Greetings,

While some astrologers only use the traditional planets, many others have extended the chart to use the modern planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) and a number of others have also begun to integrate asteroids into the chart. Still others use theoretical planets (Uraniun astrology), others incorporate midpoints, fixed stars and Arabic parts.

Is there anyone that uses all of these when examining a chart? Where, when and how do you decide what the cut of is? For example, use the traditional and modern planets, major asteroids but not fixed star or Arabic parts? Or perhaps using all of these? How can one synthesize the chart interpretation with so many celestial bodies?

Some people watch the Today show or GMA and feel they've got a handle on the news. Others are cable news junkies or scan Google News for the headlines.

We all process information differently, and each has a limit to how much we can process.

I like the planets, Chiron and Ceres, the Part of Fortune, Nodes, Vertex, and angles. Aspects and synastry, include the in conjunct, exclude things like semi-squares, not so much the composites or draconic...

We each have a finite amout of capicity. Focus on what gives you the most insight into a chart.

Personally.. I use:
Midpoints
Declinations (parallels, contraparallels)
Traditional and Modern Planets
Fixed Stars
Draconic, Natal and sometimes Vedic charts
Asteroids.. Many different asteroids (one of my favorite parts of astrology, along with the stars..)
And, Sabian Symbols
Sometimes, I do research on Magi astrology.. However, I'm not sure that should be seperated from the rest of these.

Honestly, everyone does things a bit differently.. Research the things you find interest in..

I guess it also kind of depends on whether or not you plan to read other people's charts.
