Why does Jupiter rule Sagittarius? It honestly makes no sense to me whatsoever, wondering what Im missing. What has sag got to do with Jupiter/Zeus? Seems to me Jupiter should rule Taurus...

Jupiter "should" rule Taurus if you think about that planet's energy only as appreciator of fine things in life.I actually feel that it makes sense that it rules sag. They look pretty jupiterian to me with that outgoing, open attitude. Even the manner of speaking denotes magnanimity. It's like they see no restrictions. That would fit the expansive archetype of Jupiter. This energy could be confuse with Mars influence, but Sag for me has more to do with big ideas and generosity than with martian aggressiveness and ambition. Its in the mythology upon which astrology is based. And Sagittarius and Jupiter resonate to the same color frequency range (blue/indigo). They both deal in expansiveness, oriented towards big ideas and broad-ranging interests/actions. Taurus/Venus resonate with cyan/light blue. ------------------
