I am curious about planets in intercepted signs.
The reason being, I have four planets, my north node, south node and black moon lillith in them

I have mercury(ruler of my AC) in intercepted Scorpio, as well as Venus(ruler of my sun sign), Jupiter and Pluto and my north node

I as well have intercepted Taurus in the twelfth house, with black moon lillith there and south node conjunct.

So a majority of my chart's planets are basically in intercepted signs.

Now, would this mean I have some psychological problems dealing with security and obsession? For, I too have Intercepted sign Venus conjunct intercepted sign Pluto in Scorpio.
It is worth noting that i have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

I think the black moon lillith in intercepted Taurus means I never felt security from my mother, no less it conjuncts my south node by 1degree, I'm secure with not being secure? :/

Growing up I had a difficult childhood, so I am wondering would planets in intercepted signs be the same as intercepted signs?

And could someone offer me clarity on my own? Thank you!

Hi,

Interesting topic-I have personal experience with interceptions as well, I have my Sun, Mars and Ceres all conjunct in Cancer (which is intercepted in my 10th), Eros is also there-though it's in the early degrees of Cancer-and isn't conjunct the rest.

I have retrograde Neptune (which happens to be my 7th house ruler) and the Moon (which rules my Sun) in the 4th/Capricorn-which is obviously also intercepted.

Before actually moving onto my thoughts re planets in Intercepted houses, I’ll focus on the signs-I once read an article (which I’ve unfortunately misplaced) that theorised that intercepted signs are at first subtle, hardly noticeable influences on the houses in question-though in time, they become at least as powerful (if not moreso) than the “main” ruler. I’d say this holds true for me-I have my MC at 29 Degrees Gemini and my work primarily involves playing “mainstream” music and light-hearted communication. As time has passed though I’ve noticed that Cancer has been growing in influence-I want to play more “out there” music-and want to turn my attention to discussing deeper topics, like politics, spiritualism etc. This isn’t to say I don’t like doing more light-hearted material as well, but I’m now just as comfortable discussing more serious issues. As well as the communication, I’m also interested in doing a bit more writing professionally-this was something I had a vague interest in at best, before Pluto’sshift into my 4th house.

I’m not sure exactly how the Sagittarius/Capricorn dynamic will pan out with the 4th house though-I suppose it could be something to do with doing increasing amounts of work from home-and taking my home life more seriously.

I've heard that heavy transits/progressions through intercepted houses can help "unblock" the potential of the house/sign in question, though obviously with some planets (like Pluto), the ways and means of mastering that potential aren't easy-and are often subtle when it comes to producing actual results.

I can say with certainty this is true for me-Pluto has been transiting my 4th house ever since 2007/8-around the time I finished my formal education and started actively looking for work in my chosen career field. Since then I've felt Pluto's transformation of my home/work life to varying degrees, though until it started making opositions to my Sun I'd say the energy was a lot more subtle in manifestation. Not long before 2012 (when the Pluto/Sun opposition kicked in), I took on more managerial responsibilities at work, though to say that hasn't been smooth sailing is an understatement. We were literally hours away from closing at that time-and personally I'm still amazed to this day that we survived by the skin of our teeth, lots of other people (including those in upper management) walked. As a result of this I ended up taking on more extra work-to the extent I didn't have a single day off work for about 18 months. I believe this contributed to my bouts of anxiety I've been getting since 2013. The fact that some colleagues in management didn't exactly go out of their way to do their own work, or communicate with me didn't help, especially since some people not in positions of management assumed I knew what was going on with them (as you would, I suppose). 2013 was the year Uranus and Pluto both made an exact aspect to my Sun-it was around that time I decided to take a weeks' holiday (all be it a"working" one in part)-in the hope that I'll be able to go back in all guns blazing again with no anxiety, needless to say it didn't really pan out that way. If anything, it got worse-and it was only around the time of the final Pluto/Sun opposition I admitted to myself that I couldn't carry on with the workload I was keeping at the time. Also the more my anxiety worsened, the more I panicked that it was actually something more "serious" if that's the right word-and that prompted me to see a doctor (which believe me, is a rarity).

Since then my anxiety is still there, but it's nowhere near as severe as in 2013/14 (the doc sent me for tests-and they all came back negative, which assuaged my mind about my health-related worries).

Career-wise, I've now made up my mind to go it alone and set up my own business-I like the majority of my work-and the managerial side of things to a degree, but I really like being my own boss/working at my own pace as much as possible. Furthermore, a lot of this work (by necessity if nothing else) will be done at home-bringing in the 4th/10th house axis.

Pluto will soon oppose my Mars (it nearly did in April, but retrograded 0.09 of a Degree too soon). Interestingly, Mars is the apex planet of a yod also involving Uranus/Jupiter in my natal.

Also, with my Moon in Capricorn, I'm a few years off the Pluto/Moon conjunction as well. I'm not sure how exactly either transit will manifest, but I know both are likely to signify major turning points in my life-whether through external events or a more internal metamorthasis-and will go some way to "unblocking" the 4th/10th house potential.

In terms of progressions, my prog Venus has just moved into Cancer/the 10th house (and will conjunct Eros in a little over a year), so maybe this will help me as well.

As to how it’ll affect you (and to cut a long and laborious story short lol), watch for heavy transits/progressions through those houses (and touching planets), along with natal planets in your 6th/12th progressing to the 7th/1st. I’m assuming you’re a Libra native? In which case, your Progressed Sun will be moving into Intercepted Scorpio in a few years-that might shine more light on why you feel insecure/making you more able todeal with them perhaps. In terms of transits, Uranus will be moving through Torus in a couple of years’ time-so chances are that’ll shake things up a bit. When Uranus was kicking up a fuss in my 4th my home environment went through changes at breakneck speed, though the biggest alterations (me going away to boarding school and the birth of my sister) occurred when Uranus hit Neptune and the moon respectively (and although Neptune is in Capricorn, it’s in the early degrees-so is close enough to be conjunct the IC). I can say the lessons I learnt during the Moon conjunction in particular went some way to unblocking my 4th house potential-even at the age of 7 I learnt a lot about my relation to my family/roots, very quickly.

Finally, what signs are Duplicated in your chart? And if applicable, what planets are in those houses (both in the natal and in transit/progression)? They’re meant to provide part of the puzzle to unlocking your intercepted signs, especially if they make harmonious aspects to the intercepted planets. For me it’s Pisces/Virgo in the 6th/7th and 12th/1st respectively, though the only thing in either Pisces or Virgo for me in terms of natal aspects, is the Vertex Axis, which conjuncts the Asc/Desc from the 6th/12th house. I do have Neptune and Chiron working their way through my 6th house though at the moment-and the Progressed Moon moves into my 6th at the end of the year. In 2016 my prog moon will conjunct transiting Neptune and Neptune will trine my Sun at around the same time-as stated earlier, all these planets are intercepted in my natal so maybe this (along with the Pluto/Mars opposition) will be significant.

Along with these 6th house transits, the North Node, Jupiter, Lilith and Juno will all be having a party in Virgo/my 12th house in a matter of months.

Well, those are my thoughts-apologies for the longwinded post, I’m new to Astrology (and especially interceptions), so probably wouldn't be much help with interpreting your chart in full. Writing all this has helped me understand my thoughts on intercepted signs/planets a little better though-hope I’ve at least been of some assistance to you also, even if I've only bumped the thread up the rankings for someone with more knowhow to respond!

This requires some untangling of yarn...

There is no such thing as 'intercepted signs' in spite of what some pop astrology books, even texts say. Signs are already defined as arc segments of 30 degrees in the tropical zodiac, so there is never any question as to their geometric portion. The term 'interception' was borrowed from geometry where it had a much more precise definition, referring to an interception of an arc: http://www.mathopenref.com/arcintercepted.html

In a sense, each house is an interception of the 360 circle. As it applies in astrology, an interception is an enlarged house pair that swallows up an entire pair of signs, so that each cusp skips to the next sign. This enlargement of these house pairs lengthens their portion of the 360 circle, thus increasing the influence of those houses.

Key points:

- There are no 'intercepted signs.'
- Interceptions of house pairs create emphasis there; they do not weaken those houses or any planets in them. Quite the contary.
- This is another example of geometry or mathematics getting skewed, misapplied, or becoming entangled in misnomers during the popularization of astrology.

Without a chart to look at I cannot give intelligent answers to any of your questions.
