Topic: What rising can make someone not so tall?

What rising sign can make someone short? I heard it can be Scorpio rising. I have Scorpio rising, and I am not so tall at all, but I am asking for men, I'm trying to find rising for someone, cause I don't have birth time.IP: Logged |

Short or medium stature is relative to your parentage. Taurus, Cancer, Aquarius, Pisces tend to be shorter more often than other signs.Increased height tends to show with planetary factors in hard aspect to the Asc (including parallel, contra-parallel) like Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, sometimes Neptune. I cannot make as definitive a statement for short stature, because planets work in an additive fashion. ------------------

Ok, so I read somewhere Leos can be tall, and I know one Cancer with Leo rising, he is really tall. Know few more examples. What if Cancer has one of those risings you said, can be shorter?IP: Logged |

I'm Virgo sun (with a stellium in Virgo) and Cancer rising = 4'11 . Super short! (3 more planets in Scorpio)I think it's important to look at planets as well. Often a planet on the asc. will influence looks. Also the dominant planets in a chart. I find it hard to go on just sun/asc. alone. IP: Logged |

I have a feeling, combination of Saturn-Moon in 1st H will make a person short and chubby...mnn Danny DeVito is short and stubby. IP: Logged |

Yeah I don't think height has anything to do with the ascendant. I know someone with a virgo sun and a cancer moon and he is tall for his heritage and average/tall for USA height standards. Meanwhile I'm a Cap sun, Libra ascendant and I'm short 5'3". IP: Logged |

My mom is taller than average for her biological parents. I'm smaller than average for mine. We're both Leo rising.But our hair is thick and we both have a walk that stands out (though not identical). IP: Logged |

Every Libra I've ever met has been short...especially if they have planets in Virgo. The ones with fire or air tend to be taller.Virgo stellium, Capricorn stellium, most of my planets are in 4th, 8th or 12 house, Capricorn ASC w/Saturn conjunct. I'm 5'2" and shorter than both of my parents and basically everyone else in my family. IP: Logged |

By everyone elses experience, I'm not sure chart rectification can be done on a height basis alone. As mentioned above, planetary influences can change the variables of the asc and how it is expressed physically. For instance, I am a Leo rising, I'm not at all tall...coming in at only 5'3 barely. I am the shortest in my family on all sides, with exception of my aunt who is a Leo sun, lol. I have mercury conjunct my asc nearly exact, so maybe that lends to the youthful look....I don't look my age, my voice is childlike in a sense, and well as I said I am vertically challenged, lol! My mom is Aqua rising and Aqua sun and she is about 5'8ish and my dad had a Libra sun and Sag rising and he was a bit on the short side for a man somewhere around 5'9 - 5'10. Maybe looking into personality traits would be a less flexible basis for analysis? Just throwing ideas out there, I may be totally of in the outfield with this though so take it with a grain of salt, lol. IP: Logged |

Also I could say planets in the first house would lend to the mix of the asc...and of course any planet aspecting the asc. So take for example my height and my first house mercury conjunct asc, if I also had jupiter in my first the mode of BOTH planets will have an influence....so jupiter magnifying, or expanding on mercury could produce an even shorter stature. In my case jupiter is conjunct my dsc opposite my asc and mercury, so I still have a jupiter aspect tying to my asc, but not in the house of "me" so therefore it doesn't really affect my appearance as much as it could if it were. Genetics play a part 2 you know. Atm I'm only 5,1 feet but I have a bit to grow until I'm done.  (Still growing)
My mum is short and she has a scorpio rising, and my dad is average (?) 6 feet tall (184.5 cm). Think he is either gemini or leo. I have virgo asc, btw IP: Logged |

About the genetics role in height, here is the example. My first bf is about 190cm(he is quite slim). His height is much taller than our Chinese average. His mom is about 165cm, his dad is only 168cm. He doesn't have any tall relatives...... Genetics doesn't play much role in his case. I agree if there are no other planets in 1st house and there are no aspects to ASC, then Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo and Cancer rising is not tall. IP: Logged |

Notice my first statement that you quoted that it is relative to parentage. Height is an important factor to consider along with personality and other body factors when the Asc = embodied soul. Chart rectifiers have to pay attention to such irrefutable physical factors as they are not abstract, therefore not subjective to speculation or individual perception. Notice the words 'tend to' regarding signs, and also my emphasis on planetary aspects to the Asc. ------------------
