I have Libra on the cusp & most of that house is libra except for a tiny slice of 5*scorp. To say I hate arguing and confrontation as is an extreme understatement lol. I am a major avoider when it comes to arguing. I usually just walk away or take the blame for whatever the beef us about just so I can end the argument🙈😁.

It also doesn't help that my Mercury is in gem lol I like to keep things lighthearted

Interesting that you ask about the 3rd house cusp... I am not sure that's where we should look at, although it makes sense since the 3H stands for our communication / thinking processes.

I have a few examples that don't quite fit with that theory. For instance, a Libra on the 3H cusp who doesn't mind arguing (and Venus is in a peaceful sign - Taurus).

I myself have Cancer on the 3H cusp, and I indeed abhor conflict and confrontation, though I can engage in it if really pushed (depending on the person and the matter at hand). (Moon in Virgo with a bunch of aspects to it.)

I kind of usually blame it on my Libra Venus though. Ha.

Empty Cancer 3H here. I do not handle it well at all. It's not that I don't think it's good, it's just the overwhelming feeling of it that sends me ballistic, though I don't mind if I'm particularly close to the other person.

My third house is Gemini. I have an unaspected Venus in Gemini sitting in said house. Despite this placement, I usually just speak my mind when in an argument. i can get a bit rude and blunt sometimes. Other times, i just walk away or pretend to care what the other person as saying by saying "Yeah, yeah, uh-huh...."

If it helps, my Mercury is in Cancer in the 4th house (fourth house sign is Gemini)opposite saturn/neptune, conjunct Sun/Jupiter. Saturn is Square Mars in Aries and Sextile moon in Scorpio.

Capricorn in the 3rd house cusp, Neptune, Uranus and T. Pluto in the 3rd house

I love it!! I like to rip apart the other person to shreds, with words. Capricorn in the 3rd house cusp and Mercury conjunct Saturn gives me the precision to hit the weak spots. I also have Mercury square Pluto.

Leo 3rd house

I like confrontations only when it's necessary because I can rip a person's face off the earth when I do. I avoid it when I don't have to go through it.

I'm usually the first to confront, but when people confront me first, I get real uncomfortable.

Leo 3rd cusp (ruled by Sun in 11th, in Aries).
I am very comfortable with confrontation. I much prefer someone confront me, than behave in a passive-aggressive way.

I feel like this gives both of us an opportunity to air the issues and -sort things out-.

I don't see "confrontation" as the person shouting non-sensical things my way btw. If this kind of thing happened, I wouldn't talk to them at all.
I would tell them they need to cool off.. and I'm happy to talk to them in a few days time - and then I would leave lol

I guess.. you could say that I only like -productive- confrontation (and people who are reasonable enough to be able to do this).

As for me... I only confront people who I believe can handle it, and who I want to continue being friends with.
If I felt like - there was no way to confront the person... because they are too withdrawn to respond or because it would scare them - I wouldn't go there. I would simply avoid them and distance myself.
Or if I felt like they are completely unreasonable and I can't have a conversation with them, without them shouting - screaming or crying... again, I would just distance myself.

I don't know if 3H is the answer.... Mine is cancer and my moon is Aries so I just approach the situation upfront and resolve whatever issues there is.

Hmm, so would you say the 3rd house isn't necessarily necessary how we communicate but more so the way we prefer to be communicated to by other people?

Virgo 3H cusp

I usually end up angry and make the situation way too personal aiming to make the other person feel like crap for putting me in that position. I don't care for confrontation and avoid it for the most part because I don't like how mean I can be.

Pisces merc conjunct sun
Sextile Taurus Moon
Square Mars/Uranus conjunction

I have a 3H Libra stellium. As Libra is a cardinal sign that loves to "balance" (read: debate) then I generally don't fear confrontation ('course the Sag stellium that includes Mars and the Leo ASC help). Libra can also debate simply as a mental exercise (I call it mental masturbation, though Libra isn't the only one prone to it) and I've enjoyed Librans who understood that about me who'd play along (though my Aquarius/Pisces with Gemini ASC friend is real good at that, too, but then she has Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Libra).

Linda Goodman even once gave amusing advice on how to get Libras to agree with you that does work sometimes--in a matter of speaking since a Libra is often just trying for "balance" rather than personal beliefs--by stating your view as the opposite of what you hold and the Libra will reflexively make an excellent argument for you that you can use later as Libra seeks to justify an opposing viewpoint to the one you gave and sharing it with you.

That said, I don't appreciate spinning my wheels pointlessly or resorting to common critical thinking errors (especially ad hominem) either so I won't necessarily waste my time as that defeats the purpose, especially if it might cause me long lasting problems (like say hurt my business, but even in that case I don't typically keep unpleasant business relationships going, it's just I can make up an excuse that spares their feelings and ego rather than tell them the real reason why I'm cutting them off, or find a way to get around the problem rather than dealing with it when I know it can't be dealt with rationally). And in some cases I avoid confrontation with certain people I'm close to as I know they just can't handle it, but it's not because I fear confrontation, it's because I care about them and don't think they can handle it (though I won't let them walk over me either, but if they were the type who tried regularly then I wouldn't be get close enough to them to develop a lot of extra patience for them).

Of course when holding my tongue and being patient proves to be worthless and the damage is being done anyway then I'll confront, usually in a way that I find amusing (since I know it's pointless to reason with them I'll just find a way to have fun about it instead, including pranks which might be my Sag Mars-Uranus at work, and if it discourages my tormentors then so much the better).

I have aquarius in my 3rd house (btw empty of planets), I guess I can be very good avoiding confrontations... but my Sun opposite Pluto (pisces-virgo houses 4 and 10) and Mars conjunct Saturn (taurus in house 5) don't help me much LOL!

Ummm... Well since we're both Aries and both fire tigers and have similar charts... I'd say you're probably open to confrontation.. Right?
I wouldn't think you love it.. but it's not something you'd hide from.

3H Libra cusp. I hate confrontation and try to diplomatic as possible. However, I have a 3H Mercury in Scorpio opposite 9H Mars in Taurus. Push me and tell me to go get my shoeshine box (Goodfellas reference), I will make you cry.

I am not a confrontational person. I tend to have a so-called "build up"

I for instance, will not be easily provoked or respond when someone does something strange or abrasive.

I usually assume that the other person is having a bad day and not at their best. So I brush it aside.

But if the said person and I start to have a frequent association with each other. And their attitude doesn't change much. i tend to explode.

The anger also doesn't go away and there is usually an 'absolute' decision; either I stop talking to the person or demand that our relationship be better.

I have the 3rd house cusp in Gemini with the Moon there.

The Moon opposes Mercury and squares Mars.

Maybe... It's really hard to understand in my case since my south node is in Cancer. I love Cancer writers or the Gem with Cancer influences. I also have lots of cappuccino influences ....

i have an Aries moon so I'm pretty much always happy ... Handling conflicts tend to go like this:
-if it's minor, my Aries moon comes out and be playful
- if it's somewhat bad, my Saturn influences come out and handle things step by step. I have cap Mars so I'll construct a clear argument that I have shown up for my part but the other person has not. I'll have all the evidences at hand so no one says any thing. I'll leave some room for the other person to retain dignity and can come back and apologize
-if it's a little worse, as in I won't even bother with the person, my body language makes it clear that I have no interest in acknowledging the other person exists and they should avoid contact with me AT ALL COSTS. That's my Aqua sun and Pluto in 7th.
-if the person really ****** me off, I'll come back with something that will tattoo my name on their forehead for having crossed me. Then I go back to the step above and expect they do not contact me.

My point is redundant. I think sun, moon , Mars and the whole chart should've taken into consideration.

One of my roommates has the same rising degrees as mine. But she has less stressful aspects and a cancer Mars to add. She has 5th moon in Virgo and 9th sun in Capricorn. So she's significantly less combatant. She'd just ice ppl out for a period of time and then she'll be fine with the person. So even though we both have Pluto in 7th, all the other positions really add. Sun square Pluto has the worst anger I think ... Think Margaret Thatcher...

I would have to agree, my friend.

I can handle confrontation. I just don't do well with people who deliver their message in a rude fashion! Because if they get nasty, I can get NASTIER. And we don't need that! Let's be civil.

I like what you said about confrontation being "productive". If my interactions with you are a waste of my time...I'm done talking to you. And you'll become totally irrelevant to me from that day forward - which always *stings* people.

I'm a diplomatic communicator UNTIL you act a fool with me. Then you're toast! Lol.
