I don't really understand the Yod. I've searched the forums and have read what folks have posted but it's not gelling for me.

My Yod: Lilith/Virgo/House8 inconjunct Mercury/Aires/houes 3 and North Node/Aquarius/House 1

Mercury sextile North Node.

If the finger of God is pointing at my lilith and it's tied to my NN...what does can that mean?

The Yod is complicated. One Yod will take me about an hour and more to explain to the person. I have some articles on it.

I love Yods and the challenge of them. I'll take a stab.

Mercury sextile NN means that your thoughts are more in tune with your evolutionary growth. Most of the decisions and thinking are in line with your destiny, though I hate using that word. Mercury is strong in the 3rd house and with NN in Aquarius, it seems your future is geared towards humanitarian and communication, could be social work of some sort.

Now with Lilith in the 8th, the work could have something to do with bringing things out of the depth. You might do something related to taboo or championing rights of prostitutes or escorts. Before the Yod can take affect though, the energies of all the planets need to be worked through themselves, so you'll have to come to terms with what it means to have Lilith in Virgo as it's not a very comfortable sign for Lilith. Lilith might feel a bit repressed by Virgo's energy to be 'proper' and 'perfect', whatever connotations those words bring up.

If you want to post a chart, it might be easier as there's many other factors that could affect the Yod. Other planetary aspects, planets in the second house, retrograde planets, etc.

Thank you SDragon!
Here is my chart:

I'm also wondering about POF - according to an article I found on astro.com, the POF isn't calculated correctly in my chart --but I don't know if the article is right or if the chart generated by astro.com is right! I have been working under the assumption that the astro charts were right.

This is from the article:

quote:
The Part of Fortune is computed in the following manner:

Day Births: Fortune = Ascendant + Moon - Sun
Night Births: Fortune = Ascendant + Sun - Moon

These formulae should be interpreted as in this way: compute the longitudes of the Ascendant, Moon and Sun as measured from 0 degrees of Aries. This is done according to the table below.

Aries Add 0
. Libra Add 180
Taurus Add 30
. Scorpio Add 210
Gemini Add 60
. Sagittarius Add 240
Cancer Add 90
. Capricorn Add 270
Leo Add 120
. Aquarius Add 300
Virgo Add 150
. Pisces Add 330

Everywhere else I've looked says it's just ASC +Sun-Moon, which is in line with the astro.com placement.

Lilith in VIrgo - I'm thinking about what you said in re: it not being a comfy spot for Lilith. It kind of makes sense in that I was extremely voluptuous at an early age and the attention my body received in general was neither welcome nor appropriate. I was never molested or anything - more along the lines of ordinary men would turn into gross leering creeps. I have dated men with fetishes and I've gone along. Hey, sex is fun - but I'm not compelled to sexual fetishes myself.

This yod has me stumped because my lilith is part of a grand trine AND conjunct pluto, which (among other things) is also part of a grant trine. Venus is conjunct my NN too. Not enough to be part of the Yod but it's there.

All of these questions relate to the idea of being a woman. My kids are almost grown, I'm single and I find myself what it really means to be a woman in my own right - outside of the relationship/obligations I've had for the past 20 years. I've been someone's mother, wife, girlfriend, etc. since I was 21 and now I see a time in my life coming ever closer when I will truly be on my own. Also, tr. pluto is heading straight toward my ASC.
