Today is the last day Saturn is in Scorpio and nothing has happened. I'm VERY grateful that nothing terrible has happened, but I was really hoping that I would meet the love of my life. It hasn't happened and it's probably not likely I'll ever get married. Oh well.I still don't feel grown up even though I have my own house and have an excellent job. Did anyone else have a bland Saturn Return? IP: Logged |

Not everyone's saturn return is eventful. Especially if saturn is not strong in your chart. This is a blog about saturn return stories http://saturnreturnstories.com/ I suppose saturn transit over your angles or planets sometimes can be much more eventful IP: Logged |

Astra, in what degree of Scorpio was your Saturn? I would love to see your chart. I have never heard of a bland or uneventful Saturn return. IP: Logged |

Saturn is at 23 degrees in my chart and it is very strong in my chart. It's placed in the 10th house along with Pluto and it's my chart ruler. Here is my natal chart: IP: Logged |

Well, mine is still to come but I always had the idea that since I have a strong Saturn then I'm already used to the energy. While people with weak Saturn should be disoriented when hit with certain transits...but that's only my personal opinion IP: Logged |

Hmmm….interesting. I never thought of it like that. My life at 23 was very similar to what people call the "Saturn Return." I had to make what others would call "life-altering" decisions that led me to my current career and life. IP: Logged |

In principle, a planet's transit (or progression) to itself is a 'reset' relating to its energies and cycles, or some type of new start. It is not a doubling effect of natal (bad) Saturn + transiting (bad) Saturn = "Double bad." It is important not to do this reductionist kind of addition, but to look at it in terms of cycles. Saturn comes back around to its starting place and starts a new cycle in your chart dynamics. It can be relatively uneventful, or very eventful -- depending on the natal alignments and what other transits/prog are happening during that time. ... and depending on your outlook. My first Saturn return in 1999 was a good period in which I gained in health through disciplined health balancing activities. It was quickly followed by Jupiter's transit conjunct my natal Sun. Astra, with your Saturn at 23 Scorpio, it makes a sextile to your Moon (stabilizing), and is past conjunction to your natal S.Node. In addition its natal declination [16S21] is not in aspect with any other planet. So in both longitude and declination, there are no major aspects. This can allow for a smooth Saturn return, particularly since your chart has not been simultaneously hit by the Uranus-Pluto square. The Saturn return may be one of the best examples of creating negatively anticipated results, seeing something 'bad' and blowing it out of proportion through fear, worry, reactionism. It is hardest on those who carry with them a balance of negative qualities associated with Saturn (fear, control issues, father issues, refusal to take personal responsibility) over positive ones (discipline, patience, long-range planning, self-control). So in a sense it can be a checkpoint for what you've put into life, and how much a reset is needed. It is a measuring point of you with you, and you with your parental/social standards. Saturn transits to natal Sun, Moon, Asc, Mars, or Venus are definitely more challenging, all other things assumed equal. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Complete Rising Sign Descriptions IP: Logged |

^^^I agree with Kannon here. Saturn rules your chart, it's in its home (Capricorn), in a house it loves (10th), it's not making any major bad aspects with the other planets. I am not surprised you have your own house and a job you love. This makes for very smooth Saturn returns. Lucky you! as for getting married I am not sure why you thought Saturn return would bring you the love of your life and marriage. And I am not sure why you think you will never get married. How can someone be 29-30 and think they will never get married? Your 7th house ruler, the moon, is in the first, which points out to a little too much self-involvement, but it's also sextile your Saturn, so marriage might not happen early or fast enough for you, but it is certainly a possibility later in life. Was your pMoon in Sagittarius at that time?? pMoon opposite nSun would account for major changes. FULL MOON, it's the end of one cycle beginning of another. A separation of some sort is indicted. pMoon in Capricorn is a personal GOLDEN AGE if you're the ambitious type. IP: Logged |
