Tell me something you love about this placement! There's so much negativity surrounding this house, and it really irritates me when I hear astrologers go on and on about how doomed you are if you were born with your sun (or any planet for that matter) in the 12th. I'd love it if we can shed some positive light on this house. In astrology, there's a good side/bad side with every sign & house. So why does the 12th get such a bad rep? With my sun and stellium in the 12th house/Pisces, I don't feel like I've led a sad, miserable life. Yes, I have a lot of the negative cliches, but my experience (so far) has been mostly good. So I'll start: -My 12th house reassures me we're all here for a reason. Never for one moment have I doubted that. -My 12th house venus & mercury gave me a beautiful imagination, one that led into a career in writing. -My sun there removes egos & pretenses, allowing me to befriend anyone, not because of status, wealth or physical attraction, but simply because they're human. -Jupiter expands my love for all things this house rules including astrology, mediation, intuition, hypnosis, the subconscious, goodwill, healing, etc -Lastly, I was blessed with a huge appreciation for my mother. Although the 12th removes the father, I never felt that absence. So if you have this placement, and are worried, don't be. If I can survive 4 planets there as a perfectly normal, thriving adult, anyone can IP: Logged |

I don't know if it counts, but I have Saturn in twelfth conj AC, and I wouldn't place it anywhere else. It's this slow, yet meaningful, building of confidence throughout the year, added to an acute sense of duty and responsibility. It makes me into the strong, independent women I always wanted to be, and I know that it will make me able to grow even stronger as the year passes by. Seriously, Saturn in twelfth may seem scary as hell, but it's actually a placement I love despite the downside IP: Logged |

Exactly. And yes, it counts. If you can undertake Saturn, the lord of lessons, in the 12th and come out stronger AND get rewarded, that in itself is a beautiful thing. IP: Logged |

bananaz, i really appreciated your perspective. Do you think Jupiter in your 12th house stellium made a significant difference in the way you experienced it? IP: Logged |

If your Saturn shows same sign as your rising/ASC sign... you have Saturn in the 1st house IP: Logged |

I have debilitated Jupiter retrograde in 12th house.. and I am still young and there is a lot more for me to learn, but I am really proud and satisfied of my internal/inward growth. Idk, if my grand trine in water signs should take more credits but... I love my jupiter regardless~IP: Logged |

It's possible Jupiter offers it's optimism and luck in that area, but it also expands everything around it. So whatever is good/ bad, there will be more of those traits. Even with Jupiter there, I feel like the native can live a pretty normal life IP: Logged |

Your chart sounds like your internal/ subconcious world is meant to expand tremendously, and there is no greater gift than to know yourself Even debilitated (which to me sounds like the rest of the world is not on the same wavelength) it sounds like a good placementIP: Logged |

Lol I have sun, merc, venus, neptune and uranus in the 12th house. Sometimes when I read 12th house descriptions I feel like they describe some character from Les Misérables. It's not that bad, and it has many perks. Vivid dreams, imagination, the source of my creativity and eternal hope. What's not to love. Hope is the main thing that has carried me through many hardships and kept my sanity intact. IP: Logged |

I have moon and venus in the 12th. Yes, I have always felt I'm here for a special purpose. Moon gives me very strong intuition. Venus has blessed me with strong unconditional love for people in general, a dreamy romantic nature and an extremely vivid imagination. IP: Logged |

I have an unaspected 12th house moon....I like my emotional maturity. The fact that I don't need others to grow and evolve I do it alone and typically do it faster than others without 12th house placements. I love deeply and I can't help it or stop it. I understand pain and lonliness effortlessly, I have a great ability to empathize. Spirituality comes from within, I don't go to other places to understand God or the universe I go inside myself and the answers come to me. Others come to me to for answers. IP: Logged |

Jupiter in the twelfth really helps in dealing with twelfth house territory which doesn't come naturally for everyone. fifth/eleventh are the natural enjoyment houses while sixth/twelfth are considered chores/difficulty. IP: Logged |

Oh, this, so much! Very well said. Twelfth house Moon here as well, and Mars. Relate to and agree with this wholeheartedly. IP: Logged |

Any 12th house Jupiters feel the need to help those less fortunate or suffering in some way? I am very empathic toward them and feel sad when I cannot help. IP: Logged |

Mercury, Venus, mars. Sometimes I keep secrets that don't have any reason to be secrets. I just don't share a lot of things and this can be frustrating for some people. Sometimes I just don't feel like talking. Now to put a positive spin on it. I love living in my own head. It's like an escape and place for gathering myself. It's sort of like carrying a vacation home in your pocket. Always there when you need it. I know I didn't say much. I'm on my phone but I LOVE my 12th. What once felt like my doom now feels like a necessity to my well being. IP: Logged |

That's so true about my twelfth house Mercury. I don't like questions and tend to be naturally evasive when interrogated or interviewed. I do, however, like asking them! IP: Logged |

These are traits that astrologers often overlook when discussing the 12th house! Love this! IP: Logged |

Mercury in the 12th also carries many unfair misconceptions.Mercury in the 12th is vague. I've heard astrologers refer to it as an "unintelligent" placement, which is insulting and a poor attempt to understand its nature there. Mercury in the 12th can mean artistic intelligence. Maybe you express yourself best through music, painting, or writing like me. Or sometimes I've seen mercury in the 12th act as a voice for the needy, the sick, poor, etc. I've also seen mercury there as psychic ability, empathy, communication that's connected to the subconscious, dreams and meditation. It's an intelligence most people don't see or understand, and I think that's why many astrologers write it off as unintelligent. It's harder for mercury 12th to express itself in the same way other houses/ signs do because this form of communication doesn't live in the physical world. I'll be the first to admit that I speak very slooooowly, but my imagination is always working in overdrive. Good astrologers will recognize the difference. We all have favorite placements and signs but that doesn't make one better than another. IP: Logged |

Well I go through "dry" periods in my life. It can be in terms of confidence, creativity, and direction. My moon in the 9th squares these planets so i feel it deeply. Some of my relationships have suffered because of this as well. But those dry spells never last long, and the more i deal with it the shorter and shorter they get. An astrologer once said that the 12th house represents gifts you have that you are unaware of, so whenever i think I am "out of gas" something happens and i realize i have a lot more than I THINK. I also have a mystic rectangle pattern in my chart and this may also play a role. Best way to deal with the 12th house issues are to just suck it up. They become a blessing in the end. IP: Logged |

People either think I am totally stupid or above average intelligence (if they superficially know me as an acquaintance) or they think I am totally stupid only to change their mind once they get to know me. That's the most common response I get. They are quite shocked at the level of intelligence because they expect something opposite. I have Uranus conjunct Mercury in the twelfth so you can imagine how much of a jolt something like that can have on others.
