Why thank you I'll have a look, I meant more on a general scale too, what I was wondering was, a person with a few planets in retrograde, like I have 4, does that make the person more introverted rather than extroverted? hmmm IP: Logged |

Uranus Rx is also my chart ruler and all of my personal planets are in Mercury-ruled planets. I am more introverted than extroverted. I am independent, fine with not being a part of a crowd. When I see people who latch onto others, or want to be accepted by other people, it truly baffles me. I've also noticed I have a pretty vivid imagination and tend to live in my own inner world. I don't talk about my ideas/goals with another person until I've already thoroughly examined all of the possibilities associated with that option in my mind. I do think Rx people march to the beat of their own drum, in the sense that they have a very unique way of approaching life and tackling issues which they're presented with. They're more likely to internalize their issues and try to solve them by themselves before they take them to another person, IMO.
Hi Virgo thank you & welcome! I am much the same, I feel quite absorbed in my own inner world, being the center of my own life makes me feel secure & balanced, I have to have things my own way and What is going on outside of my control is difficult to deal with. I agree I guess it's hard to just go with the norm, the flow of things, I have to go with my own flow, kinda thing. I think it may be difficult for rx people to put themselves out there, we haven't fully developed the energy of the planets in retrograde and its like everything is going on inside at a very slow pace.. It would be interesting to learn more about how a retrograde works as a ruling planet. I think saturn is my ruling planet as I have pisces on my ascendent and my saturn is in pisces, is that right? I very much agree with this! I have Saturn and onwards retrograde, and I am a very introverted and private person. Whilst growing up, I never felt peer pressure, never felt the need to try and fit in (not that I am passing judgement on those that did, everyone has their reasons.) I used to hang out with my aunt a lot, which were some of the best times of my life, I never really had a group of friends. I have been described before as weird and eccentric, and I am fine with that. My idea of a good time is cozy indoors with my husband, a good book, cup of tea, and a Tim Burton film on in the background lol. Never been to a club in my life- not my idea of fun at all. I'm very close to my family, but outside of them, I would say that I have one close friend (who, even then, I only see once a few times a year.) That's it, and I am happy and comfortable that way. Experiencing the retrograde planet energy internally. I think it can feel like a barrier to the external world some times, especially in youth. I guess as we grow we become more comfortable and set with who we are and we can see clearer where our life is heading. It just takes time to learn the planets energy and apply it to our own lives in a constructive way.I once asked my mum what I was like as a child. She told me I was a very with drawn kid, and played in my own little world and I suddenly remembered being like that. I didn't fit in, didn't want to/know how to fit in at school and it only got worse in my teens. I used to love going out dancing in my late teens, I didn't talk or dance with anyone, It was my own little thing, a way of expressing myself. In dancing I braught my internal self out in to the external and I had such blissful experiences. I am 21 and I have only just got myself stable and right. I have one friend whom I see quite frequently, I have known him since childhood. I have a couple of other friends I only keep in contact with through social networking, they too are kinda awkward/outcasts, we just seem to get each other and can hold that connection.I am trying now to slowly get myself out there, but I want to be serious now, and find my place in the world. It has taken me a long time to build this kind of structure. I think it also is important to see which house's the retrograde planets are working I find. Anatheron - I wonder what your ruling planet is? do you have any retrogrades placed in your 4th house? IP: Logged |

Awesome I have my Gemini sun in the 4th too! I think this explains our need to be close to home life, family, & comfort, as the 4th house is ruled by all things Cancer I am guessing you were born in 1988 by the looks of your birth details? Pisces NN & pluto in scorpio gave me that idea. So that means you were born in the year of the Dragon in Eastern astrology which you might want to look into if you haven't already! one of my favorite signs the Dragon, it probably makes you a straight to the point kind of person, in touch with your primitive nature, and you will probably be a very intuitive, creative individual maybe, many of my favorite musicians are born in the year of Dragon or Monkey which is also a fire sign along with Dragon. Dragon represents the western sign, Aries, and Monkey represents Leo. Also Dragon is the only mythical creature in the zodiac, pretty cool! The Eastern signs are based around the Jupiter cycle, as Jupiter spends one year in each sign. I think thats right. Anyway, worth looking into!

Thanks for the info, I am indeed a Dragon!! I did read a up a bit about it when I was younger, not much since then, but I am definitely interested in learning more! Need to dig out my books lol. What are you, if you don't mind my asking? And definitely agree about the 4th house observation It really explained so much to me about my closeness and relationship with my family when I started studying astrology <3 IP: Logged |

I have four retrograde planets: Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune.Echoing what some of you were saying, I am also very introverted, but I can't say whether that's attributable to my four retrograde planets or to my Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Mars being in the 12th house. Maybe the combination of all that is what makes me introverted. Since I have a Gemini Sun conjunct Gemini Venus, I can be friendly and sociable, but I prefer to "keep my own counsel", so to speak. I also need time with my own thoughts to recharge or I'll start to feel stressed. One thing I'm wondering is how do retrograde planets affect the houses they rule? Anyone have any insight into that? I was born in 94' & I am a Dog! I prefer wolf ") but I don't think you can choose! paha. Apparently Dog & Dragon are opposite signs. Similarly to Aries & Libra in Western. I find it funny how the chinese praise the dragon and eat dog. Lol I'll send you a link where you can look up your 5 element personality chart and some other interesting links. The primal zodiac is pretty cool too, i'll link you too it below, if you go to sign combinations down the side you'll find your primal zodiac sign, which is a combination of your western and eastern sign! if you click on it there's a description. I like to look up the animal symbolism separately too! For example my primal zodiac animal is deer. So I will type things into Google like 'deer totem meaning' and deer symbolizm, etc. Enjoy ^_^ 5 element chart - http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/Love/CFAPersonality.htm Some Info - http://www.orientalmedicine.com/five-element http://www.innerjourneyseminars.com/the-five-elements.html Primal Zodiac - http://www.primalastrology.com/

I made a thread on Retrograde Mars describing how it affects me. Here is what I wrote. ------ This placement often makes me feel as though I experience all of the things Mars rules (sex-drive, aggression, desire to succeed, etc) on a much stronger level than the average person....but internalized. It's almost as if those things were meant to live within me and can go horribly wrong when attempts at expression are made.I feel those with a direct Mars tend to feel the presence of Mars arrive when in a Martian-related situation, express that Martian energy, and then move on (until that energy is needed again). My retrograde Mars on the other hand seems to have a constant presence within. I feel I should be feared (despite rarely ever being aggressive) because I think Martian things all the time. I feel like an extremely sexual being (despite being a virgin with very little experience with intimacy) because the sex-drive of Mars mingles with my day to day energy and rarely ever subsides. You get the idea. All of the energies that Mars governs are rarely expressed, so they build up and thus sort of lives within Retrograde Mars all the time. However, as unique as this all is it does not blend very well into a world where this is not the norm. A feeling of being ran-over or finishing last is common with a Retrograde Mars. It gets to a point where it's like, what good is feeling all of this energy if I suck at expressing it? Or at least expressing it in the commonly accepted / understood manner. For example, I find that with this placement I have difficulty expressing anger / aggression during conflict. In hindsight I would always wish I had been more assertive (often in a witty / strong verbal sense since my Retrograde Mars is in Gemini). I imagine a Retrograde Mars in Aries would tend to wish they could have been more assertive (but by punching the other party in the face lol). Yet though Retrograde Mars has issues expressing aggression, one must remember the Martian energy is, in reality, very strong within (because it is rarely released, just built upon). This is why I worry that many of us have the potential (if not checked) to eventually kill or seriously harm people much easier than others based on repressed anger. Mars is our inner soldier, and Retrograde Mars is the quiet calculating soldier (reflecting Scorpio, the other side of Mars) while direct Mars is the brave aggressive solider we are all familiar with (Aries). So that's a little of what I've experienced with this placement so far. I would love to hear other opinions and experiences. ------ Apparently this is a pretty uncommon retrograde planet.
