Charts are great, but sometimes, pictures can say a thousand words about someone's true "soul".

Hence, I'm asking your objective opinion.

Based on the picture below, what kind of industry should I be working in (regardless of my placements)?

Once again, I'm at a crossroads between creativity and stability. I'm therefore confused!

The picture is removed because some childish member chose to quote it to get under my skin about a fight that happened 6+ months ago. Some individuals on here need to grow up.

Please, don't quote!

Thank you all for your help

Something where you'll be in the public eye. I'm getting a vibe that your work is retail / department store / cosmetic or clothing related at the moment.

Model?

Partly kidding.

Seriously.... To me you look like you like to help people. Maybe something like a realtor. Helping people buy their starter home, dream home, etc.
Or medical field of some sort. (Lots of options!)
Finances...
I don't know why I feel that.

Some sort of service.
Definitely working publicly with others.

I kinda felt that way too.. Seems like you would be good at helping others. To me, for some reason some type of counselor or psychology position came to mind.. But, compared to what others have said, it seems I may be off.

Then again, I could also kind of see being some type of dancer, like Intuitivefish said.

psychologist or therapist especially with children. You have a knack for getting to the heart of the matter.

It's more of a glamour shot, so modelling came to mind first; but then, I thought perhaps a nurse -- something in the helping field.

This method of asking has piqued my interest, though. I wonder if you can actually see one's career in a photo.

Thank you all for your help! You were all so insightful, I'm very surprised. Who knew a picture would say so much about one's persona?

I am actually a law graduate, so this first "qualification" falls within the career types recommended as the legal field provides services and help to individuals. My fields of interest would be : corporate law (which is my current occupation field), health or children/women's rights (human rights).

The last two fields are quite hard to get into because you need a lot of volunteering/pro-bono experience which I currently do not have (trying to get some).

However, I'm not "tough" enough to work in a cut-throat corporate/competitive environment which is what the legal field seems to be all about.

@Ann7: I actually worked for several high end fashion houses as a showroom assistant. It didn't end too well because I wasn't tough enough to stand up for myself then. I was very insecure and lacked confidence. In hindsight, I should not have let these people tear me apart like they did.

I do however own a fashion blog which I hope will be successful at some point.

@intuitivefish, Odette: I love "arts" in so many forms. I absolutely love dancing and singing as they are outlets for me. I could never live without these two hobbies. My high school music teach suggested I pursue singing/dancing instead of a "regular" career, I didn't. Because what we're taught is to "get a job", "have money" and "start a family".

Having a routinesque life never seemed appealing to me. I can't picture myself living a typical life "job", "boyfriend"/"husband", "kids", "mortgage".

@ReadingTheStars95, quietstorm: Thank you for your recommendations! I have tons of psychology and sociology magazines/books at home, because I want to understand people and why they behave in certain ways. Every single person who knows me on a personal level says "I'm a good listener/advisor" yet I never though of it as a career track (except when I was contemplating pursuing criminal law).

I have a lot of empathy and feel people's pain as if it were my very own (to the point where I can cry). It's sometimes too intense, I can't handle it.

I like working in "business" environments because they provide stability, of course. However, my creativity is non-existent which can sometimes irritate me (I would sometimes check fashion blogs while at work).

Choosing between what you should do and what you want to do is had. Stability or taking a risk?

I'm jealous of those whose passion revolve around one stable field which they specialize in later on. I really do.

That said, I wouldn't be able to handle being one-dimensional, so ... Argh. What a confusing time. Maybe this second Saturn transit is making me question my entire life!

Well you mentioned a couple of times your interest in fashion plus you write well so maybe something in the journalistic field.

You could look out for openings in a magazine perhaps and write in regardless of whether you're suitable for the job or not, or just approach them even if there isn't a position available. You obviously want a job that you love and which inspires you, unfortunately so does everyone else so you have to try a bit harder to get those kind of jobs.

It sounds like a more traditional corporate environment stifles you and doesn't bring out the best in you. So go for something where you think you'll shine.

Thank you very much Jo B!

Yes, I do have to try harder indeed. The truth is that my fears of not being suitable for the job(s) hold me back from breaking those walls. In reality, those fears are in my head. It is a lack of confidence in my abilities that generates this "paralysis".

As you said, everyone wants a job they love and the only way to get there is to "fight". My former supervisor told me that I need to show people I exist because I work too much behind the scenes and never showcase my abilities which is detrimental to my progress. The problem isn't so much my professional capabilities or skills, it is the fact that I don't seek jobs in a sort of "egomaniac/look at me" way.

Self-importance is often valued in higher positions and my humility gets the best of me.

I think I sort of need to build myself a "strong" persona and show people I exist. I don't lack charisma in any way, I just view things from a "humility" angle which doesn't work in my favor.

The problem comes from the fact that I attended a top college and more often than not, lecturers told me I wasn't "good enough". I was a straight-A student in high school, graduated with the highest grades, I was very confident. Then, when I attended this so-called "top university", all of my qualities got crushed.

By the time I was done with my degree, I became the shadow of the strong person I once was. I regretted going to this college and even pursuing the degree. I thought I wasn't made to be a high-achiever. I no longer have confidence in my intelligence or abilities. I was scared.

Slowly but surely, I will revert back to the person I once was but it's taking some time because those scars are deeply rooted in my spirit.

Please post a link to your fashion blog. Maybe that's the key. Combining your business sense with your fashion sense might be just the mix. While blogging is extremely competitive (been doing it off and on for 12 years now), the ones that succeed = big money.

Well I understand that. University damaged my confidence a bit too, mostly because like you I was a high achiever at school and then when I got to uni (which included music performance) I was rubbing shoulders with a couple of musicians who I thought were better than me and it just made me feel insecure and self-doubting about why I was there. I wanted to leave after the first year - even though one of my lecturers said I was on line for a "first" in my degree. I hit a depression at the beginning of my second and really wanted to drop out. I felt I'd be better off just going into the job market and that I'd been in education for too long without a break. (I highly recommend gap years to anyone who is thinking of going to university but wants to try the "university of life" first).

Anyway, back to the subject. The other thing I thought of while reading your post was have you considered doing a course in assertiveness, because in any work environment - whether it be corporate or creative - you're going to have a certain degree of confidence. You have to find out what your strengths are and promote them, while working on any weaknesses. It will come.

Take a risk!
Think about it this way... What's the worst that could happen? You could still have a part-time job while pursuing a career in music.
The only difference would be that you would earn less - so your life would be somewhat less comfortable ... for a while. But I do think it's worth it.

If you try... if you give it your best shot... and fail, then it is what it is. You can always go back to your 'regular' job in the future.
But if you don't try at all you'll always regret it!
You owe it to yourself to give yourself a chance

I have Capricorn in my chart, so I always put a timeline on things. If I was in your shoes I would give myself maybe 2, 3 years... and put all my energy and passion into the things I love (for you that's music, singing, dance, art)... and see whether I can climb my own personal mountain in those areas. And if I made it - I would be ecstatic of course. But if I didn't, I would still be happy that I tried my best.
Just my two cents... Good luck with whatever you decide!

Something strikes me in you as a compassionate person.
Maybe your criteria of choice should be:
"Will I be more useful and helpful in a creative profession OR as someone who helps in a stable profession changing the system from the inside?"

May sound crazy but that's what came to my mind by looking at you.
Good Luck :-)))

Yep, immature move AmelieRose. Spend more time sorting your own emotional problems out rather than stirring things up in other people's threads. People gave you advice in your soul unions thread (despite me thinking it's all falling on deaf ears). So don't think you're the only one who needs guidance.

Unfortunately, due to certain members' immatury, I am choosing not to post a link to my blog/youtube channel for privacy purposes.

However, you can have a little "preview" of what my style looks like and if you wish to do so, give me some constructive criticism:

I know the quality isn't the best, but these videos/pictures are only for "testing" purposes. They still require some heavy editing.

Video I shot last Sunday :

Thanks

^^ I definitely see you working for a fashion publication of some kind. Or as a stylist. It's obviously your passion.
