Ok.. Ok..

So, I am a HUGE night owl. During 50% of the year, I am pretty much nocturnal.. And, during the winter, I am pretty much full-blown nocturnal. I will go weeks without seeing any Sunlight. (of course, I really don't think this is the healthiest thing to do, if you understand sunlight's role in so many different things..)

I'm curious.. What kind of chart aspects do you think night owls might have?

It seems I am always mentioning this aspect.. But, I have Sun in the 8th, opposite Pluto(rx) in Scorpio.. Does anyone think this has anything to say about it?

I also have the asteroids Chaos, and Hermes conjunct my Sun. Hermes is exact conjunct.. Only an orb of 13 minutes.

Now.. Why do I think Hermes has significance? I've read that Hermes was/is a God that tends to be most active during the night.

I also have a Sagittarius Moon. I think I once had someone tell me that is somewhat of a 'Night Owl' aspect.

So, I'm curious.. Who here is a Night-Owl? Do you think it is something that can be seen in your chart? Or.. Do you think there are certain aspects in a chart that are even capable of showing a liking of the night?

Not to say you have to be as an extreme of a night owl as me, of course.. xD To me, a night owl could be someone who tends to stay up til about 1-2 AM on a nightly basis.

Another thought.. Those of you who are night owls, were you born during the AM or PM?

I was born in the morning but like the night. In my chart I have asteroid nyx and hypnos conjunct my ascendant, Gemini balsamic Moon, Moon/Neptune, Moon/Uranus (weird sleep patterns), Mercury/Uranus (too wired to sleep), 12th house stellium (love solitude and the quiet of darkness)...Moon/Pluto possibly. I also have Pisces/Aquarius in my 8th house, Aquarius (erratic), Pisces also signifies sleep or the 8th house can show hidden/darkness/sleep processes or how people handle nighttime activities. My Moon is extremely out of bounds (OOB) as well as Mercury.

That is pretty much what I contribute to my Night Owl status.

I do think a mutable Moon is interesting, my dad is a Sagittarius Moon and he is a Night Owl, and I know many Sagittarius Moons that are night owls or do their best thinking at night.

I tend to stay awake until 4-5 AM. I was born at 10:03 PM and, aside from Moon in the 1st House, I don't think there are any placements in my chart that make me more inclined towards staying awake late into the night. I love the Sun (Leo Sun with Aries Ascendant), but I'm much more productive/focused at night. The Moon illuminates my mind and brings greater clarity to my perception, whereas during the day there's a slight haze..

I think Moon in the 1st says quite a bit right there though, honestly.

Yeah.. Don't get me wrong.. I like the sunshine, but I love the moonlight.. xD

Definitely not someone who would avoid the Sun on purpose..

Personally, I would say Twilight is probably my favorite time of the day.. Has been for a few years now.

I wasn't always like this, but ever since tUranus aligned with my natal Moon (oddly enough exactly one year ago) I've been staying up past my normal clock-out time of 12 AM. Ahhh how I wish to return to my normal sleep schedule

Same, I'm a Sag, it's 5:30 AM, I have a problem. I get like this whenever I have an open schedule. I just have too much fun to go to sleep :|
And then sleeping is fun too, so I tend to still get a full night's (or day's) sleep. Hence, night owl.

Interesting about Hermes, I have an exact DC conjunction. And Orcus on AC by 3 minutes. I'm a night monster. Twilight is my favorite time of day, too. Everything's all glowy and almost purple I was born at 8:59pm.
Ok, I'm delirious, night! (or, morning)

Sure it counts, in its own way..

Do you have any aspects that you think might contribute to this?

I've mostly been a night owl up until now, though I "prefer" early nights, early mornings, and I'll prolly go back to that one day.

I was born very close to midnight, although my Sun is in the 5th house.

My Moon was in the night sky, in Aries, in the 12th/11th house. Mars in the 6th tightly conj. Jupiter (Sag. on 8th cusp)

But maybe it's my 12th house Moon that's caused periods of vampire syndrome?

Anyone think Neptune/Pisces/12th house placements?

Neptune/Pisces doesn't really care much for schedules at times.. Kind of just goes with whatever works at the time, maybe?

I have a Pisces friend who worked a night shift for awhile there..

However, I'm not sure that they would push someone to actually be a night owl unless it was the most efficient option..

Any of you have Jupiter in the 12th?

Seeing as Sagittarius seems to be showing up a bit..

EDIT: I literally posted this right about the same time you made your post Snowcatcher.. Maybe there is something to the Moon in the 11th/12th?

I have a 12th house stellium and I used to be a night owl. Even as a kid I always preferred the night. It felt as though time passed slowly at night and I was able to get lots of stuff done. Daytime felt hectic and distracting. I loved the darkness and the night sky. So smooth and velvety.

But that stopped a while ago. Idk why. Now the night just feels stuffy somehow. And I'd get headaches in the morning and I'd feel sluggish for the whole day if I stay up past 12.

Now I like early morning (from around 3-4 AM to 6/7 AM). So I go to sleep really early and wake up early.

Another Nigh Owl here! I blame it on my 8th house/Pluto influence.

You should check where are Nocturna (1298) and Nyx (3908) placed in your chart.

My Nocturna is right on my Sun (!!) in 8th house and Nyx trines ASC/Pluto.

I'm a night owl and shouldn't be! I was born close to 9pm. I do have a Saggy moon or could it be my Aquarius Asc? I do have to say I wrote my best after midnight when I was in school. lol

Yeah..

I think maybe Sagi Moons seem to be sticking out..

To me, I think it may be that natural drive to explore and experience, but directed towards the night (the Moon..) I'm not really sure though..

Well, afterall, Sagi does rule the 'Higher Mind' and Sagi can really like pondering things. Maybe that part of the Sagi Moon functions better at night? I'm not certain.

Also, the Moon does have a certain correspondence with the subconscious.. Maybe for a Sagi moon this helps them to tune into their subconscious and ponder it during the night..? Or possibly even work with their subconscious to kind of work through ideas in a whole different way..?
