I'm not sure how many fans of heliocentric (Sun-centered) astrology there are at LindaLand, but just in case there are any, here's an announcement of some new heliocentric astrology software (I'll keep it short):Two programs (which were inspired by the work of Richard Tarnas) are described at
For geocentric aspects: http://www.planetary-aspects.com/pat/pat.htm and
For heliocentric aspects: http://www.planetary-aspects.com/hpat/hpat.htm
These pages have links to the user manuals and you can download free trial versions.
Both programs calculate aspects between planets at a given date, and also display personal transits for a given birthdate and synastry for two birthdates. You can search for occurrences of particular aspect patterns, e.g. a grand trine or a T-square.
Here are two examples of the planetary configuration images which this software produces. First geocentric:
Now the same date and time, but heliocentric:
Clearly the perspective (Sun- or Earth-centered) has a big effect on what aspects are present.
