Hi everyone,

I have a friend going through this. I have a good understanding of the period but I would appreciate anyone sharing their experiences.

I have just finished my second transit of Saturn through the first. I experienced it as very... Plutoian.

Your core identity will be tested. Who you are. Who your family is and what will be your role in it. What will you do with your life for the next 30 years. That which does not endure will be discarded. That which is good will require effort. But this from someone with the first house completely contained in Scorpio, with an 8th house Sun to boot.

I'm starting the second house transit, in which Saturn asks "Now, how will you pay for it all?"

I'm halfway through saturn transiting my 1st. Well, it has had me facing my deepest fears and discovering what I actually want in my life. Discarding what no longer serves me and re-creating myself the way I want to place myself in this world. It led me to leave an unhappy marriage. I also have made changes to my appearance and the way I want to be perceived by others. It has greatly increased my confidence and forced me to remove the toxic pockets that have been left over after many years of feeling stuck.

edit: this coincides with tpluto sq pluto for me right now so it would be coloured by that!

Hey Koho,

I got your message and thought I'd swing by

I can't respond this red hot minute. But will do so at my earliest convenience.

Is your friend having a hard time coping with Saturn in 1st?

Yea, she is. She's a Neptune in the 1st house with lots of Libran energy so Saturn in the house of the ego, identity, etc is a particularly pivotal time in her life.

She also has a lot of 12th house energy as well.

Have you ever experienced/helped someone get through this?

Best time of my life. Lost weight, had more energy, took good care of myself and my ability to concentrate was out of this world.

Then again, Saturn is the 2nd strongest planet in my chart, so Im used to its energy (usually being negative), but when it transited my 1st it was a really good influence. I'll probably lose some weight when my p.Moon will enter Capricorn in a few months again. :P

I don't have transit Saturn around my 1st, but my Solar Arc Progressed Saturn is less than 1° from my AC and will soon be hitting my AC and entering my 1st.

Does anyone know if that will be similar to t.Saturn going through the first? What would any differences be? Have any of you gone through Solar Arc Progressed Saturn going through your first?

Saturn IME always turns things grey.

When it hit my 7th house and opposed the 1st in 2011/2012. I lost my appetite for food, people, interests etc.

It is usually a time where you start re-examining what makes you "you".

If you liked being social with people. This time brings with it a feeling of "same ol,same ol' " to the things that you once enjoyed.

So the club scene may lack the same appeal right now. Certain friends may bore you to tears(and you won't know why) and there is a general "closing" in of old habits.

Saturn also rules Aquarius,so you will feel a need to do something new and sustainable. Perhaps even meet people that are far from those that you would usually socialize with.

So instead of just going to parties, you'll perhaps start organizing parties yourself and start to make a living out of being an Events manager etc.

Here the focus can turn from enjoying yourself(from a superficial level), to wanting to enjoy yourself from every part of your bone. To want to actually "feel" the fun from when the Sun rises to when it sets(and even after)

The problem is that when you don't, you start to wonder "is this really it?", "is this what life is all about?". And that's where the depression of Saturn in 1st can creep in.

You could deal with crushing disappointments like ;"I'll never be singer" or "I'll probably work at this job longer than I want" etc.

One tends to see life from a more "realistic"(albeit sometimes cynical) point of view at this juncture of their life. And there is little that one can do to avoid it.

If she is not happy with her life, Saturn in 1st could have her feeling like she "wasted" it all.

If she is happy with her life, she could want "more"; something tangible etc.

None of us escape the sobriety that Saturn brings unfortunately.

this is me to a tee; Saturn just left my ASC at Scorpio 27, and is in my first house again. Some of my changes started with it in the 12th. I left my husband, and in the past two years I have gone back to work, to school, and no longer look the same. In fact, someone I hadn't seen since before I left my husband saw me recently told me he would not have recognized me if he had seen me on the street. In a good way. It's been a bumpy road, but overall the best change in my life. I finally feel like I am living MY life, not someone else's.

But like EmGem, Pluto is squaring my natal Pluto at the same time.
