asking his birth time for no reason. lol. I read somewhere in an article that you feel most energized during the time when you were born, (i.e. if you were born at 2 pm, then it is when you are most likely to feel energized and be active) So I told him about that article and he was like "oh yeah, I was born around 1 am that might be why I'm such a night owl" SUCCESS!

Sometimes people like to lie about birthdays/birth time just to mess with you (they don't believe in astrology, etc) so I just make up a reason.

This might be a very unortodox way to do it but if I don't feel close enough to someone to ask, I use tarot cards to narrow down their ascendant sign.

First I ask what element is their ascendant
cups=water
swords=air
pentacles=Earth
wands=fire

Then I'll ask one by one which sign

So for example I'll ask what element a persons asc is and I get a cup card.

then i'll ask if a person is a pisces.
card is reversed so no.

Scorpio?
card is upright

So I use scorpio as the ascendant

If a Major arc card comes up, check which sign rules that card. Make sure you ask a clarifying question as it may not be the same sign but one that shares an element or quality.

Out of the ones I've been able to verify I've been right roughly 75% of the time

Just ask them straight out, and if they decline, then accept that answer.

Brilliant! I should try that.

My subtle method is finding a way to tell people my birth time, in a really casual, offhand way. Most people will just naturally respond with their birth time, if they know it, or I'll progress the conversation by asking them. That makes it just seem totally natural and spur-of-the-moment, not "I'm going to look up your birth chart information!"

That is such an Aries thing to do.Lol

I start off with "I think I am probably the only person in this room that knows the exact time that they were born..."

I usually am not

I just ask.

Whether we've known each other for 3 seconds or 3 years.

They can either ask why you want the information if it seems a bit weird or they can not ask and still think you're weird.

Either way, it doesn't hurt to ask. You will either get the time of birth or a new person to add to your "they're creeped out" fanclub.

Neither of these have worked for me lol.

Funny!

Surely, asking about their brith time must be much easier than as if you were to ask if the other person has a condom. LOL
