I know what the popular answer to this will be but I also would like to see if there are any aspects/placements that may be a surprise to some of us. So let's say that there is a person. They are loving, kind, love to joke and laugh. They are loyal to those near and dear to them but they have expectations. A code by which family must live by and a code by which friends must live by in order to be in their life; part of their trusted circle. Sort of like, "I'm there when you need me and I expect that you are there when I need you, or at least act like that you wish you could be." Honesty is highly regarded, integrity. Once someone is considered "expendable" and any slight form of betrayal is sensed, then it can almost be a sick game to say something hurtful and then ignore the person, yet watching (online or through messages received) them squirm in misery.
To cause suffering and observe it.
Signs/placements/aspects?
I know Scorpio/pluto may be popular, but is that all?

Possibly disharmonious aspects between Pluto and Chiron, or Saturn and Chiron.. (Although, I have an opposition, and I don't like to see other people suffer in any way...)Or. Maybe a disharmonious aspect including Mars, Chiron, and the Moon..
However.. I feel the main one other than Pluto would possibly be Saturn, in certain occasions..

Wow!!
I never made any of those connections with who I had in mind but the only one NOT true in this case is Pluto hard aspect to Chiron.
Oh, moon and mars not in hard aspect to Chiron either, but moon/mars in hard aspect. Otherwise they all apply to this person. IP: Logged |

You know, I've known more Cancer suns and moons to be that way (save valuing honesty, unlike Scorpios they don't want the truth if it hurts them and theirs) than Scorpios. I think it's just that while Scorpio can be meaner it also typically takes a lot more before a Scorpio feels compelled to (otherwise they're more likely to ice you out where they feel nothing for you) whereas it's much easier to get on the bad side of a Cancer who feels compelled to punish you somehow. Heck, Cancers can be prone to bigotry who punish those outside their trusted group on general principle (it's the negative side of loyalty and patriotism they might manifest which means acting against the perceived enemies of their group). That's not to be said they're all like that (and I knew a Cancer sun who used to be a terrible bigot but did a complete 180 after his life was saved by a black man--one he'd treated terribly, though mostly behind his back--after his white friends left him to die), but I am more cautious than usual toward Cancers and Scorpios both...even so, some of the people I've appreciated (and appreciate today) the most have prominent Cancer and Scorpio placements (and that includes a Cancer sun and a Cancer moon today whom I love dearly). I repeat, I don't assume they're that way...but if someone was being cruel like that over a long period of time over something petty I'd suspect a Cancer sun or moon being involved first. I kept thinking Capricorn... possibly the Moon, up until I got to the last part. When a Capricorn-type cuts someone out, they do it because they lost trust and they are done. Period.
It has nothing to do with revenge and watching them squirm.

... That being said, if you were the water sign... and they had Capricorn influence, and they cut contact... you (as the water sign) might imagine crazy things about how they want to make you suffer, punish you and watch you squirm.

I've seen this in 3 people I know closely.One is a Scorpio Sun, Pluto and Mercury, AC at Leo 1 degree
The other one is a Cancer Sun, Mercury and Mars, Sag AC
The third one is a Libra Sun, Scorpio Venus and Mars, Aquarius AC The Scorpio does it only as a revenge, if she feels she's been 'wronged', and it is usually carefully planned out. She's not very good at it though  The Cancer does it spontaneously, for fun. She told me once, when she mentioned she had been fighting a lot with her boyfriend recently, "but this is normal, right? It's always pleasurable to watch your favourite person hurt, and its great after that when you make up". The Libra has perfected this art, and has a large collection of stories of how she's put people 'in their place'. It's an inherent part of her personality really. IP: Logged |

Considering I just had a conversation about this today with my friend , it's really just about difference in core values. If you feel someone is like this, then just consider you are different people that won't mesh well. They may not be looking at it as torturing the person. They may be protecting themselves by cutting off what they know won't work out well.
Some of the signs that have been pointed out make sense. Cancer/ taurus/ scorpio
