Usually when I feel hurt or angry, I want to be alone. I stay in solitude for a while and reflect on the pain. Sometimes I cry, other times I zone out. Really, I just let it pass because it always does. Being alone helps me collect my thoughts and heal.

Depression is tricky. For me it can creep up when I'm having a normally good day. I have to let it pass, too, and allow the time to do so. It helps if I do a physical exercise to alleviate the feelings of depression, but most times I rather stay in my bedroom. I usually feel better the next unless I'm dealing with something that makes me extremely unhappy, but there is no immediate solution. Then I start hating life, if only temporarily.

It's not easy to tell if we are going through emotional turmoil. Unless we verbalize it, we keep it to ourselves.

I don't feel
I think my feelings through.
No really, Air is not a good place for the moon, because they don't feel and let it flow like water does. They need to think through and through and nitpick and understand every single detail of their feelings. And the why. And the How. And the who. And the... on and on and on.
It's not horrible, no placement is. But it's more difficult to deal with because the moon is a water planet, which the moto is "FEEL" Where as air is more along the line of "THINK".

When I'm depressed I isolate myself, I fall in my own world or physically become a hermit and refuse any kind of socializing.
WELL, more than usual.
I get snarky, irritable and on edge with people and I feel very unstable and volatile. I also tend to pity and victimize myself a lot during those times. But, it makes me able to cry and I always feel better and can rationalize more effectively afterwards.

My feelings are also quite intense (Moon/Pluto) and my air luminaries aren't really at ease with it, so I end up confused and in need of lonely time to sort through it all. .
Because I am a gemini, people know something's up when I stop talking and decide to be quiet.
If I send them a dirty look when they ask what's wrong, they know it's just temporary and I need to be left alone if they don't want to get verbally abused (I'm very sorry my dear tolerant friends).

I have always been emotional, but have usually been pretty calm. I think both Mars in Pisces and Gemini Moon/Venus can be good together, that way. I tend to react strongly when I'm surprised/shocked by someone.

e.g. I was a good, quiet student. I wasn't a problem, and if someone tried to pick on me, I did my best to not let it show. When the teacher accused me of something I didn't do - she yelled at me across the room, instead of talking to me quietly, and I was so shocked and upset, that I yelled back (nobody expected that). Of course, I ended up in floods of tears, but continued to argue. She finally sent me to the bathroom, to calm down, and wash my face. She followed me in, and apologized, saying she hadn't thought that I would take it that badly. People always seemed to think that I was handling things better than I was, and I have always been expected to just deal with things (when someone hasn't been the complete opposite, and over-protective). I have literally spelled out how much I couldn't deal with something anymore, and that didn't matter. It was like I was speaking Greek.

I think there were times when I was better at compartmentalizing certain things, so when feelings hit me that weren't so easily calmed, it was both thrilling and scary. I'm talking about feelings of attraction. I became bolder in ways, because the feelings wouldn't subside, so it's do something about it, or feel even worse. My Moon/Venus are in the 8th house, so that also factors in, I guess.

I'm tired, and will have to come back.

Writing can help to process things. I used to be an artist, as well - I would draw or paint my way through it. I walk, take photographs. Cry. I've never known an air moon to be unemotional.

This.

I walk around as usual until I see a stray cat or dog or something else that makes me sad and/or makes me remember whatever I'm sad about, and all of a sudden, I'm dashing to the bathroom to bawl my eyes out. It all comes pouring out, eventually. In private, though, or in front of a trusted friend or family member.

If I'm severely depressed, I pull the curtains, shut the door, refuse all phone calls, visitors, etc. Eventually I'll find a way to express it in a constructive way such as writing or music, and I'll find my way back to being happier. But I have to make myself do that, there's not anything that someone can say or do to speed up that journey.

It just depends on what my Gemini Moon feels like doing at the time.

I have an Aquarius Moon and I DO feel.
I may not be too sharing about that I do or how I do most of the times, though this changed, too. But then my progressed Moon has been in Cancer and now is in Leo, so maybe that helped with the feeling-part, and especially since it has been in Leo, I am more expressive about it (at least in relation to my prior Self), though it mights still be a little subtle. lol

Honestly though, when I am in a depressed mood?
While I may claim to want to be left alone, and need that space for a bit, yes, there comes a time when what I really NEED, is a hug, or some physical interaction. I may protest against it loudly, but it is the only thing (or a surprising verbal interaction) that can jolt me out of my mind at that point, and I certainly need that occasionally.

As a Libra Moon I deal with them with meditation and anything that keeps me balanced. If I fly off the handle it will be a bad experiences for me and probably everyone else...

People get it twisted when it comes to air moons. They assume that we don't know how to feel emotions on a deep level......WRONG

Air Moons deal with society and social nuances. We "feel" our environment in a very deep way and we have to use our air qualities to bring harmony and resolve to those emotions. Not cling to them like water moons, or act on them impulsively like fire moons

I'm a Gemini moon, we often get told we are fickle, flakey etc. This is not true, at least from my perspective. I may like my space, but I need to re-charge my batteries, I feel my emotions deeply, I like to understand why im feeling the way I do. If im upset or feeling very emotional i prefer to be alone to think, or get a hug and be told everything is alright.

pls dont quote might edit later

Air Moons have to deal with the emotions of their environment and find a way to sort them out...

Which is why we walk around with a smile on our face because we're trying to "lighten" the things up we already know is super heavy..

Great insights! I completely agree. I always believed Air Moons to be fantastic problem solvers. These are the people who can deal with heavy or challenging emotions and situations by communicating and talking it out, making sense of the chaos with their excellent insights and self-awareness. In fact, I believe Air Moons have an advantage relating to others, especially to large groups or the public, since they have a manner of adjusting their emotions to create social harmony or a sense of balance. These are the kind of people who rarely have emotional outbursts or attack others for their feelings, mainly out of fear of causing others discomfort or annoyance...they would rather think their emotions through while processing them on a private, introspective level. (In fact, as a Moon-Uranus person I've felt the Air energy in my Moon quite strongly and this is true for me as well, even though my Moon is in an Earth sign.)

I agree with @RoseLily that Air-dominant people are usually ill at ease when they stop talking...but it's best to let them be and not bother them too much when they're quiet...

I've noticed those who have seemed entirely 'unemotional' are actually Water voids, or those who don't have a single Water planet or angle. This may not always prove true for Water voids, but every one I've personally encountered has been cruel or unsympathetic toward me and others around them.

I have an aqua moon, usually I don't let anybody see me upset or angry, I feel like its just showing my vulnerable side. So I usually like to be I'm solitude in my room, feel out my emotions, also try to think of why I'm feeling that way, until all those emotions subside and I feel better lol

I'm a Gemini moon. This post may or may not convince you of that. I'm not entirely convinced I act like one myself, but regardless I decided to post here since I'm an air moon.

I deal with negative emotions by analyzing them until they get bored of me and leave.

The basic analysis:
-What is the emotion?
-Why am I experiencing X emotion?
-How do I feel better?
-How much time do I have to experience it normally?
-Can I feel better on my own?

I also like to resolve negative emotions by just letting myself experience them if possible. However, most of the time, I am not comfortable expressing my emotions.

No one sees when I'm upset, except anyone following me on Twitter. No one knows when I'm depressed either and I'm less likely to show this off, because not many people care about my emotions to begin with.

If I have something important to do, I stop focusing on my emotions and get that done first and then wait for the emotion to come back so I can deal with it properly. There are very few moments when my emotions actually control me. If I'm being controlled by my emotions, some basic need isn't getting met.

Of course, like most Gemini placements, there are two sides to my emotions: 1.) I'm able to control my emotions and 2.) My emotions are influencing my every move and I am probably stressed out.

It's not that difficult to tell when I'm upset or depressed, but I rarely allow myself to be around other people when I am. Plus, in public, I just pretend I'm doing fine even when I'm not.

Emotions are a tricky subject for me. I can't really pin them down sometimes unless they're really powerful. Fear is the easiest emotion for me to pinpoint, because at its weakest I still recognize it's there.

To be blunt, I tend to just wait until the negative emotion goes away and normally I wait in complete solitude. I never know how other people can help me feel better, so they only make things worse if I'm upset or depressed.

As a Gemini moon, negative emotions scatter my energy and my attention. I don't like that, but I have found that just letting myself experience emotions as they are helps with getting them to go away faster. Doesn't mean I have to go around showing them to people though.

I agree completely with what Aquarian mood said. I have an Aquarian moon and when I am dealing with depression or something upsetting I prefer to lock myself in my room If it's something that isn't TOO bad I usually get over it the next day. I like to be alone in these situations.

But until the next day comes I am locked in my room crying briefly, analyzing why the situation happened etc. I never tell anyone that I am upset. If I leave my room I leave as if I wasn't just crying. I don't like for people to see me upset.

I find that I have to self-reflect on why I am feeling so upset/hurt. I think about my feelings. It's kind of funny.

I'm sorry you've encountered people like that.

I can see how a completely water-void person may be perceived that way. I can't speak for any other elements, but I do think earth signs are generally emotional, but not overly expressive with their emotions. But I can see how that can come off as cold to other signs.

I have all earth (six planets) and air (two planets + ASC) in my chart, except for Pluto in Scorpio. But my Moon and Mars are in my 4th house, so I've always been emotional and kind-hearted. I can't even imagine being cruel or unsympathetic to another person...

This is really interesting! My SO has libra moon (and aqua venus and mars) and recently when things were too much for him, he took himself off cause wanted to be alone and have no contact. It hurt me at the time (I am leo moon) but I let him be and after 4 weeks he came back having sorted his head out.
